See mumu Fabricated gas dey talk Ronaldo matter. Can he ask himself why he is not with Spain in Russia?
FootBallBlood:
Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas played down the praises heaped on the performances of Cristiano Ronaldo at the world cup so far. Stating that Portuguese superstar does not deserve all the credit he is getting for the goals he has scored so far at the World Cup.

Ronaldo is at the moment top joint scorer on four goals in two matches with Belgium’s Romelu Lukaku, who have also scored brace in each of the two matches for his national team.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored hat-trick in their 3-3 ppp draw against Fabregas’s country men and also with the winning goal against Morocco in their second Group B game on Wednesday.

Fabregas didn’t make the team for the Spanish side which drew with Portugal in their opening match, and he has spent part of his time off writing for BBC Sport. Fabregas wanted to let people know that Ronaldo’s goals have come via situations that are easier to score from.

People has been praising the Portuguese superstar as the best player in Russia so far and looking at the situation, Ronaldo has been out rightly the best for Portugal because all the four goals they have scored so far has come from the forward.

And the Chelsea playmaker, who is no friend with Ronaldo, and has been in logger head with the Real Madrid superstar during his time at Arsenal and Barcelona, believes the opposite saying that Ronaldo is being over hyped.

Fabregas said (“Yes, he is playing well, but if you really look at what he has done, he has scored one penalty, one free-kick, one goal from a corner and one with a shot that David de Gea should have saved, “You cannot say that he and Portugal have shown great combinations or tiki-taka football to score great goals, “You have to give him credit, of course, but his goals have come from set-pieces, penalties or mistakes).

Ronaldo will continue his golden boot chase in Portugal’s final group game against Iran on Monday night, with Russia or Uruguay their likely last-16 opponents.

T. Danjuma has told Nigerians to fight to defend themselves but our educated southerners think Islamizing Nigeria is not possible. I only pity my south west because we shall be next after middle belt. South East will definitely be the hardest to islamize but it is not impossible if they do not fight for them self. Southerners must note that these guys are patient enough to wait for 200 years to islamize this country, better still all southerners should go and read how Turkey was Islamized. Southerners should help and support middle it does not get to us.

Armed men attack Plateau mourners; witness says 120 killed; police confirm 11

A cleric has reported the killing of 120 people who were returning from a funeral service.

The police confirmed the attack but said only 11 persons died.

The pastor in charge of Church of Christ In Nations (COCIN) Regional Church Council (RCC) Rop in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area said the mourners were killed by suspected armed herdsmen.

Pam Chollom stated this in an interview with PREMIUM TIMES on Sunday. He said the attack on Saturday lasted for several hours.

“Fulani people attacked our members who attended the burial of the father to one of our clergy Baba Jakawa, at Gidin Akwati, Gashis district. Late Jakawa was aged over 80 years, a committed member of COCIN, so his burial attracted many sympathisers.”

“The armed Fulanis ambushed the sympathisers on their way back from the burial, attacked and killed 34 persons from Nekan village, 39 others from Kufang, and 47 people from Ruku village.

“As we speak with you, many others are still missing in the bushes,” he said.

The cleric added that “the sad incident started at about 1:00 p.m. in the afternoon, and lasted still about 8:00 p.m. yesterday (Saturday).

“We informed members of the Special Task Force (STF) on Jos crisis. They went to one of the villages, but the attackers had committed the havoc and left,” Mr Chollom said.

The spokesman of the STF, also known as “Operation Safe Heaven,” Umar Adams, confirmed the attack in an interview with PREMIUM TIMES on Sunday.

He, however, could not ascertain the casualty.

“I’m speaking with you from one the scenes of the incident. Our men were able to repel the attackers, made some arrest, though lives were lost. But at the moment, I cannot tell you exact number of the deaths.”

“Our men in Barkin Ladi responded promptly to the incident, because they heard sounds of the gun shots, and moved to the direction.

“On reaching there, there was another similar incident in another village, some of them were redeployed to the affected area. We have been able to arrest the situation, it is now calm.”

On its part, the Nigeria Police Force, through its spokesperson in Plateau, Terna Tyopev, told journalists in Jos that 11 people died from the attack.

Mr. Tyopev said the bodies of the deceased persons have been deposited at the Barkin Ladi general hospital. He also said armed personnel have been redeployed to the trouble areas.

Meanwhile, Plateau State Government has confirmed the attacks and commiserated with victims of the attacks.

A statement by the Commissioner for Information and Communication Yakubu Dati, said the government regrets the incident.

“The Plateau State Government wishes to commiserate with citizens of the state especially, Xland, Gindin Akwati communities of Barkin Ladi Local Government, over unfortunate recent attacks,” Mr Dati said.

“Government is deeply pained that despite concerted efforts which had led to the restoration of relative peace across the state, some unpatriotic elements are bent on disrupting the gains so far made.

“We, however, appeal to citizens not to take laws into their hands and cooperate with security agencies to prevent further break down of law and order as they track perpetrators of the evil act.”

The cleric, Pam Chollom, also told PREMIUM TIMES that over 30 houses were completely burnt by the attackers

“At Nekan, 15 houses were burnt; in Kufang, 18 houses were also burnt,” he said.

Plateau is one of the states most affected by clashes between farmers and migrant herders.

Hundreds of people have been killed in attacks linked to herdsmen in Plateau and neighbouring states like Benue since January.

CrimeRe: Nigerian Businessman Jailed For 5 Years For Importing Container Load Of Tramadol by emmanuelex1(m): 11:59am On Jun 24, 2018
What do Nigerians think tramadol is? People choose to abuse it does not mean it has lost its medical use.
Newshelm:
A Federal High Court in Lagos, on Friday, sentenced a businessman, Ifeanyi Ezeanwu, to five years imprisonment, over importation of a container load of Tramadol and other sex enhancing drugs.

The convict was sentenced by Justice Hadiza Rabiu-Shagari, after the National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration Control (NAFDAC) had reviewed the facts of the charge before the court.

The convict was first arraigned before the court in February 2015, on a one count charge of unlawful importation of the said drugs.

Apart from series of Tramadol tablets, other banned drugs said to have been imported by the convict include: Ibamol tablet of 50 mg, and Heogra tablet of 150 mg.

The offence, according to the prosecution, contravenes the provisions of section 1(a) of the Counterfeit and Fake Drugs and Unwholesome Processed Foods (Miscellaneous provision) Act Cap. C34, Law of the Federation 2004.

The convict had pleaded not guilty during his first arraignment, but when the case came up at the last adjourned date, he changed his plea to guilty, while the court adjourned the case until today, for a review of fact and sentence.

Reviewing the facts of the case on Friday, the prosecutor, Umar Shamaki, narrated to the court how the convict was arrested by NAFDAC operatives.

Mr Shamaki also tendered several items which including the convict’s confessional statements, samples of banned drugs, which were admitted as exhibits by the court.

After the review, the prosecutor urged the court to sentence the convict according to Section 3(1) of NAFDAC Act.

Mr Shamaki told the court that the NAFDAC Act prescribed a payment of N500,000 fine, or a prison term not less than five years and not more than 15 years.

Meanwhile, counsel to the convict, Vivian Ekwegh pleaded with the court, to be lenient in sentencing the accused, as he was a first time offender.

In sentencing the convict, Justice Rabiu-Shagari, held: “the prosecution has been able to prove its case beyond reasonable doubt, especially, as there is no other way of proving a case than self-admittance”.

She, consequently, convicted and sentenced the convict to a term of five years imprisonment from date of arrest.

The court, however, gave the convict an option of fine of N300,000.

Nigeria is in big problem” – UK-based Nigerian doctor warns
herald.ng Jun 15, 2018 11:18 AM

A UK-based Nigerian doctor, Dr Harvey Olufunmilayo, has decried the huge number of Nigerian doctors seeking greener pastures abroad.

Olufunmilayo, who practises in Leeds, said about 1,000 Nigerian doctors passed the Plab1 exam in March 2018 to enable them practice in the UK.

The Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) had in January 2018 said that there were 4,000 patients to one doctor in Nigeria, describing the trend as unacceptable.

Olufunmilayo, who took to his Twitter handle, explained that four million Nigerian patients would be denied access to a doctor should the 1,000 doctors leave Nigerian shores.

He said, “In March, about 1,500 doctors wrote the Plab1 exam to work in the UK and about 1,000 passed. In a country that 1 doctor cares for about 4,000 patients; losing 1,000 doctors means 4million Nigerians will find it harder to see a doctor. We are playing with fire as a nation.

“Remember this analysis is based solely on the March 2018 Plab Exams alone. The same exam is written twice a year in Nigeria. And with more hardship, more doctors will be writing by November 2018. And we are yet to talk of those going to other countries like USA or Canada.

“We have a big problem on our hands. There is a big fire burning and everyone is looking away thinking all is well. We largely have under-equipped hospitals with underpaid/overworked staff and overpopulated patients. Now with more health professionals’ exit, what will happen?

“Have we decided that we will wait till our hospitals turn to museums with antique outdated equipments that has no professional to utilise them for sick and dying patients before we realise the grave danger associated with this continuous exit of medical workers from the country?

“I was having a chat with a younger colleague friend preparing for the exam. She’s part of a WhatsApp group that is already full to the brim – with 256 doctors preparing to take the same exams to leave the country. And she said she knows at least 2 of such full groups. Oh Lord!

“My people, let’s be clear – doctors are working on their exit on a daily basis. This fire we are ignoring, when it burns, and it wil, no one will be spared. Even if you are rich, even if you are powerful, someone you know will fall victim of this same health sector you are destroying.

“And as I stated earlier, 1 Nigerian doctor should take care of 4000 Nigerians. Losing 1,000 doctors (based on the March 2018 Plab UK exams alone) is effectively making it extremely difficult for 4 million Nigerians to see a doctor. How are you in government and comfortable with this?

“And if you are a government official and you are thinking you have the money and/or the means to always take care of yourself or your family in some overseas country if you fall sick, then let me explain to you why that reasoning is retarded and very daft. Because sadly, it really is.

“There are medical calamities that befall a person and requires immediate intervention. If you have a sudden heart attack or a serious stroke or severe sepsis, such an emergency can’t wait for you to get on a private jet. You will be taken to the same hospitals that you ruined.

“I don’t need to mention names but many government officials have also been rushed to the same under-equipped hospitals with underpaid unmotivated staff, and those your colleagues in government died from things that could be easily prevented IF you ever paid any attention to the health sector.”

Until you have acquired wisdom and understanding, never bring any child to this world.
Hahahahah, relaxing in my office. Sending your types on errands because of inability to discern

Wow! I am jobless? if this is true, it means my joblessness is your dream and that of most average Nigerian graduates, because my joblessness can pay your job, your siblings school fees and your parents upkeep.

I can see you are yet to realise that you are bereft of common sense having read the news. This is why you are still jobless. Lack of common sense and comprehension

How are we sure he is not a paid witness?
ChangeIsCostant:
Yesterday, it was reported that the convoy of the Ekiti All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Kayode Fayemi allegedly knocked down and killed a police officer during the party's rally in the state. The deceased identified as Inspector Kayode Gabriel of the State Intelligence Bureau (SIB) – was due for promotion to the rank of ASP next week before he killed in the accident.

Fresh report has emerged as to what led to the tragic death of the policeman.

An eyewitness reportedly recounted what happened. Below is what he wrote;

I was at the scene of this accident that happened in the front of captain cook this morning. It was a Sienna Bus that hit the victims as they were trying to cross from one side of the road to other side. Unfortunately one of the victims could not survive it.lt was the same Sienna Bus that they used to carry the two men involved to the hospital.

Meanwhile, the Ekiti State Police Command has refuted claims that the convoy of the All Progressive Candidate, Dr Kayode Fayemi knocked down a police officer.

The Command Public Relation Officer, Mr Caleb Nwachukwu, however, told Vanguard that a Toyota Sienna Van with registration number: Lagos X2874 Eky knocked down two pedestrians on Bashiri road just before the newly constructed over head bridge.

Those affected in the accident were one Anayomi Ismailia and a yet to be identified police officer.

He said the convoy of the Vice President and Fayemi came in through the Ikere axis of the State capital around 12 noon, while the incident in question happened around 9am.

Saraki is more qualified than buhari. Case closed
AnonyNymous:
President of which country? I hope you don't mean Nigeria.

Is it because he has a nice smile and charisma? Because I see no other quality that makes him qualified to lead this country.

Good write up, but how does this help you?
Bobby4090:
How? Buhari finally bowed to his Tinubus wishes and Oyegun his enemy is been sent packing to his village to farm. All federal properties in Lagos are being released one by one to Lagos state Government free of charge and even Atiku who was Tinubus rival in APC then has ran away to another party.
Tinubu cannot have a better time like this to enjoy the fruits of his labour. He who laughs last laughs longest!
