yMcy56: I could read someone even said they planted since 2020, why aren't they producing now...
My thought is: how many years does it take a palm tree to start producing fruits? If you can get the idea of this, then you wouldn't even be making reckless or careless post or asking questions out of ignorance.
These guys planted from scratch and it takes a typical palm tree 6-8 years to grow (according to findings), yet someone was expecting huge revenue from trees yet to even mature.
One of the plans is to acquire an existing farm which can fast tract things, yet some wouldn't stop have issues over a sector they knew next to nothing about. To the best of my knowledge, tenera seeds is the most planted palm fruit seeds which takes 5 years to mature. There are latest seeds that grows in 3 years if am right while the local seeds which people hardly plants takes more than 5 years and even harder to harvest because the tree goes taller |

emmanuelewumi: The forecast is not from Ellah Lakes but from Meristem Research. They have analysts that research different sectors of the economy.
The essence of this research is to guide investors about their expectations.
Up till now the management of Ellah Lakes have not been able to give us their forecast for the next 5 years Yes, i noticed it now. Better because a revenue of 4b in 2029 looks very very small compared to my valuation and expectations on the stock. |

Based on Ellah Lakes releases company's note, we should be expecting tangible PAT of 1.2b around 2028, that is more than 3 years from now.
Revenue of 4b with a PAT of around 1.5b in 2029 is very very abysmal compared to the massive share dilution going on. With expected final OS of about 5b and 2029 PAT of 1.5b, the is a forecasted EPS of 30k with implied price of #3 using 10x PE. This is not impressive at all and it seems the current price is highly over-valued. Moreover, what kind of palm fruit did they plant since 2020 that will just be generating sales by 2028?
I am not impressed with the company's management at all

This follows last week’s deployment of three amphibious ships with 4,500 troops. You are deploying these huge weapons and armies for just drug cartels? Not rebels, not militants, not paramilitaries but drug cartels? If I am right, is it not police or advance police like mopol or armed drug enforcement officers to do this job instead of a war trained armies? |

Maduro's elections were completely rigged. Russia's presence in Venezuela is noticeable, and Iran's influence is growing.
The Iranians are building drone manufacturing plants there, right in our hemisphere.
Additionally, the Venezuelan regime issues illegitimate but genuine passports to Hezbollah forces.
Interesting, there is always an excuse for invading and destabilizing other countries .... Always. There is this, there is that Only you in Ukraine, Isreal, Taiwan, Syria, Lebanon and now Venezuela. How is their election your problem? Are you the only country in the world? Why always US? At the end of the day, others are the problem and not them/allies. So it is okay to be funding and arming Ukraine to fight Russia in Russia's sphere, arming Taiwan in China's sphere but wrong to do that in your sphere? Make it make sense to me |

As a naija person imagine the cost of ticket from naija to new Zealand, then think of flying out then returning every year. At the end of the day no meaningful saving go de. Where do you live? Does your wife work? What do you do for a living? Do you pay rent or own your property? What assets do you have? What is the age range of the 500 children that you have? Why did you go on to have 500 children in the first place? Were you not alive when Buhari destroyed the Nigerian economy between 2015 - 2019? So, why have 500 children then blaming an innocent Tinubu? Tinubu sef does not have 500 children, nor his son Seyi. They are fond of blaming the current government or economy on their woes. Useless people. You will see them claim they have what it takes to take care of their kids when warning them. Some will say mind your business, they didn't come to beg you for money to train them. The truth is, when you look deeper to their claim of being able to take care of their families, you will see it is just so called Basic life - eat basic food, pay average school fees and that is all. You will think these set of people can even give above average life to their kids and themselves for claiming to have what it takes for breeding like rabbits - eat balance diet (emphasis on BALANCED and not just eating to survive), good schools (emphasis on Good and not just basic), then we go into extracurricular activities like swimming, boxing/taekwando, music class, going to cinemas for movies, occasional outings and vacations, even health/education/life insurance for principal and beneficiaries. You will think most of these idiots breeding like rabbits have all these but NO, majority don't yet they boast of how they have what it takes to take care of a large family. |

Except church guys whose parents sponsor the wedding most young guys aren't even matured emotionally for serious relationship. The older guys are not the best option too but which is better? How many times have you seen a rich man blackmail his ex or share her nudes?

WriterrNg: ⚡Ukraine is reportedly arming and training Islamist militants in Africa to target Russian allies, according to a new Izvestia investigation citing unnamed sources.
Ukrainian GUR operatives, allegedly using diplomatic cover, delivered drones to the ADF, an Islamist group active near the Uganda–DR Congo border.
Objective: destabilize pro-Russian governments and strike Russian PMC-linked sites in the region.
Ukrainian UAV instructors have also been observed in Mali, CAR, and Sudan. They are said to train militants in advanced drone warfare and have been seen using NATO country passports.
DR Congo and Russia maintain strong partnerships, making them a reported target of this covert sabotage strategy That is not Ukraine please. Ukraine is too broke and struggling to keep the country together for such far war. This is the US/Nato in cover fighting Russia allies to topple them and install pro-US governments. |

franchasng: I acknowledge the points you raised as very big factors in what has been responsible for increase in poverty among Nigerians.
But those aside, how about those that have good jobs but refused to control the way and manner they produce children with the belief that God will take care of them?
Birthing more than 2 kids is not ideal for average income earners in Nigeria of today. Couples should restrict their child bearing to just 2 whether boy or girl, they are all the same in our evolving world of today. Gone are the days of seeing a male child as a superior child just because of lineage continuation.
Many guys got good job, started well and ended up marrying one zero ambition, lazy, zero talent, zero skill, zero dream girl in the name of mistaken love, and such marriage end up destroying all their hardwork and future prospect.
Marriage is very critical to every man's future. Who you marry matters a lot. I am married and I am telling you this from experience.
Many great guys doing well for themselves got slowed down and some sent back to square one by the woman they married.
Don't waive laziness aside. There are lazy Nigerians, or haven't you heard about some Nigerians that traveled to western countries with opportunities and came back home in the name of the culture there is too different, who does that if not the rich? Examples abound all over the place so don't think there are no poor Nigerians that became poor out of their own laziness and zero ambition/push for success.
Let me stop here for now I totally agree |

seunny4lif: BREAKING!! RUSSIA STRIKES AZERBAIJANI (ISRAELI) OIL ASSETS IN ODESSA!!
Russian Geran-2 drones have struck the Usatovo area in Ukraine’s Odessa region, targeting both a rail station and a fuel terminal operated by SOCAR, Azerbaijan’s state oil company.
This follows a similar Russian strike on August 6, when a SOCAR oil depot in Orlivka was hit, injuring employees and damaging the facility.
SOCAR operates energy infrastructure across Ukraine, including terminals and logistics hubs. These repeated strikes have raised alarms in Baku.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev condemned the attacks and warned that Azerbaijan may reconsider its ban on supplying weapons to Ukraine if Russian strikes on Azerbaijani-linked energy sites continue.
These incidents come amid sharply rising tensions between Moscow and Baku, with SOCAR’s presence in Ukraine becoming an unexpected flashpoint in the broader conflict. What is it with Russia and Azerbaijan? The tension is really getting strong |
Romance › Re: Why Does Society Expect Faithfulness From Successful Men In Relationships? by emmaodet: 4:54am On Aug 18, 2025 |
Gerrard59: My issue is married women withholding sex from their husbands. Aside from outsiders dictating to someone how to spend their money, there is nothing I detest than a married woman who deliberately denies her husband sex even when the man fulfills his side of being a husband.
The tales from married men of being denied sex, begging for sex and doing all sorts just to make their wives happy all in the bid to get sex is very worrisome. At the same time, the man gets criticised when he goes outside. I'm yet to read any pastor talk about this issue. I think most times, the women are too comfortable in the marriage. Don't get it twisted, women on average like sex just as men. The same women withholding sex will do nasty things with a junkie outside or start having sex for survival regularly in the man divorces her or the she becomes a widow and needs to survive on a relationship. The painful truth the society is shying away from is that for most women to perform, they have to be on a slight pressure and not on a relax mode - polygamy if it is affordable (so that it will be in a woman's interest to keep performing to her hubby, else would be pushed aside and forgotten) or a man should forget marriage and just keep women in relationships, that way, it is in her best interest to be having sex regularly with her boyfriend else, the man has a good excuse for dating someone else which may lead to kicking her out. The best solution to a non-challant attitude or laziness is OPTIONS. Workers would keep working lazily and keep raising their demands until they know they can be easily replaced, then they buckle up and start putting their best in order not to get out of job |

emmanuelewumi: Another thing to consider is the quality of the earnings.
Some profits are not backed by cash.
I expect a free cash flow conversion of at least 70%
That is free cash flow/profit after tax.
Profit should also be from operation. Some businesses that are popular here made profits through the disposal of their assets or tax credits. This is not sustainable
Continuous reduction in ROE and margins are also red flags I agree with you. The first red flag i notice is continuous reduction in revenue followed by dwindling margins. Those are No..no for me. They are early warnings e.g Tripple Gee. If revenue is dwindling Q on Q and YoY, na to start to dey prepare my kaiya t run. Another is CCC (cash conversion Cycle) for manufacturing / consumer / production companies. If your payable days are increasing - struggling to pay suppliers, Inventory conversion ratio increasing - struggling to produce and fill up goods and also struggling to sell, Receivables oustanding increasing - struggling to collect your cash from customers / literarily begging customers to take and sell your goods, it is a big redflag to me. Inventory increasing faster than revenue and earnings Receivables increasing faster than revenue and earnings to name a few |
