emmanuelewumi: Presco should have H1 EPS of about N100 and full year EPS of N200 Yes, I am expecting #200 EPS for Presco FY too. Honestly, Nahco is still my best so far in dividends because they payout 90%. I am always happy receiving their dividends Took some ucap loans to accumulate more Nahco and wapco late last year and early this year and never regretted it |

emmanuelewumi: I prefer using EV/ EBIT or EV/EBITDA- Capex.
If I must use EBITDA, I will subtract Capex.
It gives a better and cleaner valuation Nice one. I think I will be using the EV/EBITDA - Capex to compare too now. 🙏 |

stokfrick: Corruption is what will keep killing everything in this country including the ngx. Every now and then they'll come on the news and be urging nigerians and local investors to take advantage o the NSE, but how will it work when the system cannot be trusted? The level of insider trading going on in the Nigerian stock exchange is alarming! All those who work there and in the quoted companies, are deeply involved in this! Before a company's result comes out, they've already seen it, and the price have moved far even before it becomes public. Highly demoralizing!! It's a shame really. It is the reason so many things and sectors are not working in Nigeria. It is the reason our level of education has gone down. How do you encourage pupils to study hard and read when some are seeing the waec and jamb questions before exam. Student seeing questions in school before test and exams in internal school exams. Such system does not encourage hard work, researches and innovation. Why spend thousands and millions to learn fundamental and technical analysis courses when you can get results before they are made public ? |

YOU VO: Good morning and why are you going to the US? Me: Good morning, I'm going to my cousin's graduation at Uni of MD.
If this visa transcript is real, then the failure starts from here. When you are not the biological or adopted parent , or the authorized ward or direct sibling with convincing reason of attendance, there is no way any U.S. consular will issue the visa.
YOU VO: What do you do for a living? Me: I'm a senior data analyst at ...
U.S. visa officers are conversant with Nigeria salary level/scales. I am not disputing your salary here, but the consular may dispute it based on your highest qualification as indicated in your ds-160. Therefore, your 1.3m NGN might be funny.
YOU VO: Have you been outside Nigeria before? Me: Yes, I've been to Moz, ..., and ... VO: And all these were in the last 5 years? Me: Yes, Moz in 2022 ... and ... in 2023
The visa officer was indirectly saying, " Why are you traveling all about unnecessarily? Okay, you were doing this in order to come and claim travel history points ?
YOU VO: You said you visited Moz, why did you go there? Me: I'm a lover of African culture and nature. Plus, they speak Portuguese, which is closely related to Spanish, and I speak Spanish.
Here, the visa officer is justified by your flimsy or unreasonable reasons. ? because you love African culture and nature......
YOU VO: Habla portugués? Me: No, hablo español (we both laughed)
Unfortunately for you, the visa officer is a master in spanish, and he or she was laughing at you because you failed the verbal test woefully. If you can speak spanish averagely (which is very related to portugués) and you went to Mozambique because they speak Portuguese, so you can not reply the visa officer with " Bom dia ", (Good morning in Portuguese ) ? So you dont know any Portuguese word at all, and you traveled to Mozambique for the love of the language perhaps more than once ?
YOU VO: Are you married? Me: No, I'm engaged
VO: The house you stay, is it rented or you own it?
When did the visa officer start asking this kind of question (the house you stay, 👆?
Me: It's a rented apartment VO: Who do you live with? Me: Oh, I live with my fiancée.
Anyways , you have zero ties to Nigeria.
YOU Them just dey share blue paper anyhow 🤣 Didn't ask me or anyone else to see any documents, except for i20 for the F1 visas. Not even DS160s, I believe they have attached our ds160 to our passport, so the VO only ask for passport.
They will share blue papers to those who are not qualified. U.S. visa is not a piece of cake. Besides, it seems you get it wrong on the DS-160. If they have attached your DS-160 to your passport, did you not see it inside your passport? The most important information to the visa officer the moment both of you meet is your DS-160 slip. Or they have stopped collecting ds160 confirmation slip. 👍 Chaii |

Probably only 1 person got approved before me but who cares?
Transcript
VO: Good morning and why are you going to the US? Me: Good morning, I'm going to my cousin's graduation at Uni of MD. VO: Where does your cousin live? Me: He lives in TX VO: How long are you going to stay? Me: 2 weeks VO: What do you do for a living? Me: I'm a senior data analyst at ... VO: Have you been outside Nigeria before? Me: Yes, I've been to Moz, ..., and ... VO: And all these were in the last 5 years? Me: Yes, Moz in 2022 ... and ... in 2023 VO: You said you visited Moz, why did you go there? Me: I'm a lover of African culture and nature. Plus, they speak Portuguese which is closely related to Spanish, and I speak Spanish. VO: Habla portugués? Me: No, hablo español (we both laughed) VO: How much do you earn? Me: 1.3m, (he didn't hear, so I repeated it) VO: Are you married? Me: No, I'm engaged VO: The house you stay, is it rented or you own it? Me: It's a rented apartment VO: Who do you live with? Me: Oh, I live with my fiancée.
Then he really typed some stuffs for almost 2 minutes(no kidding), then he gave the blue paper with the generic statement that I can reapply again
Them just dey share blue paper anyhow 🤣 Didn't ask me or anyone else to see any documents, except for i20 for the F1 visas. Not even DS160s, I believe they have attached our ds160 to our passport, so the VO only ask for passport.

Streetinvestor2: How do dey even do the calculations for the ASI. I think wayo dey the thing. How can few positive movement in big stock be dragging it up any how If few mega caps is dragging the ASI up, that signals caution in the market because it is topping and a reversal may happen sooner. The market breadth is diverging from the ASI price. The numbers of stocks reaching new highs and supporting the upward movement is declining compared to the ones dragging it down |

Family › Re: Why Do African Family Members Expect Money From People Abroad? by emmaodet: 3:03pm On Jul 18, 2025 |
Gerrard59: Then there's no cultural obligation from you because the argument might be if your dad isn't financially stable, his children should assist the children of his (your dad) siblings.
Fair enough.
Yes, that's of the effects of marrying a White woman. So, hopefully they in Nigeria are mentally ready. Bar them from viewing your social media updates.
Maybe it's because I've a soft spot for high academic achievers and know how financially tasking job hunting can be, especially for those outside Lagos and Abuja, I would suggest support those who are serious. But please, verify o. Ask questions and seek evidence. Hard evidence. |
Family › Re: Why Do African Family Members Expect Money From People Abroad? by emmaodet: 12:00pm On Jul 18, 2025 |
Gerrard59: As usual, the problem is too many children. It's bad that your dad didn't contribute to your education or leave a legacy for you and your siblings. It's also bad that your distant cousins are disturbing you every now and then. In your dad's defence about him sending money home. In some cultures and families, one child is supported by the rest of the family to exit Nigeria. So, it's expected that the child remembers others in Nigeria. If that was the case of your dad, it's only fair he supports those at home. However, this should be to a limit as his children (you and your siblings) now come first.
As for your cousins, the best you can do would be to support any or those (as you can support) who are doing something useful with their lives. So, if one is prepping for say the GRE or applying to jobs and needs a bit of financial support, fair enough to lend a helping hand. But for those with endless rent, school fees, everyday sickness, say no. Mind you, even the job hunters and postgraduate applicants, always verify the authenticity of their demands. Our people are innately dishonest.
For those with children, before you lend help, ask them how many children do you have? Those with three and above? Don't help them. The best you can do is to pay for the man's vasectomy.
Best regards. You to get bad mouth bro |

jonnysessy: Like play like play, this NASCON had reached N80, right from the time i was monitoring from sub 40. This is now double the price. Well, since it still have prospect I may enter with some afolabi unit to enjoy small gain too. Eyin omo Aye..... The last time i checked the price for the valuation, it was #74.9....now it is almost #83... just 17% upside my valuation which is really not encouraging anymore. Too many fast fingers they Ngx |
Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by emmaodet: 9:05am On Jul 18, 2025 |
I don't know how Nascon has been moving below my radar all this while without noticing. The company is been run well. Good income statement, Balance sheet is impressive and cash flow statement very nice. Some observations - DIO = 67 - Inventory sits in warehouse on an average 67 days before been sold. That is a bit on the high side. Should be less than a month. Signals not so much demand or high competition from other players in the market. DSO = 28 days - average days to get back receivables which is good. DPO = 12 days - Takes 12 days to pay suppliers. Overall - Cash get used up faster, tied up compared to the time taken to generate cash. In the mean time, the FCF and OCF are positive and increasing. CCC = 82 - it takes on average 82 days to buy(use up cash) inventory, process it, sell and get back cash (generate). Capex/Dep is 0.6 - 60% of depreciation is capital expenditure. The machines are depreciating faster than the money invested back into them to avoid breakdowns and increase production on the long run. Current Price #74.9. At P/E of 10, my implied FY price should be around #100. roughly a 25% upside |

WritterNg: People wey don crase finish. The worst thing to be in isreal is a male child... like, how do you keep fighting virtually everyday. Everyday. From Gaza to west bank to iran to syria to lebanon to yemen etc and we believe others are the problem and not you? What is Isreal's problem with what is happening in Syria to warrant bombing their presidential area. Can you imagine the level of brutality? blowing up Syria's Aso rock and defence head quarter ... for a country not attacking you for goodness sake.. yet you will turn back crying you can't sleep with your 2 eyes close around your neighbors. How will you sleep with your 2 eyes close in such condition. Just imagine Nigeria invading Cameroun because Cameroun is attacking and killing the english speaking part (which were formerly part of Nigeria/Calabar/Akwa Ibom people) and then blowing Cameroun's defence headquarter in Yaounde and their presidential villa.. Please make it make sense to me. With all the issues we are having in Nigeria, it is bombing Cameroun, Benin, Togo regularly that should be my problem. How can you have such a safe neighbor when you are a constant nuisance to them. Invading Cameroun, creating a buffer zone by snatching the western part because they are killing Ibaka people, then go ahead bombing Niger republic and invading her south to snatch more lands because Boko Haram has been using it to come to Nigeria to attack and go back. Snatch Chan Land and Niger because the fulanis their are been killed everyday by Bokoharam and we need to protect them in a bigger Nigeria map... just make it make sense to me. |
