@emmasoft I don't know your position in Investment One but I commend your effort in trying to resolve customer issues raised on this platform. BUT I have a question still: Is the email account not monitored? I wonder why a customer's enquiry will go unanswered for weeks. Actually, it's a rhetoric question. One of those little things that are often overlooked by organisations or people in business.
Though I don't have your details, but I have tried to escalate your complain as much as I can.

Abeg any chairman in the house using investment one app to buy stock, can you please direct me on how to go past "the opt-in" wait period when buying stock there for the first time?

I switched from trove app to investment one so I can have a fast execution, but since I deposited in the account I keep getting "opt-in" when I tried to buy any stock for over 2 weeks now.

My account has been verified and everything is okay with the account. I've seen messages to the investment one customer support regarding the issue but they yet to respond for over 2 weeks now.

Please, what can I do to purchase stocks on the investment one app without it telling me to opt-in everything and declining the trade?
@jadyclem Kindly chat me up with the number on my signature. I need to ask you some details that may not be proper to do here.

By the way have you open cscs/trading account before downloading the app?

I need some clarification how will they determine those to be paid N86 .Is there a qualification date to use to determine this.l saw in the scheme of arrangement record date as 25th September 2024 and closure of register date as 25 - 27 September 2024.

For example l bought some units on 25 September 2024 will l be listed in the register l am asking because of the T +3 days that is used for settlement date
Don't bother yourself of dates. Every shareholder that has the shares before the stock is placed on suspension when the delisting is taking place proper will be paid off. All minority shareholders will be settled.

So to put simple term, is it charged per annum on the accrued interest or the total invested sum?
charged on all invested sum at a given time. Though it's per annum it can be applied daily, monthly quarterly etc.

Just know that whatever rate you see displayed, all fees are already deducted otherwise it will be stated.

The 1.5% p.a management charge by Stanbic IBTC money market, is it deducted from the daily interest or charged as a lump sum at the end of every year?

@emmasoft
Management fees is charge on Asset under management (AUM) is per annum. What you see as the rate is net of fees.

You can always go through the funds fact sheet sent every month for details.

Please, regarding the Stanbic IBTC MMF, can one DIY or it must be done through a bank official?

I was at one of the Stanbic branches today, the way the person in charge there was hustling me eh. He was like I need to make payment to an account(bearing his name), then I will be sent a password blah blah blah.

Asking if I was ready to start immediately, got me a bit scared huh

@emmasoft
I have always explained here on this platform that in terms of operations and scope of work and interest, stanbic ibtc bank and stanbic asset management are two different companies.
It's true they belong to the same holding company but they are actually different.
Going to a stanbic ibtc bank doesn't make you closer to stanbic asset management.

Most times the people you meet in the banking hall don't even know what stanbic asset management do in the real sense.

I will advice anyone who wish to deal with stanbic asset management to do that directly. You don't actually need a third party to relate with them.
Even when I say you should use my link to register, you are actually dealing with them directly not passing through me.

You can open account even this night if you wish.

Click the first link on my signature and complete the form online, by tomorrow your account details will be sent to you and you can start investing immediately.

You can also reach out to me if you want further clarity on how MMF work. My number is on my signature

How long will it take my brokers for it to reflect in my portfolio ? Or are they doing selective crediting of account. See the rate at which people is offloading UCAP. sad
Please note that most of the software all the stockbroking firm use for their trading account only reflects buy and sell activities and not holdings from bonuses.

However, you can instruct your stockbroker to credit your trading account with your bonus shares.
Bonuses are credited to your cscs account not trading account, also note that you don't need to wait for your bonus shares to reflect in your trading account before you can sell. An investor can sell any holdings in cscs even if it's not showing on the trading account and it will go through.

@emmasoft, please can your shed more light on norrenberger islamic funds, is the capital secured and is there provision for compounding over a period of time. I will also like to know more about the dollar funds.how can i submit the form after filling it. Thanks
@Shady92, Please see product details attached.

The fund is invested into carefully selected sharia compliant and halal instrument, the fund pays quarterly profit (not interest) to its investors, the compounding option also applies to the fund.

After completing the form, chat me up with the number on my signature an account officer will be attached to you so that a quick follow up can be done on your account opening.

The dollar fund invest in eurobonds and it's price based, hence the value fluctuates as the price moves, it's good if you have long term in view and it will help to hedge against the local currency devalution and inflation which is on the increase currently.

Good afternoon everyone.

I already have an account with one of the Nigerian stock brokers, but I want to open another account which will be strictly for short term trading.

In summary, I want to be using one account for short term trading, and the second for long term investment.

Please, How do I go about it?
It's simple, go ahead and open another account in another stockbroking firm, while completing the account opening form in the new firm, indicate your current CHN so that both accounts will have the same CHN, cscs account number will always differ from one firm to the other.

Click the 3rd link on my signature to pick Investment One stockbroking firm as one of the firms you wish to do business with. Customer service is top notch at investment one.

INVEST WISELY WHETHER IN A BULL OR BEAR MARKET

Don’t be carried away with the BULL nor the BEAR, all investors should still do their due diligence before investing in any stock even when it’s recommended because in the long run, investors must take responsibility for their decision not the analysist/the market or financial adviser.
It was one of the mistakes investors/market players made in 2006 to early 2008 (BULL) and 2020 (BEAR)

In a bull market even non-fundamentally sound stocks appreciate in price by way of positive sentiments around the market and in a bear market even fundamentally sound stocks prices can nosedive, Invest wisely

I wish everyone a good investing experience ahead!

Thanks for the clarification. Although, I still think it would have been a better investment if Naira was stable. In the last 1 year, Naira has gone from #790/$ to #1600/$+. If I had #1,000,000 invested as at last November 2023 which would have been around $1,265 then. Presently I would have realized around #1,250,000, but then that will currently be around $755 in this present day. My point is Naira is too unstable, else it would have been a great investment option. We actually don’t know if Naira will still end up going to #2000/dollar.

Is there a domicilary version of mutual funds that exist in Nigeria?
The value or stability of the naira is beyond individual investor, the value of naira is determined by many other factors of the economy. It actually depends on the state of the nation's economy, though the naira depreciates, not investing at all makes it worse. Imagine inflation is over 30% and returns on MMF is between 19 to 22%. The MMF doesn't have an hedge over inflation but reduces your negative returns and if the economy improves MMF rates can actually beat inflation.

If you wish to have a guaranteed dollar investment, you can do dollar fixed deposit with Investment One where your capital and returns is guaranteed.

What I will like to know now is if there’s anything like Dollar MMF. Someone mentioned MMF beats the high inflation in Nigeria, which I don’t think might be very true. For example, what if Naira has twice the devaluation of what it is presently after setting up MMF, then the returns wouldn’t be profitable. For this reason, I believe a dollar version of this is better.

But you mentioned Dollar Funds to be at 9.48% and you mentioned it is risky because of dollar drop. I don’t understand. How is Dollar funds risky, and how is it different from Naira MMF?
@Rockyfancino please note the following:

We have different types of mutual funds, MMF is just one of them and dollar fund is another type of mutual fund it's not the dollar version of MMF.
They don't operate similarly because of the currency and the underlying assets. Actually, most mutual funds are named and categorized based on the underlying asset.

To say the rate of MMF beat inflation is not a correct statement, Also to say I mention the dollar fund being risky because the dollar will drop is not correct, what I mean by dollar fund being risky is that the underlying assets are Eurobonds which is price based, that is the value changes with price movement and the capital invested is not guaranteed like the one invested in MMF.
The major upside of a dollar fund is that it hedges against the devaluation of local currency and protects the value of your currency during a high inflation regime

MMF and dollar funds are two different products under the mutual fund category of investment widows.

In most cases, MMF is seen as a Low-risk investment while a dollar fund is in the moderate or medium-risk investment category

The two funds serve different purposes.

When it comes to investment everything is not just about rate, other factors are considered before an investor picks any form of investment.

Please note that MMF and dollar funds are not the same. Apart from the currency involved mode of operations and returns differ, the 9.48% I mention is from the Norrenberger dollar fund and should be one of the highest in the industry if not the highest. Most dollar funds range from 6 to 8.5%
