Sorry if this is coming in late. Pertaining to your question, the US does not in any way see degrees gotten after MBBS as worthwhile.
No matter your husband's level of practice, he'll be required to take and pass the USMLE Step 1, Step 2 CK, Step 2 CS, and Step 3. Asides that, i don't think there's any other way.

There are alot of medical schools that are cheap. The university of Ibadan and Lagos for example, cost less than 40 k per year for tuition.

Why not help yourself first and be earning $700 and above. With it you don't have to be asking for 1k fee to help people

@op, I Understand where you're coming from, but you can't categorise education in Nigeria to be generally scam. It all depends on you, you decide whether you'll embrace whats given to you and think practically or you'll just struggle to pass exams and not learn much.
That mbbs from ui is recognised everywhere and such person can further use it to apply for plab or Usmle and head to the United states or United Kingdom.
