Heartbroken friends and colleagues have taken to social media to mourn the death of a young Nigerian lady, who passed away recently.

The deceased identified as Quadri Ikimot Damilola, welcomed a bouncing baby on Monday, February 4th and also celebrated her birthday the next day being Tuesday.

The young mother died on Wednesday, February 6th (two days after birth), leaving behind her husband and the new child.

The main cause of her death was not disclosed as friends have taken to Facebook to share their pains.

May her soul rest in peace.

A young man identified as Yahya Usman Ahmad, has been hailed by fellow Nigerians after showing his talent by building an airplane model with locally sourced materials.

The 20-year-old First Class Mathematics student from the College of Education in Yola, Adamawa state, constructed the plane model which took him some weeks – by using locally fabricated materials.

After pictures of his work surfaced online, Nigerians are now calling on the government to take advantage of the boy’s talent and harness his potentials.

Enugu State police command has arrested a notorious kidnapping ring, specialized in abducting children especially from schools located in the six local government councils in Enugu east senatorial zone for sale.

Sources said the two ladies, one Nkeiruka Odo from Imilike Agu village in Udenu council area of Enugu State and Precious Chukwuemeka Chineneye from Aguleri, Anambra State have continued to terrorize residents with their nefarious attitude.

They were said to have enticed children with beautiful dresses, Biscuits, Chin-Chin, and Candies among others.They had last month abducted one Ugwu Levi Chiagozie from a Nursery school located in Imilike Ani, Udenu and whisked him away to Anambra State where they handed him over to a nurse for sale.They were however, arrested Monday, when they attempted to abduct a child at a certain Primary school located at Imilike Ani, Udenu area.

An accident happened early this morning along Iponri-ijora bridge in Lagos following a robbery incident.

It was gathered that a woman who was attacked by a group of armed robbers bashed another vehicle while trying to escape from the hoodlums in traffic.

The robbers were trying to break her glass and in the process of trying to maneuver her way to escape, she bashed another car.

It was scooped that the traffic robbers still made away with her valuables.

The Police in Lagos have arrested one of the suspected killers of the Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer of Etashol hotels and suites, Mrs. Olusola Olusoga and her Business Manager, Tunji Omikunle.

Surprisingly, the suspect, Vincent Ehizojie, was discovered to be an employee of the hotel. Four other workers that are still on the run, were discovered to be involved in the murder saga.

It would be recalled that the lifeless bodies of London based Olusoga and her Business Manager, Omikunle, were discovered in their separate rooms in the hotel located in Ojodu Berger area of Lagos, on January 25,2019.

A retired Deputy Controller General of Prisons, Dr Adewale Oloyede, has been murdered alongside his orderly, Dauda Yusuf Michael, a Senior Inspector of Prisons, SIP, by yet to be identified gunmen near Osara town in Kogi State.

Spokesman of the Nigerian Prisons Service, DCP Francis Enobore, said , yesterday, in Abuja that the retired officer was travelling to Lagos in his private car when they were attacked at about 3 pm last Friday.

He said: “A medical doctor by profession, the late officer headed the Directorate of Health and Social Welfare for several years before retiring in 2007.

An Osun state High Court has sentenced three persons to death for Killing one Timileyin Sonibare, for money rituals.

Timileyin Sonibare, who was a 400 Level students the Osun State University, was killed on the 26th of June 2017, at Oke Baale area in Osogbo, while his head and arm were also cut off and roasted by the convicts.

In the two hours judgement delivered by Justice Kudirat Akano, the court said the prosecution has proved his case beyond reasonable duobt.

The man who sat on the road in Port Harcourt to protest about not getting help for his sick child after spending all he had, has allegedly absconded with the money Nigerians raised for his son’s treatment.

Recall that the Man whose son has days to live, had accused of beating him up when he sat with his sick baby at Rivers Government House gate. He told report Chukwudi Akasike;

I sat there for close to two hours and when the security men saw that people were coming there to ask me questions about my baby’s situation and were snapping and videoing me (and I think then the governor wanted to go out for a campaign); the security operatives came where I was and dragged me into a Hilux pick-up truck, about 10 of them, beat me up, dragged my child and nearly broke his arm. They carried me inside the vehicle and continued beating me.

A family is in pains following the tragedy which befell two brothers in Gboko area of Benue state.

According to reports, the victims identified as Simon and Uzochukwu Egbogu, from Idemili north L. G.A Anambra state, were involved in a gas explosion alleged to have been caused by a Dangote gas tank.

It was gathered that a driver of Dangote cement truck brought the leaking gas tank to the shop of the deceased to wield and lied that the tank has been washed.

In the course of wielding the tank which had leftover gas, it exploded and led to the deaths of two brothers.

Four men including a Nigerian man who threatened police officers with a firearm during a vehicle pursuit in east London have been convicted, yesterday, Wednesday, 30 January, at the Old Bailey.

Lekan Akinsoji, 21, was found guilty of possession of firearm with intent to endanger life and conspiracy to commit GBH. Nathaniel Lewis, 23, was found guilty of possession of firearm with intent to endanger life and conspiracy to commit GBH.

Darnell Joseph-Newill, 21, was found guilty of possession of firearm with intent to endanger life and conspiracy to commit GBH. Troy Ifill, 22, was found guilty of possession of firearm with intent to endanger life and conspiracy to commit GBH.

All four men will be sentenced on Friday, February 8.

On 26 July 2018 at approximately 22:45hrs, police were called to reports of men in the area brandishing a firearm.

A-25-year old man identified as Ojonugwa Adejoh has been arrested by the Ondo state police command for allegedly stealing pants belonging to his brother’s wife for rituals.
Adejoh was arrested alongside with one Prophet Olajide Ogunleye (53), of Celestial Church of Christ, ‘Ibanujemidopin’, Uso, in Owo local government area of Ondo state.

Parading the suspects in Akure,the state capital on Wednesday, the State Police Public Relations Officer, Femi Joseph, a Superintendent of Police(SP) said they were arrested last week following the report by the victim.

“I went to the prophet to pray for me because of my work when I got there he asked me the type of my work and I told him I am panel beater, he said he wanted to pray for me asking me to open my hands and put something on it for me to shallow and prayed for me before leaving the place.

Members of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Isiokolo, Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State, that thronged out yesteray for the governorship campaign rally of its candidate, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, described the birth of a baby girl at the campaign ground as an indication of victory for the party.

The nursing mother, Odiri Benjamin, of Ward 10, Unit 7 in Ekaka village of Kokori, had joined other PDP faithful in the area to welcome Governor Okowa to the area when she reportedly had a contraction.

She was later delivered of a baby girl at the Council Pavilion by the medical team of the state government.

Addressing the jubilant crowd, Governor Okowa described the birth as an indication of victory for the PDP candidates at all levels.

Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State on Monday visited three traders at Kenyatta Market by Adelabu Street, Uwani, Enugu, whose shops were gutted by fire at the wee hours of yesterday to empathize with them and offer them assistance to ameliorate their loss.

Consequently, Gov. Ugwuanyi, who arrived the scene to the delight of the traders and residents of the area, consoled the victims and thanked God that no life was lost.

The governor, therefore, made a donation of N1 million to each of the victims to assist them re-establish their various businesses.

He told the victims that his administration was deeply concerned about the challenges they encountered as a result of the inferno and reassured them that his administration will not abandon them in their time of need.

A pastor received mob action and was severely dealt with after being accused of sleeping with his church member’s wives in Edo state.

According to reports, the young pastor of Army power ministry pastor in Benin city, the state capital, was apprehended by a son to one of his lovers.

The pastor was partially stripped off his clothes as he was taken to an uncompleted building where he was beaten and confessed to sleeping with the man’s mother.

The pastor also narrated how he and where he slept with the woman in Benin.

The Police has arrested four men for forcing three Senior secondary school students to chew raw chicken. The students were alleged to have been caught stealing the chicken in Akomadan area of Ghana.

The suspects are Prince Adu, 40, a farmer; Peter Owusu Aduomi, 41, CPA; Francis Osei, 31, teacher and Abukari Anaba, 57.

According to the Ashanti Regional Police Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Police Godwin Ahianyo, on January 21, 2019, the students, all juveniles, were arrested by the suspects for stealing a fowl.

And as their punishment, they were made to chew the fowl raw and were videoed while chewing the fowl. They were provided drinking water to wash down the bites to ensure they really ate the raw meat.

A journalist was stabbed to death in Abuja hours after leaving office. Chris Edoga, who works for the Radio Nigeria was attacked by unknown hoodlums on Tuesday.

Per Second News gathered that he had come to work on Tuesday for promotion exams, but it didn’t hold.

The hoodlums stabbed him on the chest and he died from the injuries Friday.

A 40-year old lady, one Ijeoma Ogbu, has been arrested after she was caught with clothes she allegedly stole at a supermarket in Lagos. The suspect was said to have pretended to have gone to buy clothes at the store but had another motive which was to steal clothes there.

She was eventually caught as she reportedly hid the clothes in her bag and attempted to escape.

It was gathered that the owner of the store had incurred the loss of several clothes in the past before luck ran out on Ijeoma and she was caught in the act. She was handed over to the police.

At the police station, the owner of the store, Awolusi Saheed, claimed that the total clothes Ijeoma had stolen from him was about N562,000.

She was later charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for stealing.

Operatives of the Nigerian Customs Service in Niger State has impounded a trailer carrying tramadol and other substances suspected to be illicit drugs worth about forty-four million naira (N44,000,000).

The trailer carrying the items was intercepted by the service’ special strike force along minna-suleja-minna road.

They were concealed under sacks and other items.

Briefing journalists on the seizure and other seizures made, at the Nigerian customs service command headquarters in Minna, the national coordinator of the strike force, Deputy Comptroller of Customs, Abdullahi Kirawa said but for the eagle eye of men and officers in his team, the items would have made their way into the society, pointing out what dangers they could pose to the society.

He said one person has been arrested in connection to the items and that investigation is still ongoing to unravel other culprits.

An embarrasing scene was captured on camera recently, after a man and a woman were pictured fighting outside a Shoprite Mall at an undisclosed Location.

According to details, the yet-to-be identified man allegedly slapped the lady who purportedly insulted him following an issue between them.

The lady then, attacked the man right there in front of the supermarket as two of them fought brutally to the shock of onlookers.

They were later separated by passersby as the raging lady was restrained.

A Facebook user identified as James Noel, shared the footage but didn’t give the location where it happened.

The Inspector General of Police, Adamu Mohammed’s Intelligence Response Team (IRT), revealed how it trailed and recovered 13 Houses, 13 vehicles and N100 million belonging to the leader of a notorious kidnapping and armed robbery gang and a former police corporal terrorizing the southeast and South-south parts of the country, Collins Ezenwa, popularly known as ‘E-money’.

Sources at the IRT, disclosed yesterday that operatives of the IRT, who were on Ezenwa’s trail before he was gunned down by policemen attached to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, (SARS), attached to the Imo State Police Command, in 2018, when they allegedly intercepted him during a robbery operation in Owerri, Imo State. The police arrested some bankers and a real estate agent, who were allegedly working for him.

The source explained that the IRT uncovered during its investigations that Ezenwa, who was a dismissed police corporal working at the Imo State Police Command, also has links to a notorious armed robbery gang who specialized in hijacking oil vessels on the sea and sell off its products to waiting buyers. The source added that Ezenwa who joined the Nigeria Police Force, in the 2009, made billions of naira from his nefarious criminal activities bought several choice properties including hotels and exotic cars within Imo, Abia and Enugu States, within the space of two years.

A sporting family siphoned off cash from their own charity set up to help African children, it can be reported. Ex-footballers Efe Sodje, 46, and Stephen Sodje, 43, and ex-rugby player Bright Sodje, 52, were found guilty and jailed for the fraud in 2017.

The case can only be reported now following the conclusion of a separate trial involving former Reading and Nigeria footballer Sam Sodje, 39. Earlier on Monday, he was cleared at the Old Bailey of money laundering.

The fraud trial in 2017 had heard how the family set up the Sodje Sports Foundation (SSF) in 2009, ostensibly to help provide facilities in Nigeria.

There was pandemonium in Ishawo community at Ikorodu in Lagos State, on Thursday last week when rival cult groups, Eiye and Aiye, engaged in a supremacy battle. The clash, which occurred about 8.55p.m., at Olainukan bus stop, forced residents of the community to hurriedly shut their doors and remain indoors, as guns, machetes and other dangerous weapons were freely used.

After the dust had settled, Eiye group reportedly killed a member of Aiye confraternity, identified simply as Sunday.

The clashes between cult groups in Ikorodu are said to be on the increase. Several people were said to have sustained various degrees of injury while trying to escape. A resident, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said they were in front of their house when they saw some youths, all dressed in black, chasing some people.

He said: “Because we are used to cult clashes, immediately I saw the youth in black, I called my wife who was selling bread in front of our house to pack because anything could happen. “A few minutes later, after we gone inside the house, we started hearing gunshots from different angles. On the fateful day, there was a serious commotion in the community.

According to reports, the referees that officiated the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) match day three encounter on Sunday, January 20 between Remo Stars and Bendel Insurance were reportedly attacked by supporters.

Remo Stars were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Bendel Insurance.

A young man identified as Praise Mfutso, from Malindi Mangochi in Malawi, reportedly hanged himself over poverty in his family as he begged God for forgiveness in his suicide note. The young man who disclosed that he has tried so hard to end poverty in his family to no avail, added that he has been struggling to attend college but got tired because he got no help.

Before his death, it was gathered that the deceased was working with a certain NGO PA at St. Martin Mission Hospital in Malindi, Malawi. His death has reportedly sent his family through rounds of grief.
