I have confirmed that most Hauwei CDMA Mobile phones get real hot. Most of my friends who I encouraged to buy Visa phones have complained that theirs get real hot most of the time. I advised them to stop using the phones for fear of radiation emission. Does anyone have same kind of problem? Please post it here. Thanks.

am not holding brief for those who behave in stupid ways. but what am saying is that, there a lot of lack in the lives of many Nigerians here. And some of these lacks are primary things of life that one should have by default. So, most times peoples behaviour is informed by these circumstances both the doer and even those who are supposed to police them. A security man at the airport here may just be looking at someone drop a can on the ground without (security) doing anything. Reason, could be that he's not motivated due to non payment of his salary and this (unpaid salary) situation could trigger some other problems for this security personnel. But find out why his salary has not been paid. Someone somewhere may have put 3 months salary for the entire ministry into a fixed deposit account.Just an example.

@naijacutee

You have completely lost touch with reality. No offense meant plz. Where are u? You talk like you don't even live in this society, or if you do, you don't feel it!
Have you ever been hungry in your life? Have gone hungry for a day? How did u feel plz. Have ever been financially cheated? Was it painful at all. How would you feel if your elder bros or sis uses your school fees to buy drinks for his/her party? Every infrastructure here has completely collapsed, most people are not sure of their next salary. Everyone is so unsure about tomorrow, the govt comes up every other day with harsh economic policies and nothing to cushion the effects, why would someone in such delima reason well. These people are reminded daily how billions kept in a fellow country man's care is wasted, stolen and nothing's done to the fellow, then you want me at the lower cadre, with all the hard times to think well about public care? that should be a joke. Change should practically start from the TOP. Q.E.D.

@fidrach.:
The issue is not that govt should provide everything. For instance, am not expecting govt to train my children in school. But I cannot build roads, I cannot provide Electricity, I cannot form an effective honest police force, I cannot form a strong, efficient and sincere legal system, I cannot form a good customs and immigration force. I don't have a license to build a private, working and world class airport. I cannot make the prices of petroleum products cheap, neither can any individual or a group of individual achieve any of these in Nigeria without the govt sincerely in support of it. All these and more are the exclusive duties of the govt, not individuals.It is when these infrastructure are in place that you can now expect individuals to play their own parts. There is nothing hunger cannot cause. If you have been starved for a long time, when u finally see the food, you will eat, eat, eat and stuff your bag with food unless someone puts a check on you and implement the penalty for over-eating. So u dont expect an individual in Nigeria to stop unpatriotic pratices while the leaders, keepers of the law are busy stealing govt fund. Cant you guys get the issue right?
PoliticsRe: Breaking News by emmydee(op): 5:20pm On Jul 04, 2008
The issue is that the leaders and even those who aspire to replace the ones there do not wish the country to "Better" for the general populace. They only wish it to better for themselves. C, it is not as if Nigeria is looking for fund to carry out projects and make the country better, but the funds are there and they are only stealing the money. Most of us tot that when IBB leaves, it will end. Some even tot that with the exit of Abacha, we will c light. And many believed that with democracy, our new leaders would start a rebuilding process. What are we experiencing today? No one tot that by the year 2008 Nigeria wont have electricity, even U.

@Regular:
it does not matter what happens in other nations, we are talking about what happens here. We are not interested in comparison in corruption or crime. This is our land and our administrators are busy scooping our resources, which should have been used in concrete developmental projects. Nigeria started development race with Brazil and Malaysia, Today, Brazil has crossed over to The Developed World, Nigeria is still preparing. If u try opening a web page and after 30 mins, the page is still trying to load, in most cases, you will quit. The development race of Nigeria has been over stagnant. It has failed, the nation has failed. simple.

They cant stop throwing pure water bags cos they're used to it. It will take a long time and a clearly implemented system for them to stop doing that. They have now learnt how to que at BRT bus stops. Check out how Donald Duke kept Calabar. Most of these people have hunger and housing problems embedded in their schedule. Some even have health problems they dont have money to treat. Some of them waka pass where they're going cos their mind don waka leave them. .Let the FG give us light, good roads, potable water, highly subsidized and affordable health care, good housing, access to basic education especially for the poor, good transport systems, good and efficient justice system, accountability, show concern for the citizenry, then you will see that most of these vices would fizzle out.

@spikedcylinder.

The way you respond to issues related to corruption and embezzlement of our public fund is awful. Even if you benefit from such wealth, that's not good enough reason to support evil. Dont you have conscience? money meant for more than 150M million Nigerians, less than 10% of you have taken it and are still scooping to the detriment of the society in which you live, if you actually do.
CultureRe: Why Is Nigerian Society So Damn Corrupt? by emmydee(m): 11:31am On Jul 04, 2008
The only set of people that can make Nigeria a better place are our leaders in Government. If they are ready, every other person will be ready.
When you say, "dont misappropriate any public fund in your care" and someone goes contrary to the directive and gets heavily punished, no one else would commit such offense, or dont you think so?
CultureRe: Why Is Nigerian Society So Damn Corrupt? by emmydee(m): 11:27am On Jul 04, 2008
You c, most of you get it wrong. The number 1 vitality to making Nigeria a better place is Money! And our administrators are simply busy scooping this money. if you put N4.5B in any industrial establishment in Nigeria, that firm would create more than 1500 new jobs. All the money these people are stealing when put into good use could make Nigeria a near Heaven!
CultureRe: Why Is Nigerian Society So Damn Corrupt? by emmydee(m): 10:28am On Jul 04, 2008
@edmondo.

We are saying that Nigerians are corrupt for Nigeria. The underdevelopment condition of Nigeria should not allow anyone that has conscience to steal even a kobo of public fund. Again, there is a loss of patriotism in the minds of Nigerians. Do u know why? Offenders don't get punished. So nobody cares when any goes wrong.
PoliticsRe: Breaking News by emmydee(op): 7:47pm On Jul 03, 2008
Old story, so u c the angle you are looking at it? Even the minds of nigerians have been so hardened that they now accept bullshit as governance
PoliticsBreaking News by emmydee(op): 7:31pm On Jul 03, 2008
I have considered my own dear nation a failed country. I spend some time daily thinking about the ways things are happening in Nigeria. I always feel very cold at the end of each session. When I think of the poor standard of our educational institutions, I begin to reason that the country is unknowingly producing junks as future leaders and even future followers. What is the expected quality of education from a child who went to primary school in a dilapidated school building, went to a secondary school that does not have good teachers, the necessary books, adequate classroom blocks and no discipline. Later went to a high institution that provides him/her an opportunity to bribe his /her way to acquire a certificate . Finally graduates, spends 10 months searching for a N20, 000 job and in most cases, gets none.

I am very much convinced that Nigeria is now completely out of control. The EFCC has arrested and tried a handful of cases, how many of these offenders have gone to jail? Deprieye Alamesiayha scooped so much money from Bayelsa, he made a plea bargain, an went home. He's enjoying his life in Abuja at the moment according to reports. Tafa got the Nigerian police force officers and men having stomach ulcer when he withheld and embezzled over N10B meant for serious projects during his administration, he was merely asked to return the loot and got just one chikili 6months behind luxury bars. whereas an unemployed Nigerian got 6 whole years for making an attempt to defraud a whiteman. (am not saying the act is good though). Now do you know how many police men that suffered humiliation because Mr. Tafa held on to the fund meant for police development? The police man goes out to work angry, with gun in his hand, anything can happen.

I also heard, Dr. Odili was asked to refund N23B just few days before the PDP presidential primaries. Where did he get all that money? These people lack conscience.
Otherwise, they cannot open their eye and scoop public fund the way they do. Again, no punishment!

The N19.5B aviation fund is currently raging. Airport Tower contract inflated in excess of N4.5B. Where is this money as we speak. Those responsible should get 50years in abakiliki prisons period.
What about the ajeokuta steel project? I started hearing of that project since secondary school. That was about 20 years ago. Billions of dollars have been poured into it, and up till now, my country is still on it.

This country spent billions of Nigerian naira in the National ID Card project. Today, story says the ID Card lacks some important features, so, we may need to travel that same road again. How much was actually spent in hosting CHOGM, and the All Africa Games, any news? Billions of tax payers money of course. The All Africa Games, I can bear but the CHOGM, purely an unnecessary venture.

Some months ago, a newspaper report revealed that a committee set up to find out how much it will cost Nigeria to construct a Nigerian-Cameroon boundary came out and said it will cost USD25B. If you allow naija, she will embark on that project.

Who got the contract to dualize the Lagos-Onitsha expressway? Any news? Wow, check out how messed up that is. But where is the money today? All paid to the contractor. Nobody is interested to call for a refund.

At one time, I heard about the sale of Nigerian airways. There was trouble and rumble in the land. Some bigwigs in charge then made a kill. some got USD3 M, used it to finance their governorship elections. The law enforcement gurus knew, FG knew too, they kept quiet. and to them that benefited, No shaking Nigeria!

All the money that was gotten from Abacha, where are they. No good accounts. How much exactly do we have in the federation account, we simply don't know.
Whats going on in the customs today. Barned goods still make their ways to our warehouses. How much exactly is Nigeria actually making from the customs and Immigrations. We just don't know.

Ok, the electoral tribunals sitting in different parts of the country annulled the elections of many (serving?) politicians, but they are still in office.

Freedom of info bill has been a very bitter pill to the members of the National assembly, why? What do they intend to hide?

Who really owns Ota farm? Or OK, Where exactly is the location of the Operation Feed the Nation demonstration farm? Answers please. I pray it is not the present Ota farm that OBJ is making mouth with.

A report has it that Nigerians are the most enduring people on earth. Another says Nigeria is the worst nation to do business whaile another world agency says Nigeria Is a Failed Nation. This report that says it is a failed Nation considered very well, all our intellectuals, all our footballers, all our oil, all our agricultural land, all our mansions, skyscrapers, our beautiful Abuja city etc and still came up with this judgment. Do you doubt the report? How much did the 2006 census cost, the Abuja stadium, how much was spent in the swearing ceremony of President Yar'Dua. Please find out details. Then you will realize what am actually talking about.

With all the maladministration of IBB, Abdusalam and Obasanjo, what has been done to these gentlemen. Nothing!

Why has an average Nigerian lost interest in patriotism.
Why are we having wahala in the Niger Delta region today? And if I may ask, why did the FG allow the Niger Delta issue to get to this point? The Niger Delta trouble got to this point as a result of the insensitivity of the federal and state governments, period.

I am forced to believe that we have consistently had the wrong people in government, even in the present administration. Am sorry about this. A government that has watched the decay of infrastructures without any successful answer to it should seek spiritual answers.

I give standing ovation to some Nigerians especially Dangote and Dr. Mike Adenuga for having the mind to make such investments in Nigeria thereby creating thousands of jobs. I don't know how these people made their money from the beginning, but the good thing is that they invested it in Nigeria. Let others try like them now.

Do you realize that Nigeria cannot cloth herself? 90% of all the clothes worn in Nigeria today are either from China, or Okirika from Europe. Just a few ankara are made in Nigeria. And our govt does not see any problem with that. Even electricity sockets, toothpicks are brought in from china. Any shame? no. Thats very ok.

Hospitals nko? No problems.

CBN tried to cut down inflation by bringing in lighter coins and reducing the sizes of 5,10,20 and 50 bills. Ok where are the denominations? Please calculate, I got just C6 in maths, but find out the percentage increase in a situation where a bus fare that you paid for the previous day at N80, you are asked to pay N100 today. whats the rate of increase?

I traveled to Abuja by road from Lagos for the first time. I was surprised to see the condition of the road. This is a road that should be constructed as a super highway together with the construction of Abuja roads, having in mind that as the Nation's capital is being moved from Lagos to Abuja, that a lot of people would constantly make use of that route while shuttling to meet up with activities. Does our govt think at all?

The amount of money my country govt has wasted in NEPA is twice enough to yank off all the cables and other installations and carefully start all over to lit Nigeria.How can we even be talking about successful development without electricity. Even a conference on development in this country is a waste. In this 21st century, a nation like Nigeria does not have electricity.So when can we have it?

Therefore, country people, please do not crucify me for giving you this Breaking News. Am not encouraging you to run abroad, but if you can, please do.
This nation is bad!
I no fit shout!

Although the banks are expected to contribute to the development of their local community through corporate sponsorship which most of them engage in, it's entirely up to the banks to spend their money on whatever. If they like, they can advertise in heaven, it's their money. The Nigerian government has enough money to eradicate poverty in our land, but a few swallow all that fund. Can u imagine 4.5B Naira in excess for the airport tower contract. This is hell!
