Restitution in Old and New Testament Compared

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fEXGjXmIKY0

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8GsNUxNUmKM&t=4s

Restitution is a biblical concept, and there are passages in both Old and New Testaments that reveal the mind of God on this subject. In the Old Testament, the Israelites were under the Law, which specified restitution in a variety of circumstances while In the New Testament, we have the wonderful example of Zacchaeus in Luke 19. And some others like Paul, Mathew etc.
Religion / Balaam's Syndrome : Greed! by emmyileri(m): 8:49pm On Nov 19, 2022
Greed is a strong and selfish desire to have more of something, most often money or power. There are many warnings in the Bible about giving in to greed and longing for riches. Jesus warned, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; a man’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions” (Luke 12:15). “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal… You cannot serve both God and money” (Matthew 6:19, 24b). Did Jesus pursue the acquisition of money? No. On the contrary, He became poor for our sake (2 Corinthians 8:9) and had “no place to lay his head” (Matthew 8:20). Neither did Jesus pursue power. Rather, He instructed, "Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many" (Mark 10:43–45).

Greed and a desire for riches are traps that bring ruin and destruction. “The love of money is a root of all kinds of evil,” and Christians are warned, “Do not put your trust in wealth” (see 1 Timothy 6:9-10, 17-18). Covetousness, or having an excessive or greedy desire for more, is idolatry. Ephesians 5:5 says, “For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person – such a man is an idolater – has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.” The principle to remember is contained in Hebrews 13:5: “Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, ‘Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.’”

It is the love of money, and not money itself, that is the problem. The love of money is a sin because it gets in the way of worshiping God. Jesus said it was very hard for rich people to enter the Kingdom of God. When the rich young ruler asked Jesus what he should do to inherit eternal life, Jesus told him to sell all his possessions and give the money to the poor. “When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth” (see Matthew 19:16-22). By instructing him to give up his money, Jesus pointed out the young man’s main problem: greed or a love of money. The man could not follow Christ because he was following money. His love of this world interfered with his love for God.

Greed refuses to be satisfied. More often than not, the more we get, the more we want. Material possessions will not protect us—in this life or eternally. Jesus’ parable of the rich fool in Luke 12:13–21 illustrates this point well. Again, money or wealth is not a problem. The problem is our attitude toward it. When we place our confidence in wealth or are consumed by an insatiable desire for more, we are failing to give God the glory and worship He deserves. We are to serve God, not waste our time trying to become rich (Proverbs 23:4). Our heart’s desire should be to store up riches in heaven and not worry about what we will eat or drink or wear. “But seek first [God’s] kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well” (see Matthew 6:25-34).

Romance / Re: My Terrible Experience With Hookup Girl I Met On Facebook by emmyileri(m): 11:09am On Nov 09, 2022
NovoLag:
So I recently came back to Lagos and man has been terribly bored.

I think I should use this opportunity to beg Nigerian girls to please consider us fine boys embarassed
If anyone had told me a full blooded fine boy like me will find it hard to have a decent relationship with a girl, I would’ve laughed it off..
it’s just soo hard to get a girl to date these days as a fine boy. They’ll think you’re a cheat or something cry
It’s darn tiring.

So back to my story; so I sent out a few messages on Facebook to some girls who were into the hookup business and after a few minutes I got replies from a few and I finally settled for one that lives closer to me.

We settled for an amount.
Sent her my pics and got hers
She looked pretty average and decent.

First red flag when this girl refused to come in the afternoon. Said she had a few errands to run and can only come about 7 in the evening.

When she finally came, it was past 9.
Had wanted us to use my apartment but on a second thought I paid for a room nearby.

Omo when this girl showed up, she was entirely different from the person I met on Facebook. Not that it was a different person, but something was just off about her.

As per se body don full, I welcomed her into the room, gave her cash as she requested.

Now down to business; “where is your condom”? She was just looking at me like she never heard of condoms before.

She said she didn’t come with any o… that she doesn’t mind going raw. Ha

I’m grateful that my head won over my prick.. I went down to a nearby Aboki and bought a condom.

Came up, wore the bags, was about to penetrate and this girl coughed so loudly I had to go put on the main light and saw that this girl was visibly and obviously sick.

I don’t know what she was sick of, but she was shivering. Omo

She kept saying I should go ahead that it’s just small cough… mehn at that point my prick don go down.
Then she said I should try raw, then if my prick gets strong again I can then use a bag.

I kept trying to understand the mumu talk.., like I should penetrate without a condom, then wear a condom later when my prick gets stronger..

This girl was out to end my life!

I just wore my trousers and left the room.
I think there’s a set of frustrated people who are out there sharing diseases in Lagos. Man gats be very careful these days.
"This girl was out to end my life!"
That's a wrong statement, you want to destroy your own life both now and eternity.
NIV:But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.” Rev 21:8
If you fail to repent and continue in this type of life, you'll be in serious trouble.

1. See the photo of what a shepherd's rod looks like. Have you watched a shepherd guide his sheep. There are many sheep farms here. A shepherd never ever strikes his sheep.

2. Hearsay is not a good enough source. My time is spent between Canada and the US. If the rate of killing was 10 times the death toll in Nigeria, I would know. You cannot compare secondary school and university cultism in Nigeria to what is happening here. Over here, Youths stand up for pregnant women, elderly people, disabled people. How many Nigerian youths will willingly give up their seats on the bus for these people. I have never ever locked my car since I bought it - Can I try that in Nigeria with Nigerian youths? I'm jogging and running at 2am here. In Nigeria I would lock my house at 10pm. And it is only since November 2021 that I started making sure that I lock my home doors. Up till yesterday doordash, ubereats will drop your food at your door and nobody will take it.
The only error the youths here have is those sins that Nigerian youths do in secret, they will do it in the open if they commit those type of sins.
I have verified sources (see screenshots) that state that 10,000 people were killed in a span of 10 years - the paper points at the youths as being the culprits - the same paper says 90% of killings are not recorded. What do you think that means, it means that in 10 years, the death of 900,000 people from cult activities spearheaded by youths was not reported. Please do not compare youth related violence in Nigeria and the US

3. Never ever in the bible was disciplining equated to striking. When the bible wanted to describe striking a rock, the bible never wrote "Moses did not spare the rod on the rock". The phrase used in the bible was "strike the rock with the rod" Disciplining is not equal to striking. If you live here in North America, and your child hits anyone, the school will know that the child learnt it from you, the parent and you will go for anger management classes
I read so many of your comments here and suddenly you turn to preacher. searching the internet to support your misguided believe. Every comments I made here is biblically proven and verified. My account of discipline is a typical of a Christian home not just any home. I'm from a family of 11,I'm the 11th. Not a single one of us have a bad account of troubling our parents in any way because we were disciplined in the Christian way.You stick to what you believe and I will stick to mine. Good luck on your method of training your children, your comments so far on this platform as truly shown "how much your method of training is really working" on your children."

1. Daily killings and violence in Europe and America is ten times that seen in Africa - Where is your source?

2. "The ROD and the staff, they COMFORT me". - The rod brings COMFORT not pain. I have read a few of your posts, you seem to be christian - go and read up how many times Kenneth Hagin or Benny Hinn or any of the great generals of God smacked their kid(s).

1. My source : Are the friends who live there. I'm sure you know not every of these events is on news. A child of 15 killing tens in primary school, and high schools with high caliber guns used in war. You don't have that in Africa.
Kenneth hagins and Co (They) won't tell you when they did that. But I'm sure they live by the principles of the scripture NIV:Folly is bound up in the heart of a child, but the rod of discipline will drive it far away.. Proverbs 22:15
Rod of discipline is two 1. The word, 2. The cane
I'm also a teacher by profession, a well trained teacher.

They disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, in order that we may share in his holiness.
11
NIV:No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace.. Hebrews 12:10-11
Have you seen where a shepherd leads his sheep. If you have you will see how he uses his rod to bring about obedience in his sheep.
Am I using cane to abuse or destroy my child? NO. the purpose is to trained him for value both now and future. I was trained by it and it works

The word rod indicates a thin stick or switch that can be used to give a small amount of physical pain with no lasting physical injury.Physical discipline is always done in love, never as a vent to the parent’s frustration. It is also just one part of discipline and should be used when the child shows defiance to a clear limit, not in the heat of the moment.... NIV:A rod and a reprimand impart wisdom, but a child left undisciplined disgraces its mother. Prov 29:15
It's on this uncorrupted principle I stand on as a parent.

The typical African parent is a bully. Children are beaten and tortured for no reason.
Children are beaten up for not understanding her schoolwork, Children are beaten up for getting sexually molested, Children are beaten up for crying from the previous beaten, Children are beaten up for not answering quickly enough, Children are beaten up for daring to have a different point of view.

In your example, how can a man and wife (two people) hit, tackle to the ground and beat the crap out of a 15 year old. Like 2 people to one person? Even if she was an adult and not their daughter, two people to one is an unfair situation.

What Nigerians and Africans refuse to learn is that violence destroys a country. See how all the violent countries are experiencing reduced GDP compared to those that are not. Africans will continue to create and breed monsters.

It will be very easy for a 15 year boy to rape and beat up a 6 year old child because he has been beaten to the point of trauma he feels its not a big deal, his mother's has beaten the house help to stupor, and his father has beaten his mother to stupor so violence is a part of life.
Daily killings and violence in Europe and America is ten times that seen in Africa. Spare the rod, destroy the child

The king said to the wise men of Babylon, Whoever will read this writing and show me the interpretation of it will be clothed with purple and have a chain of gold put about his neck and will be the third ruler in the kingdom.
8 And all the king's wise men came in, but they could not read the writing or make known to the king the interpretation of it.

An Aramaic king cudnt read an Aramaic writing on the wall? His linguists cudnt either, so they had to call a man in whom is the spirit of the gods? U have to explain how suddenly everyone cudnt understand Aramaic in that room

I was following your narration oooo, until I got to the part where you wrote, "NOT ALL SPIRIT-FILLED CHRISTIANS MUST SPEAK IN TONGUES", I went off there.

You are wrong.
Speaking in Tongues as a sign of the baptism of the Holy Ghost is a MUST for all spirit filled Christians. You can't be spirit filled and not speak or pray in other Tongues. Not possible.
Moreover, the speaking in divers Tongues is a gift of the Spirit...not every one should. This is not the same as the Tongues you speak when you are filled with the Holy Ghost or when you pray in other Tongues. Pls note it.

Stop mixing them togeether.

NIV:Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles?
30
NIV:Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret?
31
NIV:Now eagerly desire the greater gifts. And yet I will show you the most excellent way. 1 Corinthians 12:29-31...
The reason why there was speaking in tongues as evidence of baptism was to shows the apostles, Jewish Christians that the Gentiles (e.g Cornelius) received the same Holy Spirit as them without having to follow the law of Moses. Study Act 15

Jude 1 Vs 20
Praying in the holy ghost is the same thing as speaking in tongues.

Secondly, speaking in tongues is more important to u, more useful, more essential for u than the pple hearing u.
Salvation is personal nd speaking in tongues has more benefits to u as a born again Christian than pple hearing u.
Focus more on urself as a born again Christian, build urself up the more than focusing on pple.

Work out ur own salvation with fear nd trembling
How does praying in the spirit equate to praying in other languages? As many as are led by the spirit of God are the sons of God. Praying in the spirit is praying under the guidance and direction of the Holy spirit. What to pray for, praying according to his will etc.

Maybe u need to understand the reason behind it. Apart from the day of Pentecost, which other time did they heard wat they were saying while speaking in tongues?

Read all through d book of Acts to clarify this statement of mine.
How do you think the apostles of Jesus preached in countries where they they don't understand their languages? Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 14 :18 said I thank God I speak in tongues more than all of you. How do you think he was able to speak more? Was it not because he went farther into more countries to evangelize and spake in unknown tongues the good news of Christ??
