Mentorship is not just about what a mentor teaches—it’s about the life they live. The testimony of a mentor shapes the mindset, decisions, and direction of the mentee. A mentor who hides sin, excuses failure, or leads with hidden motives can pass down confusion and compromise. But a mentor who has faced their flaws, repented, and grown can guide others with truth and integrity. In this video, we’ll explore why the testimony of the mentor matters, and how to discern whether a mentor is safe to follow.
Mentorship is ordained to be a relationship of truth, trust, and spiritual growth. Yet, many who claim to be in mentorship are driven by wrong motives—seeking personal gain, validation, control, or hidden agendas rather than genuine transformation. When a mentorship relationship is built on deception, pretense, or unspoken intentions, it becomes spiritually unproductive and ultimately harmful. At the root of such dishonesty lies pride, fear, insecurity, and a lack of genuine commitment to Christ. Mentors may conceal selfish ambitions under the guise of guidance, while mentees may pretend submission while pursuing their own interests. This mutual insincerity erodes trust and hinders the flow of divine purpose. True Christian mentorship, however, thrives on openness, accountability, and sincerity of heart. To avoid insincere relationships, both mentor and mentee must embrace humility, walk in truth, and align their intentions with God’s will. Only then can mentorship fulfill its purpose of raising lives that reflect Christ in both character and calling.
Mentorship is biblical, but it must be divinely orchestrated and should never be entered casually. In a world filled with deception and hypocrisy, believers must be discerning about whom they place over their lives as mentors, The mentor one submits to can influence not only one's calling and destiny, but also one's eternal standing.
This command sometimes used in Pentecostal and Charismatic circles to defend certain preachers from criticism. Preachers who promote themselves or their ministries as “anointed” warn their would-be critics, “Do not touch God’s anointed!” Of course, this helps to insulate them from scrutiny and allows them to spread falsehood and bad theology unrestrained.
This area is not far from my area in Omu-Aran. I can tell you that the people lives in a completely different world. Fear, death and kidnappings is the order of the day. Like come and see mass exodus of people from all over these towns. The government don't care at all
They need to choose between Yuan and the dollar. Trump is asking them to publicly declare their allegiance. US can destroy all Iranian navy in 5mins. But will not.
Amotolongbo: Serving God and attending church are different things. Going to church is just a social activity like going to school, club, amusement park etc. Serving God is making sure that your neighbours live in peace and harmony and giving to the needy
Going to church should actually refine us to serve God the more. And what does it mean to serve God is in James 1:27, church shouldn't be just like a social gathering, unfortunately many of us do not understand that. James 1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
Against you, and you alone, have I sinned; I have done what is evil in your sight. You will be proved right in what you say, and your judgment against me is just.. Psalm 51:4
Stop sharia, and we will stop smuggling weapons to Nigeria. Then, stop smuggling weapons, and terrorism will be over.
The United States has nailed it by exposing their agenda to Islamize Nigeria through sharia. Bashir has also exposed himself.
The US understands the game because they have researched what is happening in Nigeria. Can you hear that the Sultan of Sokoto has also been linked to the cause? That man was so bold that he wanted to introduce sharia to the South West through Oyo.
Sharia promoters sponsor weapons smuggling into Nigeria. Remove them, and terrorism ceases. These people intentionally allow many weapons to find their way into the hands of opportunists, who quickly began using them for kidnapping because it is profitable. Why did not they use it to rob houses and banks like regular robbers? They discovered that the money will come to them rather than them going after it, and it is far more profitable than robbing homes and banks.
So, removing sharia and sharia people will put an end to terrorism in Nigeria. They have been killing Christians na. However, they began to strategize in order to appear to be attacking everyone. And that is why you hear Muslims here writing lies. That is the narrative Bashir intended to convey, but was exposed while defending sharia. He stated that the US cannot dictate what we should do in Nigeria. Even when Christians are saying no no no. Sharia is forceful. They will kill you if you do not accept it.
Thank God Christians never stopped praying. The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob has answered our prayers. Victory belongs to the LORD.
I proclaim this:
Sharia is permanently dead in Nigeria. Terrorism is permanently dead in Nigeria. Islmatising Nigeria is dead. Gun smuggling has stopped. God has removed the source. As a result, terrorism and Christian killings have come to an end in Jesus' name. Hallelujah.
Christians, start writing about this. Stop sharia now in Nigeria and stop terrorism. Sharia is terrorism. Stop it.
A warning to sharia supporters: this is your final chance to repent. If you don't, you will meet your end, declares the Lord God of hosts. Amen!
Perfectly well said brother. God has heard the prayer of his people
This is the way forward to hold every Nigeria government accountable. Whenever you see sultan of sokoto or any other preaching that Islam is a peaceful wharever, it means the decision you are about to take is very solid. God bless Trump and America

janedonez: All these may not be necessary, the CAC team has responded, Pst Biodun has apologized, no need bringing Mama into this whole stuff. PST Biodun may have had tongue slip in his sermon but disturbing Mama with such issues is necessary.
I understand you love the man. But that is not tongue slip. That is a man whose teaching is totally detached from Christ and the Holy Spirit.
Where is the place of prayer and communion with God? You came online to look for solution where you can't get any. Have you lost your faith as well? Go on your knees and seek God's face. God the greatest healer, is anything too difficult for him to do.
1) I stopped going to church because I got bored and tired of the church services.
The sermons was no longer ministering to me. I go to church empty hoping to be filled but Instead I come back very empty.
I was no longer blessed after going to church.
There was no difference between me going to church and not going to church.
The services became long and tiring.
2) Also I stopped going to church immediately after COVID. Why? I realized that COVID happened. Everybody was at home for 3 months+. Nobody went to church yet God stilled heard and answered our prayers.
God protected us during those tough times even without us going to church.
I was waiting for men of God who show power and miracle to their members every Sunday to finally use the opportunity by rising up to perform miracles on infected COVID patients and heal COVID patients but no one did.
God used COVID-19 pandemic to make people realize that they do not need to run to a place to seek him, worship him and even get a Miracle from him.
3) Things became very hard for me while going to church. I graduated Uni, searched for a job, I couldn't get. I struggled financially so much while going to church. I struggled to get a job which I couldn't get. I started a small business. My little business struggled hard. It was as if my prayers will not been heard by God. It was tough. It's still tough. I prayed and prayed yet things didn't change. I just got discouraged.
To be honest, I just got tired and lost interest in going to church.
Why did you stop going to church?
Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking or neglecting to assemble together [as believers], as is the habit of some people, but admonishing (warning, urging, and encouraging) one another, and all the more faithfully as you see the day approaching. If you stop going to church, either you are attending a dead church or something is wrong with your faith. Psalm 122:1 I was glad when they said to me, Let us go to the house of the Lord!
