Okwute visiting Gumi today won’t still teach them anything. One of my Obidient friend, who was always condemning Gumi and also Buhari for not locking him up, I sent him the PO tweet, he has been mute Anyways I don't think PO meeting him is bad, PO has to cross some bridges, it's not only obidients that will help him win election The earlier obidients realize that it's a game of numbers and allow PO move to secure those numbers, the better for them. |

Guess what? Rest Countries that are battling flood as well have Cameroon Dam to blame... LMFAO We were already having flooding issues but the release of water from the Lagbo dam complicated the issue and made it worse, stop looking at it from an absolute point of view, the releasing of water from the Cameroon dam had it's effect, but was not the sole cause of the flood. |

Donjazet2: One key reason for this is because our democracy just hasn't matured, because if it has, this is where the state house legislators come in. People always forget that the state legislature are the ones who responsible for approving state budgets.
A functional state assembly wouldn't let every brand new executive just come in and abandon ongoing projects or allow "white elephant" projects.
But every single state assembly in Nigeria are just rubber stamp houses with all members being stooges of the state governors. I believe that with time sha, this would change.
But this should never be the basis for appraising godfatherism. Godfatherism is inimical to democracy.
Godfatherism leads to state capture and also situations whereby states are run like mafia organizations. We've seen this with Lagos, delta, Enugu, abia and the rest where godfatherism has been bad for the states. The bold hardly exists. Most governors first wrestle control of their state house of assembly. On the flip side, if there is infighting between state government and state house of assembly, the state may stagnate and in such political war, the people are given the last consideration. I don't support godfatherism in any way or form, cause we vote leaders to lead us, not for their godfathers to lead through them. It happens though, in fact, the reason it is not more prevalent is because many people tried to establish themselves as godfathers and failed. |

Donjazet2: This is what I don't understand with you guys. It seems to me that because Tinubu and Atiku are zero in your books, then Obi must be 10 over 10.
Or else you've not being paying attention to this man, the numerous interviews he grants, the numerous events he attends and speeches granted almost every single day, you can't say he hasn't laid out his plans.
Somehow, you all have now set the very highest of standards for him. You are now looking for a God like candidate to rule nigeria. I'm sure even if God came down now, you will still somehow find room for inadequacies. Why should scrutiny of your candidate bother you? If Atiku and Tinubu are zero in my books, does that obligate me to be licking PO's boots? No. IMO, PO and Obidients are the ones setting high standards for PO, and it's not bad, except you want people to automatically follow PO blindly because the other two candidates are bad. It's an election, people have different drive, your black and white utopia doesn't exist here. "you say you are voting PO, but you must market him, don't criticize him, or at least criticize other candidates more" bla bla, sorry I don't fit into your expectations, that's all I can tell you. What you don't know is that, in politics, a mindset like this only ends up demarkerting the candidate, that is if you're still saying you're voting for this man and hoping he wins. Sowing seeds of doubt into the minds of those who don't vote, people we're trying to make get engaged in the process. Lmaoooo, since when did I subscribe to being an activist? I don't even consider myself obidient So why should I be bothered about that?? I comment on issues I like, if you are expecting me to contribute to your obidient activism one way or another, sorry. By the way, you are doing a good job at your activism, more grease to your elbows. As for your question on security. This is a snippet of his objectives towards securing Nigeria. I am OK with this. Remember, Tinubu a d Atiku keep hiding from the media. Any time they talk, na so so blunder we dey hear. True, that is exactly why I say the other options are worse. |

[quote author=OasisX post=117593318] ....no matter what you built, if you have not built a successor, you have built nothing...".
- Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu
This is why he's difference. This is Reason he's the best man for the job! not for our stupid political outlook, his statement should have been rubbish. But once most politicians enter power, they don't think of continuity at all, they abandon previous project embarked on by their predecessor and start their own. Our political class need to imbibe the idea of continuity without one man trying to force it by appointing successors and even controlling them. That practice is undemocratic. |

To be honest, PO hasn't given comprehensive solutions or rather comprehensive plans to a lot of our problems, just a lot of "empty" campaign talks. However, when you look at the other candidates on the ballot, you won't blame those who take him as some sort of savior despite this fact. I hope PO is working on his manifesto, hopefully he will be proposing comprehensive plans to solving our problems in them. Last last, there is no coming to do magic, our problems won't go away by wish, so we just have to vote the best of our options in good conscience. |

Donjazet2: Would you classify the people who said this as reasonable yorubas??
I keep saying this, I know that the Yorubas are naturally the most peace loving and accommodating people. I have lived in Lagos for a long duration of my life, I served in Lagos, I have Yoruba relatives. I have family members on both sides who married yoruba spouses. My favorite dish is a yoruba meal, spinach stew.
But in every 12 there must be a Judas. On one hand you have Obasanjo a yoruba man going all out to make sure Obi wins next year, you also have the afeniferi group, a predominant Yoruba sociocultural group, endorsing and marketing obi, but for these people you also have xenophobic monkeys who stay millions of miles away while fostering hatred and division across the internet.
So I ask again, are these people who uttered these, "reasonable yorubas"? If that's your justification for your repeated ethnic profiling on this board, carry on |
