Yes you have "quoted" bible verses yet you insert them under captions that are ignorant and misleading and somewhat contrived in order to make a rebuttal at frosbel.

It makes me wonder what the Asian contingent will label their movement as - perhaps girlism tongue jk
just because nigerian or black men are calling something feminism, doesnt mean it is.

most of them do not understand the term and just use it loosely to mean any female who has an opinion which doesnt conform to stripping n.aked and keeping her mouth shut. That, to them, is what being a female entails.

if they know the actual story and history of feminism they'll be too scared to even leave their villages.
Lol I wouldn't mind if you provided a brief history account of feminism. . .and yeah I agree there's a marked difference between asserting oneself and being a full fledged feminist.

@OP: First of all, let me commend your use of English, it is quite a radical departure from the posts I am used to seeing from ladies on here.
Thank you good man.

To answer your question, I think the feminist culture may have it's roots as a cover-up for inferiority complex. Those females who express overt feminism feel that they would never measure up to men in terms of achievements e.t.c, therefore, they use feminism as a tool for covering up their complex.

The fact of the matter is that females do NOT need to be a feminist in order to show that they can compare favourably with men in all spheres of life, but rather, the proof of the pudding is in the eating; females need to show their achievements. Indulge in less talk, and show us your results.
I am delighted that you used the word "compare" and not "compete". Yes women can compare favorurably with men without the inclusion of this schism concept known as feminism - which to me just causes friction between both genders hampering relations the more.

ronkebp:
I think that just because we have our differences and places in life, does not mean we cannot compete with men, what if we compete?
On what terms? do you mean like during job interviews, academics etc and so forth?

"Uses" in that, I do not want to see my little sister thumbed down because of her gender.
the second part of my statement covers me not also wanting her to be a lazy bum-scratcher who does nothing and blames all her presumed life failures on everyone/everything else but her, as is the rapidly emerging norm of feminism today.
oh okay cool. Well as a female with numerous female relatives, I (and my sisters) expect to be evaluated in society. I will not use feminism as a defense mechanism or some sort of shield. I don't think I would employ "feminism" as a weapon if I am being depreciated on the basis of my gender although I will via other means defend my self/gender if need be.

lol at your vivid description once again. I doubt feminism actually adheres to laziness and scrounging off others and such. If anything more often than not Feminism advocates for the independence and promotion of women. People who want to be considered as "equal" to men are not lazy I assure you - I just believe as Mr. Cork has already pointed out that there are roles and properties that each gender needs and has to play. Neither should be ridiculed for their station but rather respected for their differences - that's what I believe anyway. smiley

MzDarkSkin:
only a male chauvinist would have an issue with women speaking up. bottom line.
Women give birth to children. Male chauvinists gives birth to feminist . . in my opinion.

^^ lol I think you misinterpreted what I was trying to relay. I was merely throwing out suggestions as to why you said "it" has it's uses - (assuming the "it" you were referring to was in actual fact feminism).

I took your first sentence as defending a particular aspect of feminism. . .

It has it's uses
I'm just curious as to what those "uses" are hence I reeled of a common notion (not something I necessarily adhere to however).

I understand that men and women's differences need and should be respected by both parties but why do some women make it their sole ambition to compete with men or be "equal" to them?

I believe we are made to complement each other not compete with each other cool

IslamRe: Muslim's Paradise, And Christian's Heaven by emofine(f): 12:12pm On Aug 22, 2011
In all honesty I have always been intrigued by the Paradise promised to Muslims. I have heard and read about the Islamic version of Paradise and quite innocently I have always assumed it was figurative or perhaps symbolic . . . well until frosbel quoted his friend:

"The Quran says that wine is forbidden. If it's forbidden here, why it should be permitted there? He said, "For Allah to compensate us for what we did not do during our life on Earth."
shocked

I'm a little shocked by that admission but of course his friend may not be a great authority on the Islamic faith just as Christianity has it's fair share of deceitful, wayward spokesperson so I'm afraid I'm just gonna have to be patient for another Musilm to perhaps respond and clear up that particular remark because he is suggesting that the Muslim Paradise will be an abode abundant in vices - well that's how it sounds like to me because Muslims in their entire lifetime are forbidden certain things in this world only to pass away and ascend into heaven to be partakers of those formerly forbidden vices for an eternity huh

No offence but the Paradise quoted from the Quaran sounds like something Hugh Hefner will dream up embarassed

LagosShia:
PHYSICAL PARADISE IN THE BIBLE JUST AS THE ONE MUSLIMS BELIEVE IN AND NOT THE 'SPIRITUAL' FANTASY CHRISTIAN DREAM OF BASED ON THE TEACHINGS OF PAUL

how can humans made up of blood and flesh be transformed into 'spiritual beings'?

TREES AND FOOD AND PRECIOUS STONES IN EDEN ACCORDING TO THE BIBLE

Genesis 2:7-9
7 the LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.
8 Now the LORD God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there he put the man he had formed.
9 And the LORD God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground—trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

Ezekiel 28:13
13 You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone adorned you: ruby, topaz and emerald, chrysolite, onyx and jasper, sapphire, turquoise and beryl. Your settings and mountings were made of gold; on the day you were created they were prepared.

PHYSICAL BODIES IN PARADISE

Genesis 2:22
Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib[a] he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.

WIFE IN PARADISE

Genesis 3:20
Adam named his wife Eve, because she would become the mother of all the living.

FLESH IN PARADISE AND EYES TO SEE GOD!

Job 19:26 -27
26 And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God;
27 I myself will see himwith my own eyes—I, and not another. How my heart yearns within me!

26 And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:
27 Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins be consumed within me.

DRINKING IN THE BIBLICAL PARADISE

Matthew 26:29
29 But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom.

EATING BREAD IN PARADISE

Luke 14:15
15 When one of those at the table with him heard this, he said to Jesus, “Blessed is the one who will eat at the feast in the kingdom of God.”

JESUS WAS TAKEN UP WITH PHYSICAL BODY

Luke 24:51
51 While he was blessing them, he left them and was taken up into heaven.

PAUL'S CONTRADICTION OF A PHYSICAL PARADISE BASED ON IMAGINATION

It is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. (1 Corinthians 15:44)

I declare to you, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. (1 Corinthians 15:50)

JESUS EATING AFTER HIS ALLEGED RESURRECTION (hint:its either Jesus did not die and resurrect or after resurrection and life returns people still have physical bodies.christians should make a choice!)

Luke 24:41-43
New International Version (NIV)

41 And while they still did not believe it because of joy and amazement, he asked them, “Do you have anything here to eat?” 42 They gave him a piece of broiled fish, 43 and he took it and ate it in their presence.
and as for you sir, are you just imagining your own misconceptions into realization? you are not even grasping at straws here you are planting them.

For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: 19And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

^^^ I did read the whole thread before commenting. maybe you should go back and read. the OP was the first to pick on the ghana contestant. WHY? Miss mauritius is whiter than the ghana girl.

and why didn't you apply the same due diligence to investigating the backgrounds of the other contestants? why did you feel the need to check into her background specifically? she is not the lightest looking girl there is she? is she the only one who looks mixed? she is not even that beautiful so why focus on her?

So what if was not raised in Ghana? does her representing Ghana means we have inferiority complex? Osaze Odemwingie plays for the Nigerian football team. He was born and raised in Russia and never lived in Nigeria before he started playing for Nigeria. Is that a case of inferiority complex then? I could give you more examples.

My point is, when discussing Ghana, the tone is often one of bitterness, resentfulness and hints of jealousy. How did a thread on African contestants at miss universe turn to a ghana bashing thread?
First time I agree with you. As a Nigerian it's not my concern what Ghana or indeed ANY other country chooses to represent them in a futile contest.
