Yul Edochie who is still optimistic about winning regardless of the debate, tweeted;

“I wasn’t invited to the debate. But its nothing to worry about. We’ll keep the spirit high and keep campaigning. Its time for the masses to have a say. November 18th, stand with me, the future is in our hands.”

Doctors in Sokoto state have given a middle-aged man a second lease of life after performing a high-risk operation on him. The man was rushed to the hospital after his friend stabbed him in the neck during an argument in Isa local government area in Sokoto state on Thursday, November 9th. The doctors led by Dr. Aminu Garba Alhazzai performed the surgery on the man. He is currently recuperating at the General Hospital in Sokoto. About 21,780 out of 33,000 teachers failed the primary four test administered to test their competence by the Kaduna State government.

The state is therefore shopping for 25,000 new teachers as one of the plans to restore dignity and quality to education.

Governor Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna State unveiled the planned recruitment when he received a World Bank’s delegation in Kaduna on Monday.

“We tested our 33,000 primary school teachers, we gave them primary four examination and required they must get at least 75 per cent but I am sad to announce that 66 per cent of them failed to get the requirements.

“The hiring of teachers in the past was politicized and we intend to change that by bringing in young and qualified primary school teachers to restore the dignity of education in the state,” the governor said.

He stressed that teachers would be redeployed across the state to balance the issue of teacher-pupil ratio.

“We have a challenge with the teacher-pupil ratio in the urban schools; there is concentration of teachers that are not needed.

‘’In some local government areas, it’s a teacher pupil ratio of 1-9 while in some places it’s 1-100,” he said.

The governor said that in a bid to improve the education sector, the school Directors decided to enrol their children in public schools starting from this academic session.

Speaking as a guest on The Beat FM’s Morning Rush, Mr Eazi also cleared the air on a statement he made about Nigerian musicians that has earned him heavy backlash. He had made a claim that musicians from Nigeria use Ghana sound for quick hits.

When asked to tell how his success story began, Mr Eazi said “After I came back from Ghana, I got a job in oil and gas in Port Harcourt that paid about six thousand dollars per month but I quit because I was not finding fulfillment in it. I mean it was the same thing everyday, the same routine over and over again. The decision to quit the job finally hit me when my boss’ wife left him even with all the money he had.

Kaduna state governor, Nasir el-Rufai says he wishes that Nigeria's oil reserves will dry up so that we can begin to apply our brains to explore other avenues for revenue generation. The governor said this when he spoke at the 2017 town hall meeting/founder’s day celebration in memory of Ojetunji Aboyade, a renowned economist, in Ibadan, Oyo state yesterday September 9th.

“Because Nigeria gets easy money from oil, the nation has lost its thinking initiative on how to develop other sources of revenue and diversify the economy. We get easy money, we do not collect taxes and our taxes are six per cent of Gross Domestic Product; that is an average of 21per cent. We stop respecting the intellectuals that we have in our universities because we get easy money. This is very sad. I wish the oil will dry up so that we can begin to use our brains because we have stopped using our brains and we have stopped respecting intellects because of easy money.”
Speaking further, the governor said the earlier the oil dries up, the better it would be for us as a Nation.
“How can we promote a national subscription to meritocracy? How can we ensure that the imperative of reflecting federal character does not become the enemy of merit and quality of appointments? Today, we don’t plan. We don’t have national plan and if we don’t plan, we are planning to fail. Having suffered brain drain, how do we attract back our Diaspora and the brain-gain associated with it like the Chinese and Indians have witnessed? These are the questions a distributive mentality around easy oil revenues is dodging. The earlier the oil dries up the better for our national ability to think, be innovative and respect intellect and academic achievement.”

Eyebrows were raised last week as there was uproar in Ika land and its environs owing to a homosexual act involving two male Senior Secondary School teachers and a senior student of one of the secondary Schools in Ika South, Agbor, Delta State.
It was gathered by Ika Weekly Newspaper reporters that the two male teachers, Kingsley Osaiwe and Mr. Ima Henry, Level 12 and 10 teachers respectively have been involved in this act with the student for several years and the student in question for fear of being intimidated has been silent about it.
One of the culprits Mr. Kingsley Osaiwe, a teacher and also a lay reader in a Church in Ika land has been allegedly involved in this act for over four years running, but ran out of luck on the day he was caught with the student in the act.
A source at the Hospital in Agbor, where the victim was treated revealed that the victim (student) has been infected with an anal disease, "Anal Warts", a disease said to be worse than HIV/AIDS, as a result of the homosexual act which has been going on for years.
Due to this abominable act by these Secondary School teachers, parents have questioned the safety of their children in most schools, and questioned the integrity of the school. Meanwhile, the Principals of the affected schools have remained silent over the development.
As at the time of filing this report, it was gathered that the culprits, who are natives of Idumesah and Owa-Oyibu respectively have been allegedly released on bail from the Police detention by a notable bigwig in Ika politics on humanitarian ground,
The news of the incidence has since gone viral as it is all over the place, on Whatsapp, Facebook and all social media networks with the photographs of the culprits fully displayed.

Incarcerated former National Security Adviser, Colonel Sambo Dasuki (rtd) has spoken of the prompt intervention of the regime of President Goodluck Jonathan in tackling the Boko-Haram menace and recovering dozens of towns and villages which led to the smooth conduct of 2015 general elections in the North-Eastern part of Nigeria.

Dasuki stated this from detention in his foreword to a 308-page new book titled: “Boko Haram Media War- An Encounter with the Spymaster” written by Yushau A. Shuaib.


“In the war-front are evident success stories which Shuaib has mentioned in some of the articles that featured in this book, especially on media relations, self-censorship, gallantry in recovering dozens of cities and towns among other declassified revelations,” he said.

Dasuki said: “In fact, without our intervention in ensuring the defeat of Boko Haram, the electorates could not have had the opportunity to exercise their franchise.

“It is a fact that we provided peace and stability that afforded Nigerians, especially in the North-East in voting for their governors, legislators and others in the 2015 elections.”


He noted that apart from the ‘Soft Approach Programme’ initiated for countering terrorism through de-radicalization without the use of force, the administration also introduced and implemented programmes for economic empowerment, education, communication, rehabilitation and counselling in the North-East.

According to the former NSA, “Crisis Communication, as one of the components of general campaigns, was initiated to win the heart of the citizens, boost the morale of the troops and weaken the fighting spirit of the terrorists.”

“On the media campaign, Yushau Shuaib who came highly recommended had been disengaged from the public service but was immediately re-engaged by the system to act as Chief Consultant on Crisis Communication.


“From the theories of Mass Communication, we deployed practical aspects of Crisis Communication throughout the


Dasuki posited that sensitive security issues were handled in a most professional manner, with strict adherence to confidentiality to avoid compromising national security.

He further said that “In strategic communication for crisis management, especially in confronting the Boko Haram, the media was a major tool in the campaign against the insurgency.

“There was thorough, timely and responsible reportage of the campaign. Some of the media played very strategic roles at great risk to their lives in the successes recorded, especially by our forces in the war against terrorism”.

He said as part of efforts in ensuring the mutual relationship with the media stakeholders, a 17member Forum of the Spokespersons of Security and Response Agencies (FOSSRA) was established with representatives from the military, security, intelligence and response agencies.

He added that through the media component of the War on Terror, Yushau Shuaib and his team carried out various activities including issuance over 3000 media contents including newsworthy items and publications, exclusive news placements and editorial control of sensitive reports, hosting of timely and regular Press briefings, social media engagements, amongt others.

Dasuki stated that while Shuaib’s narration covers only one of the great strides in the media campaigns, he appealed to media practitioners to embrace the challenge to examine other areas of the interventions such as the Soft-Approach Programmes, Strategic Alliances and Military Operations that the erstwhile regime carried out successfully.

He commended the author for his courage and boldness in the face of the current situations in the country and for his principle and consistency in stating the obvious and indeed the facts in the book.

Yushau Shuaib, in 2013, ran into trouble over one of his writings and was compulsorily retired from the public service when a cabinet minister lodged a complaint.

Rule 1:

If I’m Not In Your Picture, Don’t Tag Me

Too many internet users disregard this rule to the ire of those who have to deal with being tagged on pictures they have no idea about or are completely uninterested in. If you think about it, it’s really unfair to carelessly tag people in pictures. If you’re absolutely eager for the person to see a picture, simply mention the person in the comments. The ‘@’ feature was created to serve this very purpose.



Rule 2:

Don’t Argue With Trolls

It’s a waste of time and it’s much like arguing with a brick wall – useless and frustrating. Just ignore them and move on. Let them have their 1 or 2 minutes of fame and be forgotten like the irrelevant features of the internet that they are.



Rule 3:
Anything You Write Can and Will Be Used Against You or Turned Into Something Else

The second part is very likely, especially on social media. Your words are very likely going to be misunderstood by one or two people and turned around into something entirely different from what you could have even fathomed. You just have to keep that in mind and try to prepare for it when you post words on social media. In addition, avoid writing carelessly on social media about people or organizations. Write what you mean and mean what you write because the internet is a public place and anyone can call you out on your BS. Be wise.




Rule 4:

No Real Limits Apply Here

On the internet, people can say anything about anyone in anyway. Some people go as far as commenting on very uncomfortable and awkward aspects of their lives and the lives of others. Just when you think you’ve seen it all, someone comes out with an ‘nkan be’ tale of their experience in this world, and then you start to hear stories of how a person was romanced by a goat into sexual intimacy. There are absolutely no limits here, so prepare yourself. Get ready to see any and everything.




Rule 5:

If You Lose a Social Media Debate, Just Take the L

It’s as simple as that. Be mature about it and respectfully entertain the other person’s winning argument. Don’t get mad or feel humiliated. That’s just unnecessary. No one knows everything, so just accept it as a lesson that you can actually learn from. Cursing the person or blocking the person for winning an argument is inappropriate and just makes you look silly.



Rule 6:

If a Person Posts Something Sad About Themselves on Their Timeline, Don’t Hit Like It
Imagine posting about a losing a job, a beloved relative or a significant other, and a person hits like on the post. It seems like the person is relishing the misery of the other person. Please be wise and don’t like posts carelessly. Comment where you should and if you have nothing to say, just move on.

An air force man, B.A. Kalu, who was alleged to have shot dead his female colleague and lover, Solape Oladipupo, is undergoing a psychiatric test.
This is just as sources in the Nigerian Air Force told a Punch correspondent that the suspect, an aircraft man, would be dismissed from the service after facing a disciplinary panel.
The NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, Group Captain Ayodele Famuyiwa, who confirmed the psychiatric test to our correspondent on Monday, said the air force would also ascertain whether Kalu acted under the influence of drugs.
Sources at the NAF Tactical Air Command, Makurdi, Benue State, where the incident occurred, told Punch Metro that after Kalu’s dismissal, he would be handed over to the police as a civilian, adding that he had already owned up to the crime.
One of the sources, said, “Kalu killed his girlfriend and he has admitted it. What the panel is investigating is to unravel the circumstances that led to the incident. The whole essence of that investigation is to prevent a recurrence, not to exonerate someone who has already admitted guilt.”
Kalu and Oladipupo, aka Shomzy, a native of Badagry, Lagos State, had a romantic affair which lasted for months, after they met on a parade ground. Kalu allegedly shot dead his lover on Saturday at the air force base after accusing her of having a romantic affair with other men. The aircraft man was thereafter arrested and detained at the base.
A suicide note reportedly written by Kalu emerged on some social media thereafter, in which he allegedly said only idiots would call him a fool for his action.
The NAF spokesman, Group Captain Famuyiwa, said the family of the deceased airforce woman had been contacted and condoled with.
He said, “If somebody wrote down a note and also committed himself to such act, we have to be sure if he is mentally stable or not. Therefore, there is a psychiatrist that is attached to him for a test. I also understand that some of his blood sample was taken to ascertain whether he had used drugs.
“Kalu will remain in the service until a disciplinary panel set up on the matter comes up with its decision. We know there are several offences against the state, including this one, which is murder.
But the air force has set up its own disciplinary procedure. A board is investigating and will decide the punishments for the suspect. The girl’s parents have been contacted and the NAF has commiserated with the family.”

The Joint admission and matriculation board, JAMB has emphasized that there will be a mock examination before the 2017 UTME.
According to the information given, the date of the Mock examination will soon be announced.
The purpose of the mock examination is to allow candidates FEEL what the main examination will look like.
However, the board stated that the mock examination is COMPLETELY OPTIONAL.
That is to say, it is not really a pre-requiste for writing the actual UTME so you can choose to take the mock examination or choose not to.
The board equally disclosed that it will announce the list of accredited centres very soon.
