Speaking in an interview with Channels TV, the “Free Madness” and ''Akpako'' crooner said Nigerians have come to embrace his kind of music.

According to Terry G, he is the “Jesus” of the Nigerian music industry who set the pace and sacrificed for his artistic genre. ''I’m the Jesus of Nigerian music, I’m not the Christ. The Christ is the savior, Jesus is a name, and for the fact that Jesus is the most popular name that died for us and sacrificed for us. It took me a while to take this risk that a lot of persons discriminated against me for and now, they see people smoking, doing stuff and nobody is talking.

Benue-born former National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, Abraham Amuta, has reportedly rejected an offer for freedom by the Boko Haram terrorists.

Daily Trust reported that the ex-corps member, told those who came to secure his release in Sambisa forest to go home as he has already renounced his Christian faith and is now a member of Boko Haram.
Amuta was observing the one-year mandatory service in Borno State when he was abducted on 10 April, 2019 on Gwoza-Maiduguri road. He was heading to Chibok to deliver humanitarian assistance.
He was travelling alongside a 58-year-old man, Moses Oyeleke of Living Faith Church in Maiduguri and few others, including a schoolgirl, Ndagiliya Ibrahim Umar
Pastor Oyeleke was released in November 2019. According to the newspaper, negotiation for the release of Amuta and the other captives continued until yesterday when the process collapsed at the last hour following the ex-corps member’s decision to remain with his captors

An hostage executed by an 8-year old boko haram insurgent as been identified as a Mr. Ropvil Daciya Dalep.


Daciya, 22, has been identified as a student of Biology Education in University of Maiduguri and was abducted on Thursday January 9, 2020 near the Borno State capital.

Kidnapped along with him is a 20-year old Zoology student of the same University, Miss Lilian Daniel Gyang and one other.

On Tuesday, the distressing video of Mr. Daciya’s execution was shared online by SITE Intelligence Group, an organization that tracks the activities of terrorists around the world.


In the video, the masked executioner, apparently a child terrorist soldier by his voice said the execution was an avengement of some “bloodshed” by Christians in Plateau State.

Standing behind his victim with an English pistol, the executioner chanted some words in Arabic before transiting to Hausa to say, “In particular, this is one among the Christians from Plateau State.

“We are saying to Christians, we have not forgotten what you have done to our parents and ancestors and we are telling all Christians around the world, we have not forgotten and will not stop.

“We must avenge the bloodshed that has been done like this one…”

The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) says it has re-opened Club Quilox, after securing the management’s commitment to comply with the state’s environmental laws, and regulations.


The General Manager, LASEPA, Dr Dolapo Fasawe, said in a statement on Saturday that the club was reopened after management pledged to carry out its activities without obstructing the flow of traffic on Ozumba Mbadiwe and other adjoining streets.

Fasawe said that the club’s management promised to ensure its clients’ vehicles were properly parked in designated areas.


She said that the club had also demonstrated firm commitment to ensure that sound emanating from musical events hosted within its facility does not exceed the recommended limits set by the state.

The popular club, owned by Mr Shina Peller, a member of the Federal House of Representatives, had organised a 36-hour non-stop event that led to traffic gridlock and noise pollution, affecting Victoria Island and its environs.

”We are reopening the club for operation as it has fulfilled our conditions and complied with the extant law guiding its operations.

”The club was sanctioned and fined for environmental nuisances and we ensure total compliance before reopening,” Fasawe said.

Deji Adeyanju, who was brutalised by a pro-government group has asked the police to investigate the attack.


The activist in a petition to the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, dated December 23, 2019, fingered one Kabiru Dallah as the leader of the suspected miscreants who attacked him.

Adeyanju and his coalition members were attacked by a pro-government group while submitting a petition to the National Human Rights Commission on the detention of the #RevolutionNow convener, Omoyele Sowore, in Abuja on Monday.


The group had accused the coalition members of sabotaging the Muhammadu Buhari regime.

The petition partly read, “The planned intent and the conspiracy of the invading group was obvious when they made for me and chased me to a point where I was manhandled, assaulted and seriously brutalised and my clothes were torn, while my valuables: iPhone 11 and some cash on me, were stolen.

“I was subsequently rescued by some young activists and ferried in a taxi, while the policemen on the ground in their numbers and around the venue, watched helplessly and did nothing.

“The miscreants were led by a young man who later introduced himself to the media as Kabiru Ibrahim Dallah of the Centre for Leadership Initiative and another fellow who I am yet to ascertain his name.”

Meanwhile, the West African Human Rights Defenders Network has expressed concern over the assault on the activists in the presence of policemen.

While denouncing the assault, the network called on the government to investigate the incident and bring the perpetrators to justice.

There are growing indications that the Islamic State (IS) group is re-organising in Iraq, two years after losing the last of its territory in the country.


Kurdish and Western intelligence officials have told the BBC that the IS presence in Iraq is a sophisticated insurgency, and IS attacks are increasing.

The militants are now more skilled and more dangerous than al-Qaeda, according to Lahur Talabany, a top Kurdish counter-terrorism official.

Russia's President, Vladimir Putin has dismissed the impeachment charges against US President Donald Trump which he claimed were all made up.


Speaking during an annual press conference, Putin said he expects the US president to survive the historic proceedings.

Describing the impeachment proceedings as political infighting, the Russian leader insisted that the Democrats were seeking to make up for their loss in the 2016 presidential elections “by other means”.

“The Democratic party, which lost the elections, is achieving results through other means, by accusing Trump at first of conspiracy with Russia, then it turns out, there was no conspiracy at all.
“It then turned out that there was no collusion and it could not form the basis for an impeachment, and now there is this made-up pressure on Ukraine.”

Recall that President Trump became the third president in US history to be impeached, after the House passed two articles of impeachment: abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.

The Deputy Commissioner in-charge of the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) Yaba has disclosed that more internet fraudsters and possibly their mothers will be sent to prison if found guilty after prosecution.


She disclosed this today on a morning show programme on Lagos Television (LTV) while reacting to the news making rounds in the media that yet to be identified women have formed an ‘Association of Yahoo Boys’ Mothers’.

According to DCP Longe, she disclosed that for now, the ‘Association of Yahoo Boys’ Mothers’ is still an hear-say until police investigation reveals that there is truth in it.


And if it turns out to be true and its proven that they are in any way involved or provided any form of support to the crime, that makes them accomplices and co-conspirators where which they will be made to face the full wrath of the law. She added.

A 60-year-old man and three others have been arrested by the Niger state police command for allegedly defiling a nine-year-old girl.


The incident was said to have happened in Paikoro Local Government Area of the state.

The suspects were identified as, Usman Ibrahim, 60; Zakari Aliyu, 25; Mustapha Isah, 17; and Imurana Aliyu, I6.




It was reported that one of the suspects, Aliyu, was caught in the act by the victim’s mother and he was apprehended by the police.


Northern City News gathered in Minna on Sunday that one of the suspects, Ibrahim, who is married with three children and five grandchildren, told the police during interrogation that he gave the victim N20 the last time he defiled her.

The other suspects, who also confessed to defiling the minor on different occasions, said they paid her N20 to N50 each time they had their way.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Muhammad Abubakar, confirmed the incident, saying the suspects had confessed to the crime.

Abubakar added that the suspects would be charged soon.

A man who pretended to have a major wound on his hand just to beg for funds has been nabbed. The man was approached by a group of people, with a woman who seem to lead the team. He was asked what was wrong with him, and said he had a bike accident, and they offered to take him to the hospital.

Now, Facebook and Instagram have banned these two emoji, as well as the water drip, for being too ‘sexually suggestive.’

The change is part of an update to Facebook’s Sexual Solicitation Community Standards , which are aimed at sex workers who use the platforms to sell their services.


Facebook explained: “People use Facebook to discuss and draw attention to sexual violence and exploitation. We recognise the importance of and want to allow for this discussion.

“We draw the line, however, when content facilitates, encourages or coordinates sexual encounters between adults.

“We also restrict sexually explicit language that may lead to solicitation because some audiences within our global community may be sensitive to this type of content and it may impede the ability for people to connect with their friends and the broader community.”

The emoji, which are widely known to represent a penis (aubergine), bum (peach), and ejaculation (water drip), will still be allowed in captions, but can no longer be used in a manner that suggests or asks for anything sexual.

The Nigerian Correctional Service has said 25 of the 122 inmates who escaped from the Medium Security Custodial Centre, Koton Karfe, Kogi State, after a section of the centre was overrun by flood following a downpour in the town on Monday have been recaptured.


However, the NCS said 97 of them were still missing.

Meanwhile, the Federal Government has ordered the armed forces, police and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps to recapture the fleeing inmates.

The NCS Controller-General, Ja’afaru Ahmed, who visited the centre for an on-the-spot assessment on Tuesday, said 122 of the 227 inmates took advantage of the situation to escape, but 25 had been rearrested.

Speaking with newsmen on the occasion, Omoboriowo said he was compelled to give back to the society, especially students, because God had favoured him by giving him the privilege to work with President Muhammadu Buhari.

Apart from the massive renovation he carried out through his Bayo Omoboriowo Foundation in Ijero High School, he empowered students in his hometown with 1000 fully loaded school bags and writing materials.

“Bayo Omoboriowo Foundation was birthed as a response to one man’s unwavering desire to continually seek improvements in the general well-being of not just himself, but his immediate environment and society at large,” he said.

Fayemi, who is also the chairman, Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), called on all indigenes of the state to emulate the philanthropic gestures of Omoboriowo.

He also urged those who are well to do in the state to join hands with his administration to develop Ekiti, adding that the task of development could not be left to the government alone.

Fayemi said: “This state belongs to all of us. You know what they say about a village bringing up a child and taking a community to build a state.

“So, what Bayo (Omoboriowo) has done is exemplary and I think that other public-spirited Ekiti sons and daughters, Ekiti residents, Ekiti lovers should also consider and do within their own various areas of jurisdiction.

A Lebanese Hamza Koudeih and two other suspected accomplices of social media celebrity, Ismaila Mustapha (a.k.a. Mompha), have been arrested in Lagos.

Koudeih was arrested at the weekend after a three-hour stand-off at his N1.8 billion luxury apartment in the 33-storey Eko Atlantic Pearl Tower, Victoria Island, Lagos.




Mompha, Koudeih and the others are suspected to be kingpins of a network of cyber criminals who laundered N33 billion through three firms.

His arrest by officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), followed intelligence unearthed after Mompha’s arrest last Tuesday.

The Nation learnt that when the anti-graft agency’s operatives arrived at his luxury suite, Koudeih and his wife refused to open the door.

The couple also did not respond to appeals from the building’s chief security officer.

But the operatives, who had been monitoring the premises and had it surrounded, knew the Lebanese was inside. His cars were parked in the garage downstairs.




The apartment was fortified with triple reinforced fire-proof door and closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras and they could not gain entrance.

It was gathered that the EFCC investigators battled for three hours to break down the door using breaching tools.

When they gained access, they met his wife who claimed Koudeih had escaped through the window.

But Koudeih’s apartment is on one of the topmost floors of Eko Atlantic Pearl Tower, said to be the tallest apartment building in Nigeria.

“Our officials knew that he was still inside and they were even hoping to persuade him not to jump out through the window because it would be suicide,” EFCC Lagos Zonal Head, Mr. Mohammed Rabo, who confirmed the arrest, told The Nation.

But they did not find Koudeih in any of the rooms until they observed that a part of the ceiling in his bedroom had been artificially sealed.

They pushed it open and found Koudeih hiding in the ceiling.

Further search of his bedroom revealed a fire-proof safe containing different charms and talismans in calabashes.

According to the EFCC, the Lebanese admitted they were his “prayer objects”. Two luxury cars were also recovered from him.

Rabo said the commission was investigating Koudeih and his wife’s immigration status and the result was being expected.

He said it had been confirmed that they had Lebanese ancestry but it was not known if they had any other nationality.

The nationality of the two other suspects, he explained, was not yet known.

Rabo stated that local and international law enforcement agencies had indicated interest to collaborate in the investigation.

Adewale Ayuba, a secondary school student, has stabbed a schoolmate to death during a cult clash between Oto Awori Secondary School and Government Secondary Schoolboys at Ijanikin in Lagos State.


Ayuba, who is 16-year-old, was arrested by the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps (LNSC) and handed over to the police.

The LNSC's spokesman, Olawale Afolabi, disclosed this in a statement released on Sunday.

“When the LNSC operation team got the information, they notified Ijanikin police station. The police in conjunction with LNSC took the deceased to the hospital. The boy that committed the offence ran away but he was fished out and arrested by our men who handed him over to Ijanikin police station for further action,” said Afolabi.
