ChriGo: ....Nope...u have to pay our money ....first semester tuition deposit noni....typically they give you 2weeks deadline to pay the tuition deposit...you have the grace to extend the payment deadline tho'....all the same you must pay our money......i would go with UPEI though(undergraduate)...u only need to pay $100 tuition deposit compare to Lambton college OWO TABUA deposit($7000)...lol........

1) Every application is unique
2) Different strokes for different folks

Amefrica,has spoken nicely n so has others who claim dey got TRV witout SOP.

But as av learnt SOP is needed most wen u av complications in ur apps.

i have both WAEC and GCE(WAEC) result. my waec grades are all C's with two distinctions in irrelevant subjects while the GCE result is okay with six distinctions. i actually disregarded the waec gce result and making use of the internal waec .
Now planning to write SAT and apply to an american/canadian uni. but when i checked the grade requirement of these schools i realised my waec didnt meet up with it but gce(waec) met the requirement.
my question is,do american and canadian uni. recognise GCE result? and been that they would be requiring my high school transcript as an international student,how do i explain the difference in the school name of the secondary school transcript and that on the WACE GCE result.
please haos...i need a reply asap.

I applied online for my TRV on the 1st of July, 2014 only to discover a few days later that I made a huge mistake with my application…I discovered the following:

(1) CIC FORMS: My Family information form was totally incomplete and I also gave wrong information. Due to rush or sheer carelessness I entered a wrong date of birth for myself, which is totally different from my real age (what’s in my international passport). my parents are deceased and I did not include their death dates and city as requested on the form, I failed to declare if I had children or not and sign as required (even though I’m currently single let alone to have kids). I also did not include the country of birth of my siblings in the space provided. and ooops!! I remembered what someone said on this thread about how CIC declines application for people who either provide wrong information or fail to fill their forms completely (https://www.nairaland.com/1475467/travelling-canada-part-5/347)

(2) LOE: My letter of Explanation was not as detailed as it may have been for most people in here. Though just a page, no introduction, didn’t state why I chose to study in Canada, didn’t mention why my uncle was my co-sponsor, let alone state what he stands to benefit from sponsoring me. I only talked about why I chose my course of study, what my academic expectations are and the gap I hope to fill back home with the skills I acquire after study. I also talked a little about my work experience and why I decided to study in the school where I got admitted to and that was all.

I found out about this thread after I had submitted my application and I felt really depressed and looked forward to a denial. I sooo wished I had visited this thread before submitting my application and I knew it can only take Gods unmerited favor for this to be successful, so i fasted and did a lot of prayer work. In fact, at a point i stopped praying and still feared I was going to be denied but lo and behold:

I received a medical request on the 28th of July
Did medicals at Asaju-31st July
Passport Request- 5th August
TRV stamped and passport pickup-8th August

Documents submitted include: CIC forms, My account statement, my co-sponsors (Uncle) account statement, pension statement, Affidavit of sponsor, Letter of Sponsorship, my share certificate, SOP, letter of acceptance, employment letter, promotion letter, paystubs, staff id card, NYSC certificate, degree certificate and transcripts, police clearance certificate, passport info and digital photograph.

Note: I and my uncle don’t bear same surname and I didn’t include my parent’s death certificates

Moral of the story: There’s a God factor which supersedes every human endeavor and there can always be an exception to every rule. But only with God will all things be possible. Congrats to those who already got their TRV’s and to the medicals and TRV hopefuls, PLEASE commit everything to God. Even those who are over qualified still get denied. To those who use their time and resource (data, relevant documents) to attend to various queries in here and guide prospects with viable tips on the application process(Even more than most agents would do)…God will duly reward you with Favor in everything you set your heart to do…

Canadian schools accept transfer students, so they sud b able to transfer students to other schools #Just my thoughts o#

I just got admission for my masters program in canada..the deal nau is I am onto my visa processing my uncle whom promised to act like my sponsor has failed me, even tho he is nt paying my fees. My dad is taking care of my bill(Tuition and all)...buh we cldnt use his account because it is only his pension of 250k that comes in every month into the account and we withdraw it immediately it comes in. we have properties. As par gaining admission,yes Some univ n colleges av some courses whose entry requirement for old student is experience not certificates (Chek MUN or Brandon as example and also chek websites of som oda schs) this part dey easy. Have seen clauses related to dis on some schs website.

The hard part is convincing d VO say no be say u wan 'Ben Johnson' (Run away) from Nija. So on dis note u av alot of work to do in convincing the VO.

And as par wat d first contributor said, i tink he is talkin abt oda means of entering canada i.e FSW,asylum n all
