Owing to international pressure, his execution was postponed and he was rather incarcerated. By late 2017, his sentence had been commuted to 2 years in prison. He remain in jail till date.

Name: Raif Badawi 2012
Country: Saudi Arabia
Current status: In Prison.
Charges: Apostasy - Condemning Islamic ultra conservatism and promoting liberal reform on internet.
Sentence: 10 years in prison, 1000 lashes, fine.

On grounds of apostasy, his family in-laws filed a court action to divorce him from his wife. Raif's wife remained loyal and defensive of him but had to flee the country after anonymous death threats.
In 2014, Raif's own lawyer driven by Raif's case launched an organization to monitor human rights in the country, but was charged and sentenced to 15 years in prison and 15 years travel ban for this.

Name: 25 Sudanese 2015
Country: Sudan
Charges: Apostasy - Hadith rejection and following a different interpretation of Islam.
Sentence; None, eventually freed on bail after serving nearly 5 months in prison prior to any trial.

Also read worth reading is the case of Sudanese Mariam Ibrahim 2014.

Name: Hashim Aghajari 2002
Country: Iran
Charge: Apostasy - Discouraging of blind imitation or obedience to clerics, criticism of mainstream Islam & reformist Muslim thoughts in speeches.
Sentence: Death, according to the clerics. The court commuted his sentence to 3 yrs in jail, 2 years probation and 5 years suspension of his social rights.
Currently: Freed.

(1) Bill:-- Let's tax anyone have luxurious properties like private JET, HOTEL, etc, and use the money to chatter for the poor, the Senate President, silent the move by saying, discriminatory bill is not good, we can't tax people because they are rich.

(2) Bill:-- Let's be giving the Poor people #30,000 naira monthly to relieve them of their poverty, the Senate seats under the control of Saraki said, Nigeria Government does not have the capacity to pay it, Ooh!!! What about #5K monthly to the Poor of POOREST? Saraki, killed the bill, under the guise that Nigeria Government have economic challenges. 2months later, the National Assembly (HOUSE OF LOOTERS) went and bought bullet proof Jeep and called it #37million each, after the journalist investigation, we were told, each Jeep cost #10million, yet, Nigerian kept silent.

(3) Bill:-- Pass a bill of special court to try any corrupt people in government and send them to the prison as soon their properties is confiscated, Saraki DESTROYED the Bill.

The same NATIONAL ASSEMBLY (HOUSE OF LOOTERS) raise a motion to kill any Nigerians with

Exactly. You get it. If you go once, if you have the means to go 100 times it is better to chanel the money on your poor neighbors to uplift their living standards. This is more rewarding than flying to haj every year to show off for no reason.

Yes, it's not my money, but Islam teaches selflessness, i think any thing beyond 10x is way too high.

In Nigeria it is selfishness.

2. The Nigerian Government subsidizing Dollar rates for pilgrimage (both Jerusalem & Mecca in 2016/17) at the detriment of the economy was really unfair. Tax is paid by people of all religions who don't give a shiit about your pilgrimage. Why inconvenience others worshipping God ?

this is just one of the reasons why I don't support state funding pilgrimages. Let the rich finance the poor using their personal wealth not the govt.

3. Conclusion: Hajj is for those who can truly afford it...even if you can do so 100x , remember the purpose for going. Selfishness isn't one of them.

see, Buhari did the right thing. He's saving the economy. Part of that is to cancel state sponsorship for the pilgrimages. Islam is clear on the issue. Haj being one of the pillars of Islam is for only those WHO CAN AFFORD THE COST AND ARE PHYSICALLY FIT TO STAND THE CHALLENGES. If anyone wants to sponsor pilgrims it sould be individual not the govt. Survival of the economy prevails haj.

God doesn't depends on His humans to prove His existence. There had been discoveries and there will forever be discoveries. Reason for that is that, every thing that will be discovered presently and in the future already came with Adam(as). You can argue this is fairy tale. All discoveries already came with him. But God in His infinite Mercy allows these discoveries to emerge eat appropriate time. For instance, there was no cell phones or Moto cars in The 6th century because they were not appropriate for that time. Every Discovery develops with TIME. This is why TIME is not static. Whatever will be discovered 20yr from now was already with Adam for our consumption and God has full knowledge of them before they are discovered at all. Every soul, behavior, discovery, invention, or aspect of life past, present, and future is mentioned in the Qur’ān.

وَلاَ رَطْبٍ وَلاَ يَابِسٍ إِلاَّ فِي كِتَابٍ مُّبِينٍ

"(There is) naught of wet or dry but (it is noted) in a clear record." 6:59

Allāh is saying that everything living (wet) or non-living (dry) is mentioned in the Holy Qur’ān. That is, all scientific discoveries, regarding living or non-living things, are mentioned in the Qur’ān, but not everyone can discern them.

Quran for instance, already predicted aircraft over 1400yrs ago.

Traveling by air

"And to Solomon (We subjugated) the wind: its morning stride was a month’s journey and the evening stride was a month’s journey." (34:12)

it expresses the subjugation of the wind to Solomon as one of his miracles, says: ‘The Prophet Solomon covered the distance of two months walk in two strides by flying through the air.’ By this it suggests that the road is open for mankind to cover the same distance in the air. ‘So, O mankind! Since the road is open to you, attain this level and do so’

Therefore, at that time of revelation of the verse, muslims might not understood that was until generations later when aircrafts discoveries were made. There are many more and more.

Qur'an speaks:

"And with Him (are the) keys (of) the unseen, no (one) knows them except Him. And He knows what (is) in the land and in the sea. And not falls any leaf but He knows it. And not a grain in the darkness[es] (of) the earth and not moist and not dry but (is) in a Record Clear." 6:59

The point here is, if something can't be explain or known, we shouldn't jump into conclusion, oh it's God or some kind of supernatural, that is argument from ignorance!. It's better to just said we don't know yet, maybe in the future we will know and move on, it doesn't hurt or does it?

we are human therefore, no matter your intelligent capacity we can never possibly comprehend everything. We only know what God decides for us to know.

sister, why are you worried about sects or different groups?. Even in politics everywhere around the world they have different groups. In Nigeria you have to major political parties APC, PDP, isn't?. At the end of the day, both parties are working on the same causes with slight differences.

So are these two major sects of Islam, "SUSHI" i:e Sunni and Shia. This is the least you should worry about. Allah doesn't care about which of the parties from two two you belong. What matters is once you are convinced that Islam is the truth, all you need is to know the basics. These basics are enough to take you to paradise, in sha Allah.

They are 6 articles of fatih (Iman):

1. Believe in One True God

2. Believe in His Angels

3. Believe in His Divinely Revealed Books

4. Believe in all His messangers

5. Believe is predestination

6. Believe in Judgement Day

These are Faiths that MUST be intact. Once you have faith in these, and you are convinced, then you are now obliged to practicalize them. This makes you a Muslim outwardly.

They are 5 tenets if Islam:

* Believe in Allah (shahada). This is a phrase that officially brings you to our Islamic family by saying I testify that there is no deities worthy of worship except Allah, and I testify that Muhammad is His messangers

* You must pray 5 daily prayers as Muslims pray

* You must pay zakat (annual charity) if you have the means.

* You must fast in the Holy month of Ramadan

* You must perform pilgrimage to mecca if you have the means

These are the practical activities ordained for us as muslims. Other voluntary acts you can learn as you improve yourself. You have no business to worry about Shia, Sunni or subsects. God does not judge us as homogenous people. He judges us individually. You will not be judge because your are Sunni or Shia. Allah will judge you based on your Faith not by a group you belong (if any).

I hope this clarifies everything. Now with that been said, you should accompany your Faith and this obligatory practices with righteous-good deeds.

Actually, it is not necessarily "prayer" because it is not specific either. Muslims can easily say in prayers for our dead ones like:

* May Allah forgive him or her
* May Allah have mercy on him or her
* May Allah grant him or her Paradise
* May Allah overlook his or her faults ..... and the like.

Otherwise just saying RIP cannot benefit the dead anything. Not everyone in the grave rest in peace. But I agree it may be a courtesy one way or the other.

I'm not speaking for any Religion, I'm just letting you know you're being subjective when you claim only one God exist when there are other Gods.

You don't need to tell me only one God exist, just argue about your God and move on, if you insist on claiming only one God exist then you have to start proving why each of these other Gods doesn't exist, only your God exist.

You are getting ridiculous everyday. There are always illustrations for us on this planet earth. How do you think a country would properly function if there are multiple presidents in one country?. If president A decides to give Free Healthcare, president B might disagree and decides to charge a fee. President A might decide to go to war while president B might prefer peace treaty. Simple proof that there is only God is, imagine there are multiple Gods, if God A decides rain and cool weather today while God B prefers hot sun and hot weather. This is a major disagreement and their Sovereignty would have crumbled because they would definitely fight for supremacy. Hence, the Noble Quran says Q21:22:

Sahih International: Had there been within the heavens and earth gods besides Allah , they both would have been ruined. So exalted is Allah , Lord of the Throne, above what they describe.

Pickthall: If there were therein gods beside Allah, then verily both (the heavens and the earth) had been disordered. Glorified be Allah, the Lord of the Throne, from all that they ascribe (unto Him).

Yusuf Ali: If there were, in the heavens and the earth, other gods besides Allah, there would have been confusion in both! but glory to Allah, the Lord of the Throne: (High is He) above what they attribute to Him!

Shakir: If there had been in them any gods except Allah, they would both have certainly been in a state of disorder; therefore glory be to Allah, the Lord of the dominion, above what they attribute (to Him).

Muhammad Sarwar: Had there been other deities in the heavens and the earth besides God, both the heavens and the earth would have been destroyed. God, the Lord of the Throne, is too Glorious to be as they think He is.

Mohsin Khan: Had there been therein (in the heavens and the earth) gods besides Allah, then verily both would have been ruined. Glorified be Allah, the Lord of the Throne, (High is He) above what they attribute to Him!

It is his opinion. There is nothing wrong with naming your child Nurdeen, Muyideen etc.
