This is very serious and dangerous. We have talked about this few yrs ago. This is crazy. i wanted to say the people are making "tawasul" but they are doing shirk obviously. And the so called "pious sheikh" was actually misguided. Only Allah's Names and His perfect Attributes and durood on the prophet(saw) is allowed in dhikr. For the fact that he was mixing Jinn's names with dhikrAllah makes him some sort of mushrik. I hope Allah have mercy on him. He caused problems for the muslims in the region.

Ziyara we are asked to do at the grave is sending prayers on the dead person not praying to them or asking from them. This sheikh Ben Halima really tried by exposing them. I hope the people in South African doing these now open their eyes. The shirk they committed is by directly asking the dead so called pious sheikh instead of asking Allah. Khalas

And i am surprised no learned Ulamma in the region warned people from doing this nonsense?. This is sad. Again, this is importance of knowledge and especially knowledge of fiqh before doing anything. Knowledge precedes practice bcus Allah (SWT) said:

"Know ME before you worship ME".

Many people today dont want to know Allah before they worship. They end up doing stupid-silly things. The reason they dont get to reason that they are doing something wrong is bcuz the Jinn have taken away their thinking capacity. This is what Sheikh Muhammad Mustapha Ashile (RA) once said in his lecture that "when you seek help from the jinn and rely on them and make pact with them, they give you your needs but take away your ilaakaye (sense) as he put it. "Help" should only be given with CONDITION FREE. If not, then, stay away. Obviously the so called 'pious sheikh' was not pious. The beginning of his mistake is when he mixed jinns' names with dhikr of Allah, and people think he is the one doing the karamat. This is the problem we have today. Those people trooping graves according to this video obvious disregard Allah. The implication is, by disregarding Allah, satan takes over your way. What they were doing was not even "tawasul". What the 'sheikh' did might be considered "minor shirk" but the people even strayed far by devoting their times to the grave and calling on him to heal them. Whereas it was network of jinns who technically tasked themselves without human knowing. May Allah forgive the sheikh and the people too.

See, this is why some muslim ulama advice to stay away 100% from this thing. As much as graves visitation is permissible in islam, it should be ONLY those who are firmly grounded should allowed not every Tom Dick and Harry. Lots of low lives, ill-informed have crept into this making ziyara look stupid. As have said before, help that has to do with making a pact with them should be avoided. Ruhaniya i know about made no such pact. That's why i asked my sheihk what do you do for him in return?. He replied that "you only take care of alfas that help you with du'a. That's all". Nothing like pact. And only Allah's Names and durood on nabi is allowed in dhirk. A muslim shouldn't be calling on jinn or mentioning jinn's name even if you have good intention. Thats what the sheikh did. He mixed it and they stayed with him even after he is gone. Sacrifices are to be directed to Allah not human or jinn. These we were taught as a child but many just feel to proud to learn basic fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence).

I came across a video last night that seems to be about the sheikh in S. Africa you talked about. I haven't comprehensively watched it. They should have no business staying by his grave even if he had conversations with them when he was alive.

Think of standing before Allah swt on the day of judgment thinking I have done da'wah, and prayed and read Qur'an that there will be no major sins on my scale on the day of judgment, .....and then suddenly sins appear that I had not even taken in to account.
What if I sinned but shaytaan made me forget to make taubah...? or what if i committed a sin for which my taubah was not accepted?

What if i hurt someones' feelings and didn't know but they held it against me? What if I teach someone an evil thing & they went ahead teaching others! Allahu Akbar!

I ask al-Afuw (the one who erases sins) to not just cover my sins but erase them and wipe the slate clean.
Wallahi I think good of Allah, but i am scared and so should you on the basis of a dream that the uncle of the Prophet (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) had; Abbas RA states 'I had not seen a person better than Umar, he spent his nights praying, his days fasting and fulfilling the needs of people.

When he died I asked Allah to show him to me in a dream. Allah showed him to me, I saw him walking through Madinah. I asked him "what did you find after death?" and Umar replied "i have just finished
being questioned, my throne (position as a ruler) almost caused me to fall, except that I found a Merciful Lord"

Even the son of Umar RA, Abdullah ibn Umar saw his father in a dream and asked him how long his
questioning had lasted in the grave, and Umar RA responded 'it has just finished and when he woke he realized it had been 12 years since the death of 'Umar!
Bear in mind this is Umar RA we are talking about, the man that the Prophet (saw) said would be a
Prophet, if there was to be a Prophet after him, the man that the shaytaan was scared of and would run across the street if he saw him, the man that opened up more territory for the Muslims under his rule
than any other! And he was not spared from questioning... 12 yearrrrrrs in the grave!
Make taubah now, in the 3rd part of the night, ask Allah to forgive you for your sins and to not hold you accountable for that which you have not taken in to account for He is the best of those who are merciful.

And it seems your definition of "spiritual" especially in context like this is about someone or family member somewhere is hindering progress. This is not generic definition. Spiritual can simply mean while you work hard, you are also steadfast in God to ease your burdens, your ways, your life, etc. But prayers without work is futile. Also if you are too materialistic and defile God (as you are doing right now) and everything seems to be going good in your favor and you think it is by your might, God will continue to allow you to play God until your time is up. Thats pharaonic approach. Such people will eventually end up the way Pharaoh ended

If you think this is a spiritual thing, am sorry you will just be finding or looking for what it is not, your "fear" with that of your husband will think there are some negative forces pulling you back. I understand this is depressing but one should not let that control onself.

Failure happens, that's the first thing you and your husband need to accept, there are good time and bad time, always see this as a challenge, that is what make us human.

My advice is, if your husband is not actually experience in contractor business, he should seek advice from well experienced people, get close to them, work on his presentation, public relation etc with this there will be positive move.

If you rely only on prayers and think that will solve it am sorry it won't make any move.

Luck is what we all experience sometimes, I don't pray and things work out well for me, I just work more on what i lack, mistakes.

you again?. I don't think you really understand. They didn't rely on prayer alone. Besides, there is a reason prophet Muhammad (saw) recommended Dua for success and work related related issues etc. We also find in the Qur'an where Allah says numerous times that He is the only provider. We have well qualified people who are still out of work. Not because they are lazy. For some reason they have set back everywhere they go. Dua and hardwork work together. You on the other hand don't believe in Dua nor do you believe in the existence of Allah. So your input here is really not necessary. Even Mandela mentioned God in trying to achieve success. But you are promoting the idea that God is not in control. Let me repeat that there are qualified people for certain jobs and they still don't get it and they wonder how less qualified candidates get the job.
