Well, i believe it can be revived at least at micro level - starting from encouraging FARMING. What happens to Ogun State?. I concur with your underlining facts. When i heard this yesterday, i started to think if these people know their priority at all?. Seems to me they think from their anus.

As for highlighted part, I believe Mr. prez is making the right move but lacking priority. I believe that regardless of what MADE IN NIGERIAN products might mean to people, govt should discourage Nigerians from importing food for that matter. I know of a particular house that was built in Delta around 1975. It had same system but the treated shyte water was piped to a small open ditch infront of the house.

From the back of my head I remember a study I read about the greatest fear of the diaspora to invest in Nigeria. From that study, the number one fear is the fear of kidnapping. In fact over 70% of diaspora polled for the study mentioned kidnapping as the number one fear. But an empirical look at available police data in a five year period just under 17 diaspora visiting home were kidnapped or almost kidnapped. If you take this figure and run a regression analysis based on the fact that only 0.2% of diaspora had been kidnapped; the fear of being kidnapped is an unfounded fear statistically. What has this to do with soakaway? Plenty.

In another study I read again away from diaspora investing in Nigeria but on public health, over 80% of diaspora polled had contracted one form of virus infection like Cholera, typhoid, vomiting bug, dysentery or diarrhoea. In fact a whooping 90% said they have known someone back on a visit from Nigeria with virus infection.
