Dont know why this is still issue. Very simple. If anyone wants to discuss issue of bowing or prostration to greet elders, PLEASE DONT USE ARABS as case study. It is not in their culture to bow or prostrate to greet. In Yorubaland however, Allah created us that way. I can understand that, in Islam, we stand to greet. but dont use Arab ad standard to analyse this. When we prostrate to greet elders in Yoruba, our intention is greeting not worship. So this is a neutral case, It is neither Sunnah nor is it shirk. You have to prove it is shirk when we prostrate to greet our parents.

If it was Shirk, Allah in His infinite power would have collapsed the system long before our forefathers were born. It is easy for Arab Muslims and Western Muslims to condemn prostration to elders simply bcuz it is not part of their culture. We as Yoruba Muslims prostrating to elders know too well it is a form of respect. So in order to end the practice, you need hikma to do so. But the way people condemn it is complicating the issue further. Nabi (salaAllah alaiy wasalaaam) did not enforce ban on alcohol one time. He persuaded them many times before it was completely eradicated. So if you want to be "omo ale jati jati (bastard), when you wake up in the morning, shake your parents hands "e ka ro ma/sa". You will get a dirty slap. Matter of fact, you may even commit sin by disobeying them.

So the mode people condemn greeting in Yorubaland (not being sunnah) is appalling. They did not apply wisdom even though they are correct. I watched a video about it weeks ago and the Uztah was just yelling "DONT BOW TO GREET NO ONE. DONT PROSTRATE TO GREET ANYONE. Not even your parent". The way he passed his message sends wrong message to youths. They will disrespect their parents. Compared to the way Sheikh Kamaldeen(ra) passed the same message. He explained the issue with hikma.

Please dont use Saudi and other Arabs as a case study. They have in their culture to kiss their parents' feet. In order to kiss their parent's feet, the must prostrate. Theirs is even worst. When Sheikh Ibn Utheimeen(ra) was asked about kissing feet, he said 'intention is to kiss feet not worship". He finds it difficult to condemn the act bcuz he knows it is a common practice amongst the Arabs just like we have ours in yoruba. But others Arabs scholars would condemn yoruba mode of greetings. We dont prostrate to our parents to worship them. It is greeting. When obama met King Abdullah, he prostrated. Why did not king rebuff him?.

So this case needs to be put to rest. If you shake your parents hands and they are very understanding, that's btw you and them but dont be telling people not to bow to greet their parents. After all, having done some extensive research, bowing or prostration that Quran and hadith are talking about is FOREHEAD MUST NOT TOUCH THE GROUND NOT EVEN TO GREET ANYONE.

Imam Tajul-Adab stepped forward (as the Imam/Leader of the group of saints), and told sheikh Kamaal to stay beside him to pray. After the prayer session, the Imam said: My people, this is the boy I have been mentioning to you (all). He made each and every one of them to pray for him. Sheikh Kamaal was reported to have said: “Alfa Agba mu mi lo ibi tii tii kirun, osi ko mi bii tii kii (Alfa Agba/Grand Shaykh {Taju al~Adab} took me to where he prays {in the divine realms of the most high}, and he taught me how he prays there)”. Alfa Agba also once said that if he successfully takes someone to the midst of the saints (i.e. in their prayer place), that person automatically becomes one of them.


It was also said that when Alfa Taju wanted to pass on (he was in his 30s then), he was on his death bed and Sheikh Kamaal sat beside him. The Grand Sheikh kept stirring at the other side and also at this side (where his boy kamaal was). Alfa Agba said (narrating what he was seeing): Here is the River of Kaothar (in Paradise) and my wives presented to me. And nothing else is stopping me from moving ahead except the fact that, I know Kamaal will have many enemies. He kept inquiring (spiritually) whether the boy was going to be victorious, and when he got the information as to the CERTAINTY OF VICTORY, he bid them farewell and passed on-------Confirmed and narrated by Sheikh Abdul~Ganiyy Aboto in the Funeral Lecture video of Sheikh Kamal~deen Al~Adaby (not at all in exact words).

Thereafter, he suddenly left his native town without notice and did not return until after ten years, when he was an Uwaysi, that is, having no physical teacher or spiritual guide. It was said that Sheikh Abdul~Qadir Jaelani was his Master & Teacher in Ruuh/Spirit during this 10 years of absence. What an Enigma he was! "His real names are: Sheikh Muhammad Jami'hu Labeeb, aka (Alfa) Taju~l~Adab. He also had his own tareeqah under quadriyyah order and (had) ilham (divinely bestowed knowledge formula) of his own. He wrote books on different courses such as Nahwu and Sarfu (Arabic grammar), all in poetry and the one he used to prove himself as the most knowledgeable of his time (Adidi). The books aren't less than fifty which can be found with the descendant scholars of Shaykh Tajul-Adab.


During his life time He was put to test by all the Ulama'a of and they all agreed to his divine knowledge (Ilm~Laduniyah) whereby he was authentically confirmed that "He was an Absorbed Mystic (Majzoob), Astute Teacher & was one of the Unseen Epithets/Personages amongst Saints (Rijaal Al~Ghaeb)"
Sheikh Tajul~Adab taught his pupils for many hours a day, to the extent that he spits blood after haven spoken too much to students. The young student 'Shaykh Kamal~deen Al Adab' saw his teacher's sufferings/toil and he felt sorry and was crying (out of his love for his teacher), after which Alfa Taju's wife reported the issue. Alfa Tajul-Adab made enquiry as to why the young kamal was crying, and he said: It’s your toil and labor on us (students), and moreover, I don’t understand the lessons.
The mystico~estatic saintly teacher was very impressed by the sheikh’s love for him, and he told him to come along with him and gave him meat out of his meal and told him he’ll never forget all he learnt.”

Has The Conquest Of Constantinople Occurred Already?


The following authentic hadith about the conquest of Constantinople is usually interpreted to refer to the conquest that already took place at the hand of Muhammad (Mehmed) Fatih -- may Allah be well-pleased with him. However, in the light of the Qur'an and other hadiths this narration has also received another interpretation which places its occurrence in the future.


Hadith of the Prophet -- Allah bless and greet him and his Family:


"Lataftahanna al-Qustantiniyya wa lani`ma al-amiru amiruha wa lani`ma al-jayshu dhalika al-jaysh."


"Verily you shall conquer Constantinople. What a wonderful leader will her leader be, and what a wonderful army will that army be!"



This Hadith proves that "conquest of constantinople" was not the battle won by Muhammad Fatih (ra) as some people claimed.


DESOLATION OF MEDINA AND FLOURISHING STATE OF ISRAEL


It is commonly believed that this prophecy of Prophet Muhammad (sallalahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) was fulfilled in 1453 when the Ottoman Turks, under the command of the young Sultan Muhammad (Mehmet) Fatih, conquered Constantinople. However the hadith quoted below makes it quite clear that the conquest will take place in Akhir al­Zaman just prior to the appearance of the Anti­Christ (or al­Masih al­Dajjal) in person (i.e., in the form of a human being who would declare that he is the Messiah):


[size=17pt]The Prophet (ﷺ) said: The flourishing state of Jerusalem will be when Yathrib is in ruins, the ruined state of Yathrib will be when the great war comes, the outbreak of the great war will be at the conquest of Constantinople and the conquest of Constantinople when the Dajjal (Antichrist) comes forth. He (the Prophet) struck his thigh or his shoulder with his hand and said: This is as true as you are here or as you are sitting (meaning Mu'adh ibn Jabal).[/size]


As clear as daylight, this hadith shows "Conquest of Constantinople" is the great war we are expecting. Christians call it armageddon. Muslims call it Malhama - The Great War. Some 500 years since Muhammad Faith won his battle was enough time for appearance of Dajjal. But Dajjal is not here in person in 500 years.

This hadith gives timeline of the events. When Muhammad Fatih won constantinople, Israel was not even born at that time. Now Israel is born and growing, booming and flourishing and built up while Medina is no longer heard of. Medina is fall on, desolation. Islamic relics of Medina were destroyed. Medina itself doesnt have any significant role in the affairs of muslims today. This is proof that the great war is ahead of us.
