So Ruhaniyas are not jinns afterall. They are borne out of duas. In other words, they are formed from duas and dhikr. Jazaakallahu khairaa
Yes, sir. Ofcourse i knew that all along. Just wanted to reaffirm from him. I wanted to tease him that some people insist they are Jinn. He rebuked. He said those people only learn "Islam o fe re fe". You know what that means, right?.

Jamo90:
Hi Empiree, I've got some questions. Please, what's that jabbar dua? Is it the same as the dua you posted few pages back?
You once said that some of the prayers are career prayers. And you know its not easy balancing prayer time with working time. Most people are usually really tired to perform some of those prayers intensely after the day's hustle and bustle. What do you recommend?
Please I'm a very curious guy when it comes to religion(esp tawassuf) and general knowledge. Its one of my weaknesses. I still pray to get over it. So pardon my questions.
No problem. I am sure you can research what Tassawuf is online. But bear in mind that "Tassawuf" was invented. The word used in the Quran and Hadith is Ihsan, which means purification of soul(nafs). But it is not easy to do. Visit my homepage, my recent posts about Sheik Adam's view on it. Tassawuf doesnt give much room for you to do other things like caring for others. Tassawuf is about yourself.

What i meant by "career dua" is prayer that you devoted to your entire life. "Jabbar" is a compilation of dua praising Allah. Is like telling Him to compel your wishes (good). Yes, it's not easy. No one says it is easy. That shows you that this man really tried despite having to meet his daily religious obligations and care for his immidiate family. He told us back in the days that he abstained from woman until he turned 28. This means virginity is very important. Who does this now?. All i can tell you is do as much as you can. Be steadfast on 5 daily salat first. If you cant do that, you cant do beyond. Tassawuf is optional and not for everyone. But it highly rewardable. I wish i am in front of you describing encounters with Alagemo in 1990 or 91. I was perhaps, 12 or 14. They converted to Islam daylight in front of his father's house with many views.
Islam › Re: Jinn Stories by Empiree:
Very important if one learns practically from good sheikh. You see things. He finally said "nkan n be labe sanmo" Things that are not directly mentioned in the Quran (that are in pregnant form) but exist. Thats what I was trying to communicate with Mac. One can only see through those things by doing lots and lots of dhikr (Ihsan, Tassawuf -as we know it). If one does dhikr, no need for ogun(charm).

The fact is Ruhaniyah are pure. They can not be used for haram. They will not respond to that. And the person risk losing his status(my understanding). They are here to correct Waliy and teach them hikma. I was really happy talking with him yesterday. He also briefed me encounters with 3 Alawo (women) around Agemo (Agemo festival in Ijebu). I am aware of this actually. It was dramatic in plain view when we came to see "Agemo". Let's leave this for now. I dont know why I am remembering all these stuff now. Keeps popping up my brain.
Islam › Re: Jinn Stories by Empiree:
2days ago i thought about incident that happened in 1990 on our way from Lagos in 505 vehicle. I couldnt recollect how the whole thing happened. I was much younger. So i called this man yesterday to satisfy my curiosity and he remembers. Mashallah! I truly enjoyed as he continued telling me the story. He said "My son also brought it to my attention few days before this past Ramadan"....a day we will never forget. It happened so fast.

We were coming from Lagos to Ijebu. His son drove the car. He was a teenager at the time and just learned driving. Anyways, instead of him to drive short cut to our destination after arrived Ijebu, he loved driving through downtown....that's, Folagbade. It was daylight. He accidentally hit marked police sergeant luxury car in front of him.

Both he and his father stepped off the car. Police also stepped out and walked angrily towards us with baton. This was during military regime. By the time he's couple of feet close to us, wallahi, Ruhaniyah grabbed or gripped him. It was like electric shock. He was shaking standing. I was sitting in the car but did not quiet understood what happened. It was yesterday i asked him. He said "Awon Ruhaniyah ni". They grabbed him. But he told me yesterday that we are the guilty party because we hit him. But police didnt do anything. They picked raise after seeing what happened.

I also raised tbaba concern with him just to hear what he had to say, he said dont argue with them. They have no idea. Ruhaniyah are not Jinn. They are purely to serve pious muslims and teach them Quran. So the sheik in the video i posted earlier was right. Ruhaniyah teaches waliy of Allah, they make lots of salawat on them and Rosul. This man confirms that as well. He said he would recite Quran and teach him what he knew not. I was just shaking my head yesterday as he narrates. This is really deep. But he just doesnt talk about it. I do.

I asked him again yesterday for surety purposes how he came about Ruhaniyah?. He reaffirmed to me that it was borne out of Sura Yasin (too much of recitation). He also mentioned (dua) Jabbar I posted up there. It's about 62 pages. Jabbar is "Oriki Olohun". He said i thought you used to recite it with us?. Alas! I probably used to recite 2 pages. He then recited it on the phone with me. wallahi i was enjoying it. It exceedingly praises Allah. And Allah 'smiles' hearing reciter. If you recite Jabbar coupled with Yasin, with your purpose(s), wallahi liazm, you will never languish in poverty. This i know for sure. This kind of thing strengthens faith.

He did say (in agreement with tbaba's concern) that there are indeed those who invoke Jinn (ofo-incantation) and Jinn give them condition like telling someone to go off n.k. e/d and run down the street to get power. He told me this yesterday. He said those are haram. Thats worshiping them and it's shirk. But Ruhaniyah are borne out of Dua/dhikr to aid mumin.

The reason i keep bringing this up is to kind of clear doubt about folks like tbaba who somehow doubt this issue. I wanted to be sure what i experienced was accurate. So i reminded him things i have said here. He said "you right" referring to me. This is not a matter of 'show off', rather to proof that we have power of mercy, protection and complete guidance in islam.

I do believe that it's not proper to just chant Allah's name for purpose of seeking wealth. This is what i presumed Sino's Ustaz did. The man told me yesterday that purpose(sincere niyyah) should be seeking knowledge of islam NOT money. It is not haram to do that but it's just not wise. He said if you say you want money, you may be buried (covered) in your room with money. That the person may be killed like that. Thats not healthy. Sino's Alfa was lucky. I also asked why many dont recognize importance of Sura Yasin?...he said "what they dont know they dont know. Just dont argue with them. Didnt you see wonders of Yasin when you were here?" I smiled.

"I am a sufi that is both Qadiri and Tijani because my father was Qadiri and I completed my religious studies at the hand of the Qadiri Master Shaykh Adam Nam'aji of Kano. However, I began my studies with two masters who were both Tijani, Shaykh Salih Muhammad al-Awwal the Preacher and Shaykh Umar al-Abaji the Imam (God have mercy upon them all)."

On the contrary, there are some people who claim that I am a salafi (strict follower of the earliest Muslims). I respond, "Yes, I am a salafi as long as salafiyya indicates taking as a model and following the earliest Muslim generations, due to the saying of Prophet Muhammad (God bless and grant peace to him and his family):'The best of generations is mine, then those who follow them, then those who follow them.'

"I am a salafi only if salafiyya signifies inviting others to adhere to the Book of God and the lifestyle of Prophet Muhammad (God bless and grant peace to him and his family) without denigrating or condemning anyone!

"I am a salafi without wielding a stick against anyone from amongst the earlier or later Muslim community.

"And I am a salafi as long as salafiyya refers to holding to the Sacred Law with practices based on what is flexible and evolving rather than that which is rigid and narrow."

This is the tolerance that we learned from our mothers, fathers, and spiritual guides.

May Allah grant us all the barakah that illuminates from his scholarship and wilaayah/sainthood. May Allah be with and safeguard for us his khaleepha and Mudeer of Markaz Ta’alim al Arabiy, Agege, Lagos, Nigeria. Ameen!!!

THE PRISTINE SUFISM AND PRISTINE SALAFISM

Shaykh Adam (God be pleased with him) says, "Some of the orientalists mistakenly considered me...from the Wahhabi Hanbalis [due to the Shaykh's campaign for reviving the Sunnah and abandoning innovation]...and then others imagined I was a Qadiri or Tijani Sufi, the reality is that I am a Muhammadi Muslim who follows every Imam that is a Muhammadi Muslim."

"People claim that I am a sufi (practitioner of tasawwuf). I respond, "Yes, I am a sufi as long as tasawwuf refers to knowledge, action, compassion, spiritual ecstasy, orthodox belief, and Divinely inspired knowledge. I am a sufi as long as tasawwuf is but an elaboration of Ihsan (inner goodness & excellence), the third part of the true path completed by Islam (outward practice) and Iman (faith).”

"I am a sufi as long as tasawwuf indicates the purification of the soul with mandated acts of obedience to God accompanied by voluntary acts performed seeking Divine proximity. I am a sufi as long as tasawwuf means struggling to overcome the ego and emigrating from sin, due to the saying of Prophet Muhammad (God bless and grant peace to him and his family): 'The true emigrant is the one who emigrates from sin and the true warrior is the one who battles against base desires.'

"I am a sufi as long as tasawwuf means indifference to what is with people and yearning for that which is with God. And I am a sufi only if tasawwuf signifies the unveiling of unseen realities and inspired knowledge of God the Creator.

“Shaykh Adam was a master of the Arabic language, a prolific writer, educator, and community leader. He has scores of books written in Arabic on Ta'rikh (history), Fiqh (jurisprudence), Aqida (Creed), Tasawwuf (Sufism/Islamic Mysicism), lugha (Linguistics), ilm al-hadith (Science of Hadith), tarbiya (Education/Instruction),… anthropology, etc and he never went through any formal schooling. “My father was a Qaadiriyya Sufi. I started learning the Qur’aan from him. I also started Ilimee (Islamic Sciences) with him, after which I studied under the tutelage of Alfa Esin who was a Tijaaniyah. I learnt with Alfa Umar (Imam of Agbaji, Ilorin) who was a Tijaaniyah. I finished/concluded studies with Sheikhg Adam Namaajy who was a Qaadiriyah.

Alfa Salman Ake was the first to initiate me into the Qaadiriyah, after which I took it from Alfa Nda Salaatee, I also took form Alfa Adam Namaajii (Kano). I took it from the Gabas (East). I took from Shehu Naasir Kabara (Kano), I also got initiated (in the Qaadiriyah branch) of Shehu Uthman dan Fodio (Al~Fuudawiyyah).

I became Khaleefah (of Sufi Order) through Shehu Malik Shabdabu ‘in’ Kishajamu: {which consists of; Naqshabandiyyah, Junaydiyyah, Shaadhiliyyah, Marjaniyyah and Qadiriyyah}.

But (my role) in teaching people Islamic Knowledge (kewuu) pulled me back/made me retrogress (in the khilaafah of the spiritual paths), the reason for this is: If one upholds the Tareeqah/Spiritual path, one caters for his Self/Soul (Personal Salvation), and he wont be able to cater for others.”

NOTE: Spiritual Salvation/Journey is a personal one, which entails Jihad an~Nafs (Striving against the Lower~Self/Ego). It is very important to have a Shaykh al~Waseel (Guidance Shaykh), but the implementation of all his/her teachings in the journey strongly depends on the individual courage, discipline and sincerity of the mureed/seeker to reach the pristine destination of being soaked in one’s creator. May Allah make easy for us the journey and grant us the courage, discipline and sincerity to arrive our divine destination with Salaam/Peace/Shalom, Ameen…….

These are open questons. You can easily find info you need on Department of state website.. Anyway, you probably talking about Visiting or business visa. Visting, you definitely need to proof that you are staying in the US temporarily. In this case you will need to show them you have your business to return to in 9ja, or if you are student, you will need to provide status showing that. But if you are not doing anything in 9ja, they will definitely think you are looking for a way out of 9ja. You also need a guarantor in the US. Thats, the person you are visiting, his or her relationship to you. This means you need a letter from US citizen or resident. They will need paystubs or financial sheet of the person. Go and read more on their website. http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english.html

[quote author=tbaba1234 post=28708932]There are levels of spirituality and we are at different levels.

The second period was when i was more knowledgeable and could apply the practises according to the sunnah regularly and on time. The most beautiful aspect of this period is just the tranquility that you move with. Always in a state of tranquility even when things did not work according to plan. A period of complete trust in Allah. Like everything, it goes up and down.
Sure, i got you.

When you talk about spirituality, it is not by shaking gates or dead animals, because jinns can also do that. Often times, it is a more personal experience. High levels of spirituality is what made the Sahaba to expel Jinns with just suratul Fatiha. Raqees today spend a lot more time trying to do the same.
You dont get @bold, do you. Only you and 1 or 2 others dont get it. Others got it. You dont. Do i need to write epistles before you grab it?. This is simply personal experience that is obvious. Period And i dont know why you brought jinn into this.

There are people with very high levels of Iman but even those people experience highs and lows. High levels of spirituality can be achieved by following the sunnah.
Absolutely, following "Quran and Sunnah" is now a simple resounding incantation that seems to mean different things to many muslims now.

And it is not by repeating adkhars that you put no thought into. Your mind must be there to gain benefit.
Absolutely....no one necessarily disagree with this. However, this back n fourth is merely trying to find a hole which is pretty much irrelevant to me. Overall, mashallah.

You are mixing-up what is sound with that which at the very least suspect.

You cannot be more "spiritual" than the Prophet (SAW). It is right to drop anything that is not found in his sunnah as innovation and without apologies too.

[s]We cannot say because people of other faiths are performing (wonders) which is basically an euphemism for magic that we Muslims have to copy them.[/s] Are we to start using non-Muslims as standard for Muslims?
You dont get it at all brother. And i have no time to waste over this. It's clear and simple. No one is advocating copying people of the Book here. Nor is anyone claiming to be more spiritual than the prophet (Allah's blessing be upon him and his household). This is a matter of methodology not bid'ah as you like us to believe. There are things communicated in the Qur'an and Hadith that are in "pregnant form". Some are symbolic etc. But reading mechanically as you want us to believe may never comprehend.

And let me tell you this but you are free to object to it. The right methodology is, say for instance, Albaqir gives me a hadith like "Ibn Umar(ra) said the prophet (saw) said if you read ikhlas 3x every night, Allah will give you xyz rewards in this world and forgive your sin".

If tbaba for instance claims this hadith is da'ef or fabricated, My approach is "i dont care". It's dua from Quran. Full stop. I dont care of who relate what or "science grade" behind it etc. But if tbaba disagrees, all i have to say is why not go practical and let's see what you get instead of simply condemning it da'ef or fabricated?. Doesnt that makes sense?. Anything after that is bluffing.

What you should be condemning is solitary hadith like "dont greet Mr. A if he passes by you. Let him greet you first" or like Aisha married prophet at 6(nauzubillah). These are clear fabricated ahadith that we should be concerned with not dua.

Surah Yasin is Allah's word. Our first approach should be positive. Forget about who narrated what. Claiming it's da'ef or fabricated is just too irrelevant for me. And remember this is not binding on anyone. I say, why dont you do the same (devout yourself on this dua instead of unnecessary "science grade". Thats for educational purposes and irrelevant to me.

It really bothers me for you to say "Are we to start using non-Muslims as standard for Muslims?". You actually think this is what i was advocating all along?. Chai, bro. This is great damage they have caused us. I thought you would get it. I am simply saying muslims need to reconnect. Not miracle this or that. Story i was telling was simply practical reference. Really simple

What i see mainstream folks doing today is "refuting" one another. This is very unhealthy and irrelevant as far as i am concern. This is what i saw them do on Facebook and other sites arguing back and fourth. I found it very unintelligent and dropped out if it. They are mainstream muslims like you brothers here seem to be doing. I am not interested in that @all. Ocean of knowledge is broad. Brother lanrexlan kinda summed up in the latest post.
