Islam › Re: Jinn Stories by Empiree:
tbaba1234,

Here is the thing though. We should not just quote 1400yrs old texts and leave it there. Rather the texts and works of early Ulama are stepping stones for us. Other than using isnad to determine authenticity of suspicious hadith, the other way is to practically test its authenticity in the case like this.

Some ahadith can be tested by just waiting for event(s) to unfold. Like ahadith of prophecies.

Now back to Sura Yasin, you can hold your view that it's da'ef or fabricated. I dont. I dont know method you used when you learned this. But I am suspicious it's by studying and reading. But when I was growing up, I was more practical than reading. It's only now that I am reading to affirm some things I had practically involved in.

As a matter of fact, I just came across those ahadith of Sura Yasin few days ago. Tagging it weak or fabricated is definitely not something I can accept because:

1. I actually lived amongst those who practically recited it.

2. All the fantastic worldly rewards mentioned in the ahadith of Sura Yasin, I experienced them. They are obviously exactly as hadith predicted.

3. Eye witness: I saw and felt the power of Sura Yasin.

For example, we made this dua for a stingy client. We had to recite Yasin 1,111. But with this much, he must buy a cow as instructed but he refused. He bought a kind of big ram instead. The prayer was done overnight. By the time we finished and went outside to sacrifice ram, it was dead while standing. We said 'we told you so'. It was then client believed.

Another client did similar. After we finished prayers and ready to sacrifice, this is even a big ram. No blood gushed out from the gullet. The whole thing was white. Not even a drop of blood. This means the ram was clinically dead beforehand.

Another example was after the man in question completed Surah Yasin for himself, his compound fence and gate started shaking (rumbling). We stood outside and chanting Allahu Akbar resoundingly.

Another example was when the man, me and his 2nd son were walking down his street, a woman was scared and ran for cover. I asked him what's wrong with her?. He replied she must be afraid of Yasin. He said those who afraid of it have something to hide...like they are Aje (witches). He explained this to us that evil people instead of seeing him, Yasin transforms to wild animal trying to chase them.

I may not be scholar to upgrade this ahadith of Sura Yasin but at the minimum, I can definitely confirm it's sahih through my practical experiences. I was not just reading.

I believe that those rewards, at least worldly rewards mentioned in the hadith can only be achieved due to excessive devotion of the sura NOT part-time. That is, it's has to be "career dua" in order to scythe these benefits. Not only when one encounters problems.

Remember I was narrating a story about this man. Sura Yasin is his career dua all his life. The only time he worked outside of his home was when he was teenager up to early 20s as an electrician in Lagos. Since then he had focus on prayers which put food on his table. He's married with 4 wives and 17 children. He has large compound with 2 heavy buildings, and an average building described as bungalow in it. That's 3 buildings in a compound.

In the same city, he has about 15 lands, at least 2 plots each of which 4 of them are fenced with gates. He also (because he wants to be able to move around) has poultry and fish ponds. He also has a large building in Lagos. Another 3 lands somewhere in Lagos. Another big one as big as tourists attraction in the Eastern Nigeria.
Yet he works for nobody. So to my knowledge these are all I know. He may even have more that I have no idea. Now please go back up there and re-read my 1st, 2nd and 3rd posts about ahadith of Yasin's rewards and benefits dated Nov. 28 and compare them with these values/virtues. You can't get beat that.

Even though he does not work outside his home, and at this age, the only thing he relies on is tawakal ala allah. For instance, this past ileya (Eld adha), few weeks before, he told me he has no money to execute it. But 2 days before eld I was told by his daughter he just bought 3 rams and a cow. Now can you deduce this from Nigeria economy today unless you are in to politics?. How could he afford that when he doesn't work outside his home?. This is called tawakal ala allah.

When I was there, during Ramadan each year, he would slaughter a big ram (Agbo nla funfun) every 10 days after completing Surah Yasin 313 (Three hundred and thirteen) with khutba and a dua called Jabar. He must finish this every 10 days before slaughtering rams.

In summary He recites Sura Yasin 939 times in Ramadan.

Also for Odun Ileya (Eld Adha), he buys nothing less than 6 Rams and a cow. Let me break this down for you. He buys average 3 rams... 1 for his father, 1 for his mother 1 for his aunt (his father's sister).

He buys another 3 big rams.... 1 for his dua Yasin which he must complete before Arafat (before sacrificing it). The other 2 big rams and big cow are for him and his family.

Note, rams he buys for dua, he and his immediate family(i:e his wives and children) do not eat from them. It's mokruh(dislike) for the nature of this dua. This is secret. You dont know this brother. He disseminates cow to the poor. He also gives away those rams for his dua. Remember I narrated this earlier. Bro, there is a lot to learn. I was not just reading growing up. I was more practical. That's why I have to say I am sorry I have to dismiss the so called da'ef and fabricated hadith of Sura Yasin. If you want more stories. I will tell you more about him. But what you are doing is reading. Mechanical learning. Nothing much to deduce from that.

Mechanical learning yields little or no result. Point is if worldly rewards are factual, probability of "unseen rewards" in afterlife are very much possible as stated in the ahadith but I dont particularly worry myself about that. "Rewards" in afterlife is the key.

The science of hadiths are well documented.
i knew you would come to this

Most of these hadiths are weak or fabricated, this will be based on weakness in isnad or lack of it.
i knew it is because of isnad. Definitely this particular hadith is not false but i challenge its weakness.

Scholars can debate about authencity of some hadiths but as far as I have learnt, most of hadith of surah yaseen are weak or fabricated.
Debate or not. Learned it or not. The Sura Yasin is dua. And the only way to test its authenticity is by practical . Let's see what comes out of it. Did you come across this when you were learning it?

Now, unless you are a hadith scholar, you are not an authority and I am sorry, I can not take your opinions seriously.
I don't claim this neither will I take their works absolute. Why did they skip fabricated hadith then in Bukhari attributed to Aisha (ra) saying rosul married her at 6?. But many among ulama still hold it authentic but dispute authenticity rewards of surah Yasin.

A weak hadith does not mean a false hadith. It means there is a weakness in the transmission. It could be correct.
A weak hadith doest not mean throwing it out or neglecting it. I dont know why this hadith of surah Yasin mysteriously tagged weak. As you can see, hadith scientists or islamaq don't dispute "rewards in this life" from the benefits of this surah. Their only problem seems to be "rewards in lifeafter" which I dont see big deal with. All I know is Allah will reward me for it.

Question is if rewards in this life are obvious, tagging it weak or false in itself is false. Thats common sense, isnt?.

There is no way to determine those 'afterlife rewards'. According to you, unless it's Mutawatir i:e numerous narrators.

Most of these hadiths are weak or fabricated, this will be based on weakness in isnad or lack of it.

most of
which are, however, false and fabricated,
and some of which are slightly weak
(da’eef).
What standard they used to arrive at this conclusions?

We have not found any saheeh
hadeeth which speaks specifically of the
virtues of Soorat Ya-Seen.
This doesn't mean anything. At least it (the so called daef or fabricated hadith) has one chain.

“Everything has a heart, and the heart of
the Qur’aan is Ya-Seen; whoever reads it, it
is as if he has read the Qur’aan ten times.”

“Whoever reads Soorat Ya-Seen in one night
will be forgiven in the morning.”

“Whoever continues to read it every night
then dies, will die as a shaheed (martyr).”
“Whoever enters the graveyard and reads
Soorat Ya-Seen, their (punishment) will be
reduced that day, and he will have hasanaat
(reward) equal to the number of people in
the graveyard.”
These are a matter of unseen rewards They can nether be confirmed nor denied. But since the so called scholars of hadith categorized them as weak or false, on what is that based?. Did God or His prophet (saw) denied them or refuted those rewards? Fact is this is unnecessary emphasis.

I am not done yet. I will return here to tackle or refute http://islamqa.info/en/75894 using practical tactics.

Advice on Friends!

A real friend wishes his companions well,
He's not one who allows them to get close to hell,
Always be careful of the friends you choose,
So, in the end, Janah you will not lose,
If you find your companion is not stopping your wrong,
then, be weary, his friendship is not strong.
If you see the pattern made,
that when you are under your friend's shade,
Your Iman begins to fade,
Leave the worthless creation,
make friends with Allah, Surely that is a high station!.
A dervish who had knowledge of our present situation,
Once told his students the following dictation,
"The meeting of people will never enrich you,
save with the gibberish of useless gossip.
So diminish your meeting with people,
except for knowledge or to improve your condition" ~Empiree

Peace At Last

Walking through the woods on a snowy day,
Seeing the crystal blanket was so deep,
I made a wrong turn and lost my own way.
Sliding over the hill Allah made so steep,
Finding the perfect place where I could rest,
I sat down beneath a tree that looked best.
As I sat watching the snow calmly fall,
I then laid me down to give up my all.
Curling up to go to sleep on the ground,
Hearing the voice of my friend calling me,
No longer would I utter one more sound.
Death takes my hand and pulls me from the tree.
Escaping a thornful life for my gain,
I'll reach a home of peace that has no pain.

Society's Disease

Racism, the great crime of humanity.
Why does one's race always claim superiority?
We are all the same; there is no inferiority.
When we look at each other we see a resembling face.
We all have a body and a soul of grace.
As individuals, we do have differences.
Some of us may take risks and chances.
Others of us may be shy and give few glances.
We should find common ground and make peace.
The hatred and killing should desist and cease.
We are all the children of Adam and in life have a lease.
We should lend a helping hand to each other.
We should remember that Eve is our common mother.
We should love our human sisters and brothers.

Poetry by Lena Winfrey Seder

Sr. Lena is a convert to Islam who currently resides in the Sudan.

Desert Rose

I began my journey the day I was born.
My name told my destiny.
Yet, it remained hidden for me to discover.
I traveled a long time to get to this moment.
So many cactuses I stumbled over in the dark.
No star lighted my path-- I was not yet awake.
Naivety guided me into sandstorms that made wounds in my soul.
Ignorance blinded me as the cactus' thorns scratched me.
However, these wounds propelled me forward and kept me on
a certain path.
One day, when I looked ahead, I saw an oasis.
A mirage, I thought, so I slowly walked towards it-- expecting
to be fooled again.
When I reached the mirage, I found a rose.
I touched it and found it was no dream.
Entranced by this rose, I placed it in the vase of my heart.
As it took root, it became a part of me.
My blindness lifted, for I could see the true Light.
Faith rested in my heart.
My desert rose led me to this destiny.
When I stray-- its paper thorns remind me to come back to
the straight path.
Each day it continues growing, it strengthens my heart and
my soul.
I water it with my prayers, my charity, my fasting.
This rose is here to stay--
It guides me to an eternal Garden.
My thoughts, my goals, my actions are preparing my place in
that Garden.
That is where I will rest my roots--
As long as this rose remains in my heart.

6. Reading Surah Yaseen exalts the status of the believers both in this world and the next.

Surah Yaseen is also known as “Raafi’ah Khaafidhah” i.e. that which exalts the status of the believers and degrades the unbelievers. According to a riwayat, Prophet Mohamed (Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said, “My heart desires that Surah Yaseen should be present in the heart of everyone of my ummah.” So memorize Surah Yaseen to reap its benefits.

7. Reading Surah Yaseen causes you to die as a shaheed.

According to one hadith, if anyone recites Surah Yaseen every night and then dies, they die as a shaheed (martyr).

8. Reading Surah Yaseen wipes out your sins, alleviates hunger and guides the lost.

“Whoever reads Surah Yaseen is forgiven; whoever reads it in hunger is satisfied; whoever reads it having lost their way, finds their way; whoever reads it on losing an animal, finds it. When one reads it apprehending that their food will run short, that food becomes suffient. If one reads it beside a person who is in the throes of death, these are made easy for them. If anyone reads it on a woman experiencing difficulty in child-birth, her delivery becomes easy. ”

9. Reading Surah Yaseen abolishes fear from your heart.

Maqri (Rahmatullah Alaihi) said, “If Surah Yaseen is read by one who fears the ruler or an enemy, one gets rid of this fear.”

10. Reading Surah Yaseen makes your dua’s to be answered.

According to one hadith, if somebody reads Surah Yaseen and Surah Was-Saaffaat on Friday and begs Allah something, their prayer is granted

11. Read Surah Yaseen in the night for all your sins to be forgiven.

The Prophet said, ‘Whoever recited Surah Yasin in the night seeking Allah’s pleasure, Allah would forgive him’[Ibn Hibban, Darimi 3283/A, Abu Yala, Tabarani, Baihaqi & Ibn Mardawaih]

What are some of the benefits of reading Surah Yaseen?

1. Reading Surah Yaseen at the beginning of the day causes Allah to fulfil all your needs for that day.

Hadhrat ‘Ataa’ bin Abi Ribaah (Radhiyallahu Anhu) says that Prophet Mohamed (Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam) is reported to have said, “ Whoever reads Surah Yaseen in the beginning of the day, all his needs for that day are fulfilled.”

2. Reading Surah Yaseen is equivalent to reading the whole Quran 10 times.

“Everything has a heart and the heart of the Glorious Quran is Surah Yaseen. Whoever reads Surah Yaseen, Allah records for them a reward equal to that of reading the whole Quran 10 times.” [Maqal, Tirmidhi 2812/A & Dhahabi]

3. Reading Surah Yaseen and memorizing Surah Yaseen invokes the blessings of Allah.

It is said that Allah recited Surah Yaseen and Surah Taha 1000 yeards before the creation of Heaven and Earth, and upon hearing this, the angels said, “Blessing is for the ummah unto whom the Quran will be sent down; blessing is for the hearts that will memorize it, and blessing is for the tongues that will recite it.”

4. Reading Surah Yaseen invokes the mercy of Allah to forgive your sins.

“Whoever reads Surah Yaseen for the pleasure of Allah only, all his earlier sins are forgiven. Therefore make a practice of reading this Surah over your dead.”

5. Reading Surah Yaseen benefits the reader in this life as well as in the Hereafter.

According to one hadith, Surah Yaseen is named in the Torah as “Mun’imah” i.e. Giver of Good Things. This is because it contains benefits of the reader both in this world and the next. It removes from them the afflictions of this worlds and the next. Surah Yaseen also takes away the dread of the next life. [Hashiya of Tafsir Jalalalayn , pg 368].

The Rewards and Benefits of Reading Surah Yaseen

It is commonly known that Surah Yaseen is the “heart” of the Quran. Why is it known as the heart of the Quran? In our bodies, the heart is considered to be the most important organ. It supplies the entire body with blood to keep us functioning. Without the heart, the body cannot live. It is to emphasize the great importance of Surah Yaseen that it is called the “heart” of the Quran.

Therefore, reading Surah Yaseen comes with many benefits which true believers must not miss out on. There are many ahadith which talk about the benefits of reading surah yaseen. In this hub, we shall take a look at several hadith which mention the benefits of reading surah yaseen.

I do not see much of their struggles reflect on current generation of Black Americans. Yet, they celebrate Dr. King annually. They also celebrate "Black History Month". None of these things reflect on average Black Americans.

Grand Jury declined to indict officer Darren Wilson, who shot dead unarmed Black teenager Michael Brown on August in Ferguson. Former New York City Mayor, Giuliani said,

“The danger to a black child in America is not a white police officer, The danger is another black. Ninety-three percent of the time they are going to be killed by another black.”

As truthful as his statement can be, i find it difficult to support his view for personal reason. I really dont need to say much. Many us know how those people behave. That is why they really need to fix themselves. But chances of that happening is 0.01%. Not much love for one another. Only in terms of crisis like this they seem to reconcile. However, between August and today about at least 4 African Americans have been shot dead for no apparent reason by White cops. Another one just happened last week.

When you said above you mean the entire dua process?. Preferably night time as many times as convenient for you. How do you think those psychics and palm readers are able to rent those places?
There have good patronage from the big 'intellectuals' at wall street...

How many buildings in wall street have a 13th floor?? ... why do you think they avoid a 13th floor? 13 stands for bad luck , they say... even though the so called 14th floor is just the 13th floor. These are intellectuals as well.

That is all 'spiritual mumbo-jumbo' by the intellectuals of the most powerful country in the world..

Now you can choose not to believe in this stuff, but do not come here with the 'it is an african thing' mentality.
This is nice summary for those fools. They think it's African thing.

Another personal experience:

This happened to my cousin.

She used to stay with us when we were all really young. At night, she gets into these weird conversations (about being some kind of queen or something, really weird stuff) when everyone is supposed to be sleeping. We all slept in the same room... My 3 siblings, my self and my cousin... I was between 9 and 14 years old (don't remember the exact year).. my cousin was much older than us.

One night, the conversation got heated and there was talk of killing my cousin, We all ran, turned on the lights, tried waking her up but she was not waking up. I asked my brother to recite the last three chapters of the Quran on her (That was about all we knew) and make dua, we ran to tell the parents. They thought we were overreacting.

After reciting and doing all we could, we went to sleep. I was relieved to see my cousin awake the next morning. Later, she told us of a dream, she had that night of a figure in white holding a sword coming to rescue her. She said she thought it was an angel.

I do not think she had those encounters again, at least not in our house. Funny enough, it wasn't so scary when we were kids but thinking of it now, just gives me the chills.

SubhanAllah
humm, was she cured through those places she went or her problems voluntarily go away?

I have seen the good works and really, Gbadesky knows his stuff when it comes to painting. I will like to use the German floor design soon. For the interlocking stones, its just the relative beauty of the individual stones that is the major attraction. Not only do you have variety in shapes and sizes with colours, but when combined, they create a visual attraction, and it could be arranged to produce a pattern in form of lines, letters or shapes. But I know they also have disadvantages.

One of the major disadvantages is the one you mentioned, change in colours, this might happen because of a number of reasons, especially the way they were made and the use. Another disadvantage is the possibility of weed growing in between the stones, but recent technology is also tackling this, I will show more pictures when we start laying these stones in this site.
But interlocking stones could be painted, too using paint quality like mufutau55, right?

And when you said 'recent technology is also tackling this,', do you mean black plastic spread out on the ground you used sometime ago for a client?.

@mufutau55, your house looks pretty neat grin . You don shop money from M. Bloomberg finish.
Christianity Etc › Re: 10 Wrong Application Of Christianiity by Empiree: 4:44am On Nov 23, 2014
Another horrible act is Christians denying God-given rights of man-> polygamy. Christians portray marrying more than one wife babaric and unlawful while themselves either married more than one wife and plenty concubines out there.

http://naijagists.com/dele-odule-yes-i-have-10-children-with-different-women-no-one-is-perfect/

Responding to Mr. Odule's comment on many children with different women, please let's get something straight. This is NOT about "skeleton in cupboards". This is about rights of man ordained by God Almighty. Islam make practical sense when it legislates for men to marry more than one woman. Conditions to marry one woman only lie on financial capability and justice among them. This is Crystal clear.

Since Mr. Odule is a christian man and his Bible tells him "me and my wife till death do us apart", he must follow that. This is not about mocking Christianity, rather fact must be presented.

Also, I have to be objective to Mr. Odule's statement that 'he who have not sinned should throw stone'. Having more than one wife and many children are gifts from Allah Almighty. It's not sin. It's only sinful if he only impregnated and have children with those women without legal contract outlined in his religion i:e marriage. Hence, he committed adultery.

Will Christians now open your eyes and see clearly that something is wrong with "one man and woman" is legal and polygamy is unlawful according to them?. Many reports recently by Naijagists about christian men coming out frustrated with not being sexually satisfied with one partner, including Juju music legend, Sunni Ade.

You now need to question yourself who wrote the statement in the Bible "one man and woman". This is against nature of man. Do you know better than God?. It seems to me that Oyinbo put that statement in the Bible NOT Jesus peace be upon him).

Finally, thank you NaijaGists for reporting stuff like this. I would have never thought Odule, King Sunni Ade,Jibola Dabo etc who are Christians have more than one wife, concubines or even other Monikers. STOP DECEIVING YOURSELVES
