I lost a friend in the 90s because of this teaching about sickness. his parents refused to take him to the hospital and he died at home. God will judge some people. how can a church play with someone emotions and life all the name of saying "God said this God said that ". the damages caused in the lost of so. many lives who will pay for it? the lost of appointments which some members of the church lost as a result of not watching TV to hear the nta 9'o news who will pay for them?

Thing is, the number of students at universities has gone up since your time, we are not earning enough from oil, it costs 600000 per annum to train one Nigerian student... and oil is falling.

I paid 2000 as fees, 90 as accommodation fees. The accomodation was bad, the hostels were slums, and there was no cash to buy new books for the libraries, new facilities for the labs. We used equipment that our parents used for crying out loud.

Increase fees, or poor students will suffer half baked degrees. While the rich port abroad, or to one of the better private unis.

now that the fees are high are the facilities better? yet our government wants to diversify but they don't know how to bring the best our of the higher institution. do you know that if all the higher institutions in the country are productive, the school fees will be next to nothing? do you know that there will be more money for research? tell me what is benue state university doing with there large land? look at UI zoo in those days. what happened to the zoo? I was ashamed when I wasted my fuel to take my kids to ui zoo during the festival period. isn't that zoo a tourist site? our people are either lazy to tap from our vast resources or they are wicked to build for the future

what are you saying? when I gained admission into OAU in 1998 we were paying #90 for school fees and #130 for accommodation. in university or higher institution they are made to generate income too for them selves and that's why some school have bakery, farms, TV and radio station. the questions you ought to ask is cant these schools collaborate with their science and engineering dept to produce something that can give then income higher than what the federal government gives?
before I graduated there was this science center in Ife where the school intend to use our shit in the school to generate electric light for the school and the near by village. if the school had done that by now they would have covered the whole of ile Ife and it's environs and that would have been a massive income for the school while the school fees will be cheap then the students encouraged to work for or in the school. instead of the school paying high salaries. that would have been a win win situation

The charismatic movement was not there long before pentecostal movement. The charismatic movement started when 2 American prof when to a prayer meeting( 1966) and got babtized in holy spirit and went back to their chapel and started laying hands(1967) and the movement started to spread while pentecostal movement grew out of holiness revival in the 2nd half of 19th century and became an outbreak in 1901. why we don't eat meat on ash Wednesday and Fridays of lent is because the church is practicing ABSTINENCE. Abstinence is to make do without what you love during most during this period. here in Africa every home can't do without eating of meat in their meals so the church decided we punish our body by abstaining from meat to support our fasting.
individually, we are also advised to leave some of the things we can't do without such as football, makeup, TV and so. these are to make you know that those meat, football, makeup and things you let go are things some people wish they have. so share in their pains. so wish they watch football but they are either sick or in prison or have no access to it. same too with other things we abstain from.
Remember lent is the time of fasting, prayer, abstaining and sharing
