My dear just go and pay ur duty. That's d only sure way. The day this guy's catch me that was on March this year nd I was able to bail d car out by July. They generated 536k for me to pay as a duty which I did before they released my car despite d fact dat my uncle wz a controller. I will advise u go to customs office (at Lagos or ph coz that d only two places u can pay duty) with ur vehicle purchase documents. U will need an agency dat will clear the goods. Just know dat any office u enter u must drop something. But wit my uncle's influence I didn't drop any thing nd I wz given urgent attention. Wen u get there they will explain to u better but just tell them u just bought from car nd u want to pay duty...they will tell u d procedures. But if ur car is up to 2years on d road u need not bother about customs duty. Thanks

I was driving to Owerri and on the road I saw over 12 already registered vehicles impounded by the custom officials who have a check point there.

Can someone experienced tell me what to do if your car has no valid custom papers,

Can the custom papers be gotten?

Is there a legislation that protects innocent car owners who do not know they were given fake custom papers.

Is there a fine to redeem impounded vehicles

or will a car be forfeited once it is impounded by customs officials for not having custom papers.
