I'm sure the company would like to be more concerned about your first degree and in what area it is. With a masters in architecture, I don't really don't know how your dice may fall. Again, you should take this as the final word. But from my own experience, I haven't seen any colleague here or with competition who has a masters in architecture. In fact, a Bachelors is always almost sufficient to work with in the upstream industry. Having said that, I'm sure there's nothing connection can't do for a graduate in any field.

To start with oil and gas is very vast. From exploration to design to construction and Fabrication to Drilling to commissioning to startup to the actual production then exportation, logistics and even training. You will agree with me that the industry cut across all fields. The individual will have to determine where he or she wants to belong. Where you want to belong will then determine the type of certification you need. The certification a production person needs is not the same certification a dynamic positioner needs. The certification an Instruments guy needs is not the same certification the Electrical guy needs. So, you will agree with me that you will have to determine where you can function first before deciding on the certification you need. Money should not be the driving force, oil and gas environment is a high risk environment, no room for second chance. You must be sure of what you are doing. Your action can lead to an avoidable catastrope. Just my opinion

Sir, what of an Msc Architectural graduate? What kind of certification will suit him best?

@babaearly....It is more of experience my dear....and international certifications...if u are determined to be there u will have to pray to god to assist you...then can start from where u are....i for one as a graduate applied to an international oil servicing firm to work without being paid all to get experience in the job...i worked for good six months with they just giving me 10k for transport per month...i paid that price n guess what after 6months i was retained as a contract staff....n guess what after 6 months again i go another job with an international offshore servising firm as a staff.....determination is the key my dear.....taking actions no matter how minute they may seem towards your desire creat miracles....as for me in a space of one year i go a job/position that other guys who have been working for quite some time dont have... Its all determination.

Goodday sir. What chance does an Msc Architectural graduate have in the oil sector? I know Diezani was an Architect and worked in NNPC before becoming minister but am curious. Which job description suits the architect in the oil industry if your answer is yes?

As an Msc degree holder in Architecture, can i expand my scope and become a chattered accountant, if yes? How and what is necessary to be done?

I served in Trans Amadi, Port Harcourt....I went to camp 3times as NYSC camp official setting up OBS studio and recruiting OBS members....passed out last year november but settled in PH.....plss, if u don't want to be posted to Nonwa, Gbam, Tai LG where the Orientation camp is located, there are some groups u shouldn't join in camp....like Band, Socials, Football team n so on....I can help U, all u need is genuine info : inbox me or add me: 23a1309f. Mind U, OBS is d best group to join in camp coz they av slot for posting.

Rivers State is Ok. But make sure you are not posted to the city for PPA. Cos if they do, is like shooting urself in the leg. If you go to the rural areas like ETCHE Local Govt.... You will enjoy and probably save some # to start a small biz as getting a white collar job is nt that guaranteed these days. All the best.

Not compulsory if you are doing masters outside nigeria.

In Nigeria too. My department is permitted by my school to offer Masters programme before NYSC. Others got to comply.

The Architect is the head of the building team. He receives the highest pay as he is involved from the brief conception till the commissioning of the building. He can also serve as the Project manager and in various cases as the representative of the client.

The Architect clearly has the highest pay. Ever asked yourself why the name of the architect pops up when fantastic buildings in the world are mentioned instead of the engineers?

I would've started applying for jobs too during nysc but I was serving in kebbi and I cant risk travelling the bad roads every now and then coming down to write tests. So just like u I got enough gmat and shl materials off naira land and was practicing before POP.

When I saw ur post that u've entered training school, I had to put in more efforts in my job hunting since I know u from the batch B'14 thread. And thanks to God it was all worth it. So my friend u also spurred me on too

God bless Pope Franciscus. Humility in the face of plenty. The Catholic Church is the wealthiest Church in the world yet their leader lives a humble life in the midst of that plenty.

Some people might be defending the pentecostal pastors but we know the truth. You say pastors visits many countries in a year? What of the pope that visits multiple in a year?

The point is that we have to live within our means. $2m a year for private jets is a whole lot if money that can put the gospel into reality. How? By establishing schools for the poor, feeding the poor, establishing senior citizens home, home for the lepers, school for the deaf and dumb and the blind too.
My God! This money will go a long away alleviating peoples suffering. Only the Catholic Church does 60% of this in the world. The government does 20% while Non Govt organizations shares the remaining 20% with some good protestant churches.

Let truth be told. The Protestants have to step up their humanitarian game, do away with the lavish lifestyles of pastors and put the gospel not just into the heart and ears of believers but into reality.

Dont quote to insult me please. Am not in the mood and besides today is Sunday. I only said my mind which i think is the current reality.

Unizik deserves its place there.. I started my Msc studies in February, 2014 and i graduated 9th September, 2015. So, who says its not fast?

For those of you complaining about Unizik,, its Either you are delaying yourself or you are letting your dept delay you. Unizik is generally fast.

I think its a technical issue. So far we have our call up number and green slips, i believe we are good to go.
