badbreathcure101:You must be delusional if you think there aren’t millions of structural drawings and calculation sheets on google and lots of extensive tutorials by all these Indian boys on YouTube. And I find it laughable when you say Architecture is dead, I sure you are only trying to be funny or to sound woke. We all know it’s a lie . Architecture in the US, Canada, EU and Australia remains one of the best paid jobs. You should do enough to google it. Then, In as much as I’m inclined to state that you are peddling falsehood, I must state that there is nothing to be proud of in being a quack. A lot of non Engineers in the construction industry knows a lot and designs structural drawings but that doesn’t make them professionals. A whole lot! Plenty! Go to lagos and see a whole bunch of them. They are all quacks.! They do these designs, look for a hungry lazy engineer, pay him 5-10K and gets him to stamp it for them. Stop being proud of mediocrity, if you are a professional, you should be chanting against quackery and not being one yourself. |
badbreathcure101:It’s a big lie on your part too to assume that a civil engineer can do architectural designs. You think I’m talking about 2 bedroom bungalow here? Aren’t you agreeing with me when I say that both are not professionals when it comes to the field of the others? Can a Civil engineer design a massive architectural design? An airport? A stadium? An Opera? And other massive masterpieces? Dare a civil engineer to come up with a buildable masterpiece. Isn’t it a disaster waiting to happen? The law won’t even allow it just as the law won’t allow the architect undertake a structural design. You talk about ridiculous cantilevers? Why are you scared of challenges? I have a lot of big time Nigerian Civil engineers most of them based abroad who love and live challenges. They have the biggest paid for-softwares costing millions and are ready to take on challenges like their counterparts in developed countries. You only need to improve yourself. You don’t sit in your living room, do an architectural plan of a non functional 1 bedroom bungalow and assume that you have arrived. And yes, the Architect can do structural drawing for little structures but that doesn’t make him a professional same a civil engineer that can designs 2 bedroom bungalow. |
Oggolden001:A civil engineer can only produce the structural drawings of an architectural design made by the architect. The two professions goes hand in hand. There are many fields in engineering however that doesn’t involve the architect at all. Also, there are many fields in Architecture that doesn’t involve the structural engineer at all. However, when they both meet, the Civil engineer works only with the design of the architect. Do not listen to people who will tell you that the Civil engineer can do the Architects works or that the Architect can do the Civil engineer works. They are misleading you. It’s a blatant falsehood that will lend you in trouble in an organized society. Pick the course that suits your skills and your knowledge of subjects. You have had amazing advices above. Listen to them and leave the ones encouraging Quackery. I like to advice people to do things legally. |
brandsoncharlie:Bros, you need to chilll. Architecture is on a league of its own. Same with Civil Engjneering. You are the one comparing. Secondly, stop quoting all these stuffs you are quoting, they are all nonsenses! The softwares you mentioned are needed for the structural engineer to do his structural drawings and designs and not to engage in Architectural drawings and designs. After all, Architects are taught basics of structural drawings, some even go ahead to learn Some structural softwares. Does that make them professionals? NO. Stop spewing ignorance. It’s not healthy sir. Thirdly, there is only a body in Nigeria mandated by Law to license Engineers and that body is COREN. ABET mandating you to learn softwares is for you to master your profession and not to practice architecture. If you do otherwise, you are a Quack and will be prosecuted if found wanting. Stop arguing with emotion. |
witworth:In a ‘better country’. The two are not same. They are completely different with different career paths. Haba na. Architecture is a very old prestigious discipline Civil Engineering is another prestigious discipline itself. They are not same. They work together but are definitely not same and especially in working ‘better’ countries. |
flyinnizam:2017 I used the NIMC app around March this year to create a profile and link my sims. I’m now dumbfounded to see this nonsense this evening. Lol |
DEADALIVE:That is a Company. When it comes to Projects, companies becomes single entities. A Construction company can be owned by anybody, it can be owned by an architect, a civil engineer or even a non professional. But then when a project commences, they become an entity answerable to a Client who pays them. The client can be an individual, government or an entity like a company too. Now, a client is only mandated to pay a contractor when a Payment certificate is issued and the Payment certificate can only be issued when the AI (Architects Instruction) is certified by the Architect to have been carried out by the Contractor. It is standard and legal construction procedure. Like I said, it’s a TEAM WORK. I don’t like to see people comparing and downplaying the other professions. Everyone is important to the goal. |
brandsoncharlie:Read my point again, I said we should stop encouraging quackery. A civil engineer that undertakes architecture designs is a quack! He is not qualified to do so. Same goes to the architect that does a structural drawing! The both can have a little idea of the other’s works but they lack the proper knowledge. That’s what I’m saying. |
DEADALIVE:First of all, I’m forced to say that you are wrong, the CLIENT is in charge of paying everyone and not the Contractor. Infact the contractor depends on the Payment Certificate as issued by the Architect on a project to get his payment from the Client. However, my analogy is only in reference to the example which he gave and which is a fallacy. The Architects works before the Civil Engineer comes in all projects. However in small scale projects like duplexes, etc whic does not involve tender boards, etc, you must agree with me that the Architect is always the only member of the construction industry that is commissioned by the client. The architect in turn then employs a civil engineer to do the structures of his designs and pays him off. That is the analogy I was giving to negate his claim that it is the civil engineer who employs the architect. In that vein, I still insist that he was misleading young people. However, I agree with you when you say that architects can not achieve his objectives without the inputs of others. But then same can be said of the others like the civil engineers. They will have nothing to work with without the Architects. It’s A TEAM WORK |
Miscellaneous:You mean a civil engineer can undertake a vast architectural design of a complex project? Like a stadium? Conference centers? Stop this joke bro. It’s expensive and misleading to the younger generation. Someone in the construction industry shouldn’t be found saying this. |
brandsoncharlie:That is quackery. Stop encouraging quackery. But then in Nigeria, everyone can do everything tho. An architect in many instances with the use of some structural softwares and little coaching can do the structural drawing for his designs. So, that cancels your idea about a civil Engr doing an architects work. Everyone can do everything but that is QUACKERY AND ILLEGAL! |
Ahmerdibnz:Stop this bro. You are misleading the boy. It’s a blatant lie! It’s basically the other way round in a typical Construction setting. The Architect does his designs, then employs the service of the structural engineer for the structure and pays him off. It’s better to just advice the boy based on true facts and not your imaginations. |
Saint99:In the nearest future when the law is taken seriously, that is quackery and will land the so called ‘anyone’ in jail. |
It keeps telling me ‘User ID does not exist’ But then I have my NIN and I used the NIMC app to register my phone lines. Why then is it telling me ‘User ID does not exist’? even after requesting for pin? Nawa ooo |
JeffreyJunior:Dude looks like Ugwuanyi... chai ![]() |
Karlirk:Not to offend you but your point makes me think you didnt read everything. You probably stopped at the first chapter of her very long write up. She never said she wasn’t inclined to helping upcoming people. As a matter of fact, she said she might have her reservations as a human but that she has never withheld her support when needed. Her anger stems from the fact that 2 people whom she lent her support betrayed her and vilified her image. That according to her has led her into regretting having them around in her life. Of course, every human being would feel quite same. Her article is meant to clear the air and prevent falsehood about her from becoming true in the minds of some people. She has an image to protect and she is doing just that. I see nothing wrong in my opinion. |

Why not Thursday and Friday? E get why. Someone would now rest Wednesday and Thursday, then suddenly go to work on Friday only to go back for the weekend. You can’t even travel. Mtcheeew |
YoungLionken:It’s a Simple question and a simple answer. Who declared War? Shikena. Stop beating around the bush and sugar coating it. I’m not asking you for reasons that led to the civil war. I’m only asking ‘Who declared the war’ and History tells us that it was Gowon and his SMC that declared War. Thank you |
EndBuhariNow:Oga, those of us who have been there are telling you the reality of things. You are sitting behind your desk somewhere far away typing in stuffs and getting fed by google map. Airport to Onitsha is not more than 25 mins. If you don’t believe us, leave your desk and take a drive yourself. In your mind now, you are smart. Stay humble and admit corrections when one is made to you. |
YoungLionken:You are running away from the fact. Who declared war? It’s a simple question. Nigeria did. Secession is not war. Nigeria might as well just let Biafra seceded peacefully but they declared a war. That’s my point. |
Those who are against the siting of the Airport in Umueri are either Pained it’s not in their village (selfish interest) or are Ignorant on issue of Feasiblity studies for such projects. Now listen, If you site the Airport in Onitsha, it becomes far from the populace in Awka. If you build it in Awka, it becomes Useless and far from the populace in Onitsha. Now, don’t you think the Government was smart enough to build it in a centrally located place such as Umueri which is just approx. 20 and 25 mins away from Onitsha and Awka respectively? Don’t condemn things because it doesn’t suit your agenda. The well-being of everybody is paramount and more important than a single persons selfish agenda. And for those saying there is nothing in Umueri to warrant the airport being built there, Shege to all of una. Should the Government keep pumping all her developments in selected few places instead of diversifying? Anambra is looking to become a City State and not a State with one or two cities. Hide your pains and selfishness and stop displaying it here on Nairaland. Ndi uchu! |
EndBuhariNow:Oga, I find it better to ask questions when one is not in the know. Onitsha to Umueri is approx 25mins. Same as from Awka. Tha Airport is centrally located. |
YoungLionken:Ojukwu didn’t start the civil war. Read your history books and stop misinforming the public. Gowon declared war on the break away Biafra Republic. The first gun shot of the war was fired by the Nigerian Forces. Having Said that, War is Bad but we don’t need to twist History to make our points. Thank you. |
The stuffs they are holding might be fake anyway but they are obviously security operatives. How did I know? Look at how they both held their fire arms. Position of the finger around the trigger guard tells you what you need to know about a trained security operative. ![]() |
Why is Chinwe Owoh not in the list? It’s not a complete list ooo. Lol But truly speaking, I always cry along with Nkiru Sylvannus whenever she is crying. Chai. And Nollywood always knows how to add some sorrowful music track to make you breakdown while watching the trio of Nkiru, Hilda and Chinwe Owoh |
Try it in Nigeria. And Firstly, your Pub would be closed or an accidental fire incident will erupt the next week burning your pub Secondly, the DSS will invite you Thirdly, The whole country will be divided in support according to your region. If you are a southerner, the south will support you and the north will oppose you, Vice verse. |
Bro, you’ve answered the question yourself. Cameroon doesn’t recognise Dual Nationality. Nigeria does. You want to go to America, a country that recognises dual Nationality which means that with a Nigerian Passport and fulfilling all obligations, you can also become an American Citizen while still a Nigerian Citizen. Cameroonian passport wouldn’t let you become American. Forget all the nonsenses you hear. In the comity of Nations, Nigerians as a people and not as a government are known more for their achievements rather than their short fallings. You can tap into that. Corruption wise, Nigeria and Cameroon are basically same. Both countries are fantastically corrupt according to corruption indexes. So? |
William Obiano - 6/10 |
Chucks234:He was born a Greek Royal. The facts are there. |
gnykelly:Are you his accountant? Smh |
adolfHitler1934:Gbam! You just said the plain truth. Non Omambala people and their hate for Obiano. Why exactly are they pained? I don’t know. It’s no longer about his performance but about him drinking. People sef. |

Oba airport with it geographical location to nnewi and onitsha seaport would've been a moneybag to ndi Anambra generally , it would've drive massive development that will rival Lagos and others. Major sole reason of this airport is to cut short the stress our businessmen/women mostly from nnewi and onitsha passes through to access their various business destinations.. I honestly see no economic value of this place where it situated, at time we allow sentiments to be cloud of thinking faculty during decision making... he should've built it in Aguleri since he want airport to ferry him from his village to Abuja... once again I said congregations to Ndi Anambra... maybe ur Google map and mine are different
