It is incredible that some of the questions are repeated. To think that these questions are heavy weighted.
I heard that this us not the case for IELTS. No repetition. |

Debsify: But some people work hard and are still not successful..besides from what I understand about St. Joseph's prayer it's not a miracle prayer per say, but prayer for good luck and the questions to be where your strength lies in the exam so you can easily pass Work hard and smart. If you work hard and are still tensed or careless you will not pass. People saying God are only making a mockery. Does God neglect others and help some? On what basis? Your environment conditions you that way. Working hard also means getting right advice and right tips so you do not go round in circles or spend more time than necessary. All the best. |

Hotzone: I always respond to my fiancée financial demands even when most of them seems like extortion. She prefer I pay her bills both rent and utility though I try to wriggle my self out in rare occasions.
Condition of marriage: No sex before marriage, I abide completely because I want her. She attends her friends weekend activity than finding time for us to stay close even when she constantly reports about how her female friends accuse her of lesbianism but I pray she’s not.
She works and her wages and daily earnings is a little bit above mine. I have told her my marriage intention and she openly accepted without the usual marriage proposals but I am thinking to make it official.
I am still considering if she is suitable and can make a useful wife because I am about to make an official statement which is going to change my entire course in life.
Please, my fellow Nairalanders, I need constructive and supportive words. Blissful week to you! Like a fool, being led to the slaughterhouse with his eyes open. |

Tips for the Comprehension Ecrite
-Do not waste time doing a first and a second reading. -Rather, do one ‘slow’ and ‘concentrated’ reading. -Read the question. -A proof of having done a good read is the ease with which you can locate the paragraph that holds the response to the question you have just read. -You will not have to do a second read this way.
Attempt in order if possible: - Question 1 – 10 (6 minutes max) - Question 11-13 (3 minutes max) - Questions 41 – 50 (8 minutes) - Question 14 – 19 (3 question each, 8 minutes) - Questions 20 – 27 (4 question each, 12 minutes) - Question 28 – 40 (toughest questions, remaining time)
If you work hard on the 85 texts, you can finish before time. |

etrange: A couple of people have also complained they can't access the group. I did connect yesterday. So it is a wassap group created by the same guys at "comment se preparer au TEF" facebook group. I used Chrome and then connected using the barcode. You need to activate wassup on your phone first. I do not know if that was where they had issues. When I tried scanning the bar code using Firefox, it did not work. The good thing with the group is that they dissect the questions. Today for example I am working on the CE questions for Juillet 2017. Someone has just posted response to the 50 questions on FB. Happy days for me. I will answer on my own and then crosscheck. Try again using chrome. I connected last night. |

etrange: I'd suggest you chat more in French especially with more advanced persons who can easily employ certain level of linguistic variations (i.e. multiple ways of saying the same thing). If you like novels like myself, pick up one and read at your leisure time. Read French articles online and try to use any new word or expression learned (that's the only way to retain). It may seem as if the progress is slow or as if you're forgetting the new words almost as fast as you're learning them but the truth is, you'd remember the meaning of the words when you see them in the context other surrounding words and that might just be what you need to get what a sentence is all about. In the exam, the passages get tougher as you proceed (this largely depends on your level). Solve the simpler ones first, then ensure you, at least, get the overall message of the ones you find extremely tough. Sometimes, that's sufficient to answer the questions. In the case that you still don't know the answer to a question, apply the elimination method and move on.
Most importantly, read past questions. Asides the fact that they're repeated, they also get you accustomed to the nature of the exam. Thanks for the tips. From your experience, did you see questions repeated? CO or CE? |

etrange: For those interested, we can still do our once a week essay proofreading like before. If time permits, Skype conversations during the weekends would also be great. It mustn't necessarily be with me this time, just find a partner or a group, agree on time and meet online at the agreed time. Discuss social, cultural, academic, business, religious, political, and other issues around us. And of course, practice some TEF questions.
Like I say to those who contacted me privately, Go fully French using brute force. Chat more in French, make friends with French speaking peeps, join groups from francophone countries online, watch French programs on TV and subscribe to French channels on YouTube. You can change your device language to French and listen more to French music (Celine Dion is awesome, lol). Then get virtual immersion apps like Hello app. This will surround you with francophones who can hardly speak English.
The whole idea is to turn French. Remember, regardless of the outcome of TEF, the knowledge of French is still an invaluable skill. So it's always a win win situation.
Good morning all and bon courage. Thanks for the help. Any tips for improving reading skills? |
