Maximus17:That is not the reason. Nigerians are looking for white-collar jobs, that is why many don't want to venture into agriculture. Many of these white-collars jobs don't even pay as well as commercial agriculture. Farmers are looked at as dirty or poor people. Not just farmers, carpenters, mechanics and the likes They want to become pilots, doctors, lawyers, bankers, architects and the likes. How much is a bag of rice today? Imagine if you had a rice farm and how many billions you would be making from it? Instead of going for a white-collars job of N40,000/month. Moreover I don't know of any empowerment program or school in Nigeria that teaches people how to farm... for those who are interested in venturing into commercial agriculture. I called HABDEC school of commerical agriculture the other day, but they kept saying "hello, hello, hello". I sent whatsapp messge to them, but they didn't reply. I called again assuming it was network problem, but they kept me quiet |
As some will say it "Nigeria don cast". Imagine if a white man walked up to you or CNN were to interview you to ask you what was wrong with the country. If you were to say "a few years ago bag of rice was N8,000 but it is now N50,000" it will make it harder for the foreigner to believe you because you didn't give proper account of anything. So what exactly is wrong with Nigeria you might ask? - There is no NEPA light - Poor economic policies (daily withdrawal limit policy of 2022) - Poor management of resources (crude oil to be exact) - There are no white collar jobs - No good roads: How many good roads do we have in Nigeria? Nigerians use cars the same way they would use canoes & boats because of this - Poor health sector (Nigerians travel abroad for operation) - Persistent currency devaluation - Inflation and high cost of living - Election rigging and vote buying - White people rarely migrate to Nigeria: Nigerians are migrating to Europe & North America everyday - Fire fighters and 911 aren't working effectively in Nigeria - Nigeria likes to import but doesn't manufacture anything - There is little or no access to government loans for businesses (only salary earners can apply for loans) - There are no government agencies or schools that empowers youths with vocational skills such as farming, plumbing or welding - Poor educational sector: Nigerians like to travel to Canada to further their education - Falied policing and judicial system: They took Nigerian Hushpuppi to USA before they could sentence and jail him. Use of fingerprints at a crime scene still has a long way to go in Nigeria - There are no street CCTV cameras in Nigeria - Nigerians always wait for somebody to die first before putting things in place to protect others next time: Pedestrians sometimes get crushed to death because no proper protection was put in place on an ever busy road (such as zebra crossing, speedbreakers and bridges) - Nigeria has a failed public transport system - According to the world rank, Nigeria doesn't rank well on the list countries that have high standards of living - Nigeria doesn't rank well on the list of most corrupt countries in the world |
When God wanted to punish the Egyptians, he first hardened pharoah's heart. I don't talk about God much but I just wanted to bring out a point there. This will make people want to vote for Peter Obi more, so he can remove this dirty policy. Imagine placing a withdrawal policy of $25/day on 200 million people? So the stupid banks can use our money to trade behind our backs abi? I will advice them to add one more zero to it if they want this dirty policy to work. N200,000/day and N1,000,000/week. Don't they have families? Don't they know that naira is now like paper and that it's value is next to nothing? How much is shirt in market? 8K-15K. How much is a bag of rice? 50K. In benin city bus is now N100 any where you stop. If you hold N500 before you know it's gone. Buy egg roll N200 and one fanta N250 and the money is gone; you can't even use the N50 to enter bus anywhere |
LaSenior:I don't know you or your wife to be from anywhere but she is right; give her the money. Although maybe the way she asked you is abit harsh or something but she is right anyway. You will not like it if she leaves you and goes after another man because of the money. What is N50,000? Chicken change which isn't even up to $100 in black market and money is for Xmas for that matter |
The mysterious sickness you are suffering from is Epstein Barr Virus. When it starts newly you will think it is HIV because it has some symptoms that HIV has such as mononucleosis. And you will see white things growing inside your mouth (as white as snow). Then you will also suffer from enlarged liver or spleen which is the abdominal pain you talked about |
Anytime you are broke, over 90% of the time there will not always be somebody you can run to for help. But when you have small thing on you, rat, cockroach, millipede and even squirrel will come out from nowhere and want to borrow N5,000 or N10,000. If you say you should play Bet9ja, the small one you have they will collect it. You will NEVER win whether you forecast your games or not. Even if you think you do, it will come when you don't need it after several weeks... and how much have you lost since then? How did you now win? If you say you should do bricklayer work or service work they will say they will call you but you will wait for several months and they will NEVER call you. There is too much politics in that bricklayer work and they only give their brothers the work. If you say you should go and kidnap somebody or rob, they will burn you. If you say you should do internet scam, you are wasting your time. Because of youtube channels like Pleasant green and Cat fished, internet scam doesn't pay anyone anymore. And Nigeria is not like Europe where you have underground jobs like care for the elderly in hospitals or mail man jobs where they will pay you up to €20 in one day. If you say you should start a fundraiser online to ask for money on the internet, they have blocked Nigerians from starting fundraisers. The websites that accept Nigeria will say you need 3 supporters before you can start receiving funding for your donation. If you now say you should email all the charity foundations you know, that they should donate to your fundraiser so you can have the 3 supporters, the charity foundations won't reply your email and won't support your fundraiser either. So tomorrow imagine you have like $500 or N225,000 in your pocket and one beggar from nowhere is standing at the window of the commercial bus you entered to beg for money for God knows what, do you think such a person will give the beggar the money? The answer is no and he will pretend not to have, that times are hard. This is exactly what happens to people in cycles over and over and makes most of them that have money to be hard more and refuse to help those around them. And that is why Hushpuppi didn't help people around him because his sister died because there was no money to treat her and he suffered alot and Nigeria was not there for him so he only used to flash his wealth on instagram but wouldn't help anyone. So this is what makes begging a scam and not adulthood itself. It is Nigeria that is a scam and not adulthood itself. Adulthood is supposed to be a blessing and not a scam |

icankel:The world cup is very easy to read because almost the same set of teams always qualify for the groupstages from their continent and the round of 16 and so on. These things are based on statistics. If this 2022 world cup is not won by a european country, it will be won by Brazil or Argentina |
I decided to get a drug that can help me abstain from sex because I have this personal conviction that excessive sex (for men) contributes to erectile dysfunction and low sperm count. The drug I am using is a mood stabilizer |
And yes, masturbation counts too... what is the highest number of days you have stayed without having sex? And in 2022 what is the highest number of days you have stayed without sex? Thanks to the current medication I am using right now, I have been able to abstain from sex for 27 days now and still counting |
I've read alot of deceptive comments on the internet, how some landlords are so sweet and so nice and actually help to make their tenants progress or/and are a blessing to their tenants. Let me first start by saying that the house I was staying in before there was no landlord or caretaker. In that house we didn't have roaster for sweeping or clearing grass. In fact nobody does the weeding or sweeping. In that house I didn't have problems with any of the tenants and I never quarelled or fought with with any of the tenants even for one day... moreover most of us were students. I was leaving there because the rented house was close to National Open University while my family house was far from the school. One of the tenants is still my friend to this day and we are very close on Whatsapp... he also went to National Open University but he was in a different level, faculty and department in the school. He parked from the house after he graduated from the school. I read somewhere on nairaland were somebody wrote something like "I will never move into a house, if the landlord also leaves in". I also parked out from the house because I am in final year in second semester. So I moved into a house on september 2, 2022, after paying for 6 months rent in advance. I knew that the landlord was leaving on the compound but because of the population explosion of 200 million in Nigeria, I had to settle for the house. I didn't see accommodation after going round and round for 1 week. The only houses I saw were 3 bedroom flats and the likes, which nobody would likely take because of the cost. I started feeling sorry for the man in my mind and started asking myself if I am paranoid or something by saying I don't want to leave in the same house with the landlord. Moreover the deceptive comments I saw on the internet about leaving with a landlord didn't help matters. This man allowed me to leave in the house peaceably for 1 month plus before he started worrying his head (worrying his head and not me). The first day I came the way I played music with my bluetooth radio, I taught he was going to talk to me in the morning but nothing. Then after 1 month, he told me "what were you doing in night?" and I told him I was watching videos on Youtube and Tiktok... those videos made me LOL. I was watching MC Edo Pikin's videos and some other videos. I also used my standing fan to dry my clothes which I washed so that one also contributed. Apologized to him and he left. This evil wicked man, you can't talk to him without first adding sir. When you greet him in the morning, you must add sir... and when talking to him, you must continue with the same (continue to add sir) after every sentence you make when talking to him. After that, there was a day he lied against me that I always banging the door when closing it. I told him that in our family house we use iron doors. And that the door is old that is why it is making noise... that I am not the one banging it. Then when we held meeting, he insulted me when I asked which portion of the house they had shared for sweeping which was a logical question because I was a newcomer in their house. He went so far to recount all the experiences I have mentioned above and said that if my bonce (or puff puff) should fall inside bathroom whether I will pick it up and eat. Normally that statement he made should have caused serious quarell but I said nothing. The night before I parked out, he stopt me at the door to ask me if "day never dark when I commot?"... that look at the time I am coming back. My head just sparked because this man had collected money for NEPA bill (prepaid meter) since on saturday from me but chose to keep us in darkness till thursday night when they brought light. I shouted back at him that he is embarrassing me ontop of my rent, that I have had enough of the whole thing. That what exactly does he want from me? And the borehole water had finished, so I bought 1 bag of purewater that night to have my bathe in the morning. Funny enough after I shouted on the man, NEPA brought light that night. That means maybe he was keeping us in darkness out of wickedness (with the pretence of forgetting to remember to buy the prepaid meter). Because before this incident, since on saturday... all our neighbors would have NEPA light while we would be always be in darkness. In the morning of it, I woke up by 2am to brush my teeth and have my bathe. You see I am a transporter, so I always leave home by 6am in search of passengers. So he confronted me by 2am that why am I awake. I told him I woke up to prepare myself so I would leave home early. When he saw me in the morning, he asked me if I want to go and carry dead body or if I have woman that is waiting for me that I am saying I want to leave home. That didn't I say I wanted to leave home by 5am, that why was I still at home by 6am? I must confess I went to work late that day by 6:26am but that wasn't enough excuse for him to insult me this way. He didn't stop there, he demanded for my parents numbers and told lies to them about me. I sent the phone number of some of the tenants to my parents for them to here their own side of the story. This wicked evil man wanted to cause problems between me and my family. My mother said something like "I have gone to cause problem, that I think this one is my father's house". I told her that I have been leaving peaceably with all the tenants, that it is our landlord that is the one who is after me when I have done no wrong to him. I recorded the phone call I made with some of the tenants that night and gave to my family as evidence. So fellow nairalanders, the next time you are thinking of moving into a house, if you see the landlord leaves there you better think twice |
Please what does Tinubu or APC have to do with what you wrote? You wrote two things: about the new job you just got somewhere and about Tinubu. Please don't be angry but if you want to ask for financial assistance, please do so without beating around the bush |
I know very few people will likely read this comment because it's down down down here, with so many up there. That 20 year old boy/man na bad guy sha. To get that girl, to do that kind of thing is not that easy. And he has nothing doing (no job)... I wonder how he was able to convince her? I was thinking he used money to confuse her but he has nothing doing. It makes me doubt the authenticity of this story |
Tamara676:True talk. They said it happened in a bet9ja shop in oluku in benin city. Please somebody should help confirm if the location is correct. In these days of cashout, who will wait for his ticket to reach 38 million? We should always try to think with the right side of our brain (use our intuition). This thing looks prearranged by bet9ja to make people to bet more and lose. It's either that or the guy has also discovered the sharing formula. That is he was able to place many bets with different games in different tickets. And I doubt it because he would have placed the bet with N150 and not N800 because his tickets would be many because of the formula |
I am sorry to say but did anybody notice that Peter Obi and his vice look like twin brothers or clones? |
fman:That's not what my father told me. My father told me that we use "sir" for our seniors (anybody that is older than you) as a form of respect. I asked him alot of questions and gave alot of examples regarding this issue, which he was not able to provide an answer that satisfied my curiosity. That is why I have come to nairaland with this question. OK, so if there is a job interview and somebody who is older than you (or your senior) is less qualified than you (he left university with 3rd class while you left with first class). Will they give him the job, simply because he is older than you? Obviously not. Thanks for the reply anyway |
This is a question that has been on my mind for a long time now. Please who knows why Nigerians are always forced to add "sir" or "ma" to greetings. I will be moving into a house where the landlord is staying very soon... so that is why I've come here for advice on this question. By the way with the population explosion in Nigeria, it took me 5 days of listening to "no vacancy". My leg started paining me as a result of the trekking (which has never happened before in my life). By the way I think Nigeria should adopt the 1 Child To One Family formula just like China to curb this problem. So who knows why Nigerians are always forced to add "sir" or "ma" even after greeting... while striking conversations with certain kinds of people |
"If ASUU does not want IPPIS, they should not be paid by the Federal Government. ASUU should face the core issues; they have used these strikes to create a separate condition of service for themselves. If you want to be self-governing, be self-funding" "The solution is NOT for ASUU to say they want their own solution. Rather, they want they should enroll in IPPIS, then work with the geeks to accommodate the wages and allowances of that visiting professor. ASUU can't use their own software. No" |
More predictions for this weekend, gotten from the Microsoft Excel prediction software

Isloch vs Dynamo Brest Isloch will win & under 3.5 goals (2.11) This game is playing tomorrow saturday. As I promised a few weeks ago, I now have access to every football league out there which I will be sharing online. A good samaritan donated a laptop to me which I use in scraping data from livescore directly into Microsoft Excel. Before I used to depend on football-data.co.uk for their football results so I can copy and paste from there

PHOTSEE:Please do you mean I should post them on nairaland after sharing the predictions into 6 tickets using sharing formula or you meant that I should post the raw predictions only? After thinking long and hard I decided that anybody who wants to join me to use the sharing formula will have to send money to me for the bets to be placed on their behalve. This is because they can derive the sharing formula on their own from the booking codes, since they already know 42 tickets are involved and it's 6 out of 36 games I am using. But if it's the raw prediction you are talking about, this is one of my past predictions from last season

Despite starting the day at N675/$1, the exchange rate between the Naira and the US dollar on Wednesday July 27th, fell beyond the N710/$1 threshold at the black market. The Naira has been under immense pressure in the past two weeks, falling from an average of N618 to a dollar recorded two weeks ago. In the same vein, some bank users who have FX in their domiciliary account revealed that they have not been able to withdraw their funds from the bank due to tightened liquidity. It will be recalled that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) had a year ago banned the sale of foreign currency to BDCs citing the illegal sale as the reason behind its decision. At that time, the exchange rate was about N501/$1 with $33 billion in the country’s foreign currency reserves. Prior to the ban, BDC operators were a major black market, providing exchange rate support to those who could not formally access foreign currencies directly from the CBN. Also, in an attempt to further restrict the flow of forex at the parallel market, the apex bank threatened to arrest and prosecute Nigerians using naira to buy dollars last week. BDCs in Lagos as well as other economic experts, criticised the CBN for failing to initiate policies that will help stabilize the country’s currency value in the forex market. At this rate, I just think the dollar might get to N1000 because the CBN who did all it could in the name of illegality has not been able to come up with a solution to supply foreign currency. The CBN ought to answer Nigerians on how it has failed to stabilize the Naira. Inspite of all that is going on, if you check google search for the exchange rate of the Naira to the US dollar, it is still reflecting N415/$1. If you go to bank to request for dollar at this said rate, they will tell you that there is no dollar. You will have to go outside on your own and buy from the black market. Is this not a deception? |
Bergavis:It depends. If all the 36 predictions are wrong, what are you sharing? The person will lose. At least a handful of the predictions must be correct, for the sharing formula to work effectively |
PECON1:Good point. We will be working with both teams to score predictions, which Microsoft Excel will provide. That is the market we will use for the sharing formula |
If you interested in contacting me through email, please send the following code to me Email Subject: Sharing Formular Discussion From Nairaland On July 2022 Email Message: I am interested in the sharing formular. Please reply my message, so I can know what to do next |
