Wsx2: My brother the truth hurts and you just nailed it. I was expressing the same thing a canada express entry thread and someone who I am sure has never travelled kept saying Bla bla bla That I am trying to discourage people from coming .
I am in Toronto eglinton area and With what I have seen here in canada I am disappointed. This is not what I expect. There are centinnial college students who has been here for 5 months looking for just common menial jobs and they can’t find any. Anyone that have high hope coming here will regret it. It will take several years to get things together in canada. I have seen these complaints are coming majorly for toronto. It has been said over and over again that the city is highly competitive. In Short the bigger cities toronto and Vancouver are highly competitive and dont forget you donot have any canadian experience why not go to less competitive province. Now this is the part i cannot understand why will someone who is on a budget be looking for admission in such big cities. Will i say they failed to do thier research so inadvertently planned to fail. Please go to cities that are not so populated and have lower cost of living so that when unforseen circumstances arise you will be able to manage the situation. Canada is still my far better than Nigeria so don't be your own undoing OneLove |

Gbengenedon: Hello, I love to apply for undergraduate degree with university of Regina ( Canada) , do you think I can apply by myself or do I need agent’s help? Actually I have NECO and I was told university of Manitoba doesn’t accept NECO result but only WAEC which I do not have.
So I like to ask, if applying by myself will be challenging or not? Also is it possible for me to accompany my immediate family under study visa?
Thanks for taking your time to read my message and reply. 🙏 Yes you apply by yourself. For your admissions your honestly do not need an agent. Go to you tube and start your research. By the next 2 weeks you will be amazed at the wealth of knowledge you have acquired. Secondly research so many schools in all province research on cost of living, reasearch on easy PR pathways. Research on the acceptance rate of each school. Lastly and very important research on tuition. So you are not surprise after pay application fee. Best of too.. As an addition your can research on colleges too. They are usually faster more affordable and well recognized programs.... |

Dorisdili: Thanks alot for your response.
Your first point is noted.
There were no unexpected lump sum. The accounts had good inflow and outflow.
She paid part tuition - full first semester tuition
In her SOP, she explained that her husband is the main sponsor and my dad is the co-sponsor, and her husband has approved his bank to transfer 3k monthly to her account for her upkeep while she is on Canada. Could you kindly advice if there are better ways to explain the sponsor situation in the SOP?
The statements were printed stated, and it was for 4months.
If you don't mind, can you please explain the MBS statement? I am not sure what that is. Thank you I will advice you use a registered immigration consultant that have a track record with though cases. Please not agent. So far everything looks good. Only a specialized consultant can see what the VO is seeing. So they will know the best way to tackle such issue. My two cents... |

OldwomanWoman: Words of advise to women who are coming without their spouses..if you coming with kids..get ready!!! I notice nobody talks about the reality on ground…It will hit hard, you will question why you embarked on the journey..
Don’t let any agent deceive you to leave your spouse behind..I know they say it increases one’s chance ..who go get visa to get visa or better still..come alone first and do all the ground work then your kids can join you later..
People are not giving feedback on their first few months as international student with kids and no spouse.
If you insist, pls come into the country earlier..like two months before resumption..common mistakes women without their spouse make..
Come with plenty money too..plenty plenty money..if you know anyone in Canada (family) connect with them to see if they can accommodate pending when your sort accommodation..
Accommodation is one hell of a task for women with kids..you will go through hell and back before you find one .. even if you can prove that you can afford they won’t still give..
Last last some of us paid 6 months upfront!
Not to put fears but prepare yourself..prepare hard!
Don’t make the mistake of coming alone without spouse..spouse can accompany, then he returns once you are settled..
The worst time to travel as a mom with kids and no spouse is winter!!!!!!
No fears..just prepare yourself! Relocation is huge! Prepare!!!!!! Without being told sef..... I no fit try am. Let him follow with a visiting visa biko. Even just thinking about how you will cope there without any help can give you head ache |

Please come to my aid...
I am trying to come up with a plan and strategy to use in my study visa application.
I intend moving with my family (family of 4). Now my challenge is how to convince the VO. I intended using my brother as my sponsor for my tuition fee claiming he sponsored me before here in nigeria and is willing to sponsor me again. Now i know that claiming my brother will sponsor our living expense for all 4 of us will not fly. So am thinking my husband should be a co sponsor. With all the living éxpenses and flight tickets. Now this is my question what should i tell the Vo that is the reason my husband want to travel with me and the two kids. Because hubby is a little bit advanced in age, it is expected he would have built up a career for himself here so why will he want to leave his career here to go to canada just to be with me and the kids. I just need a very strong reason that the VO can accept while a husband will leave his career here and go canada when he isnt the one that gained admission.
Please if your case is similar to mine please help.
Also will it make any sense that i and the 2 kids get our visa first and travel then he applies later saying the kids are not coping well without thier father.
Abeg just help me. |

Army2022: Good morning my nairaland family. This will be a bit lengthy bear with me. May my testimony help some troubled souls to relax.
I got Conestoga admission June 2022 and paid my 1500cad to secure my admission. I got this without knowing anything about study visa requirements (I thought if I walked into the embassy with my admission letter, I'll be given a visa immediately hahahahahaha). Then I checked for the requirements online and my jaw dropped, I thought it was impossible but my cousin told me babe don't give up. Just one step at a time. July 2022 I completed my first semester tuition almost 9k.( I did this to motivate me, because I don't want to give up) Then the search for POF sponsor began. ...got in september cousin's friend whom I've never met or seen.
Why I said my application was imperfect.
1*) Sponsor didn't agree to give me copy of his int'l pssprt, just ordinary personal work ID. *Refused to give his picture(to proof relationship) *Sponsor didn't want to disclose his balance, so the POF was almost 2months prior submission. (I don't have an option)
2*) I said I didn't have a family to avoid the vo thinking I won't come back. (This one gave me sleepless night) I regretted saying No. I thought I'll be given 5years ban for not accepting I have a family there.
Then I stumbled into nairaland. May God bless the brain behind this forum. I visited regularly to read testimonies and finally joined in December 2022. Some people's testimony here gave me hope while some people's documents were intimidating lol. Being in this group was a huge blessing to me. Here I learned about sending webform, deferral, mp's, emails and gcms notes. And this helped me greatly.
My documents: SOA mine and sponsor's. My bank reference Acceptance Letter First semester tuition receipt (forgot to add this, but sent it through webform last week together with my updated LOA) Employment letters and references Transcript and results Int'l passport and passport photograph SOP Form 5257, Form 1294 and Form 5645 Survey&Evaluation.
Applied: 11 October 2022 Biometrics: 14th October Correspondences and PPR: 30 January 2023
May we all get our PPR and may the Land of Canada favor us all in Jesus name Amen. Thank you Jesus. Wow congratulations... This is encouraging |
