A Southerner Cannot Be My Neighbour - Dep Commissioner of Police to An Igboman That Bought a Property Near his House in Adamawa. A Deputy Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Babazango (see photo), has allegedly threatened violent attacks against one Vincent Umeh for buying property near his house in Adamawa State. SaharaReporters learnt that the Police boss, who hails from Adamawa State, claimed he did not want a Southerner as his next-door neighbour. Babazango, who is currently attached to the Lagos State Police Command, was reportedly infuriated to learn that a Southeasterner was his new neighbour. SaharaReporters learnt that the property is located at 33, Mohammed Mustapha Way, Opposite Ford Oil, Yola, in Adamawa State. In a viral audio, Babazango was heard warning Umeh to reverse the purchase deal or face bitter consequences, including no guarantee of his personal safety. "We're a homogeneous community, I don't want you; you can't be my next door neighbour, I swear. What sort of insult is this? Can any Northerner move now to the South-East, say Onitsha and just bump into any neighborhood to buy a property; just like that?” the DCP queried. Narrating his ordeal, Umeh said, "I acquired the property late last year from one Ismail Mamman; the transaction was perfected and a title deed was issued to me. "I was surprised to receive a call from a man who introduced himself as DCP Ibrahim Babazango, a neighbour of Ismail Mamman who sold the property to me. He threatened that I should abandon the property because he could not guarantee my safety as his neighbour. "I pleaded with him to no avail. I asked him what I did wrong by purchasing the property, at least within the context of the law. He kept yelling that I was not welcome in the neighbourhood and I am a stranger in the community. "Given his threat, I reported the matter to the police and Department of State Services.” As it was further gathered, Babazango claimed that his former neighbour sold the property to Umeh without offering him (Babazango) a neighbour, the first right to buy. When contacted by SaharaReporters, Babazango stood his ground on the threats. He said, “My neighbour sold the house to a businessman without waiting for me, after I had indicated interest to buy the property. Believe me, I cannot guarantee his safety if he insists on owning the property because as it is; we live like brothers in this area; so for an outsider who is not from this part of the country to buy a property in this area, is unacceptable. "I have reported the matter to the District Head of Jemita and I will also take him to court if need be.” On his part, the vendor, Ismail Mamman said, “The property is mine and I sold it to Mr. Vincent Umeh; all the documents were duly signed by me and my brother as witness between us, in the presence of a lawyer after we agreed on a price. "I had approached him, my former neighbour, DCP Ibrahim Babazango that I wanted to sell my property, he said he would contact his brother but I didn't get his feedback; so I sold it to a ready buyer. I have no problems with the buyer at all.” - Sahara Reporters. Copied

Nigerian Man Publicly Proposes to Tiwa Savage, Says He’s Filled Marriage Application Form. A man identified as Festus Awolowo Etame has publicly declared his intention to marry Nigerian music star Tiwa Savage, stating that he has already filled out a marriage application form for her. In an open letter addressed to the singer, Festus described himself as a single, educated man from Isoko, Delta State, currently living in Abuja, and working in management consultancy, book authorship, and publishing. He wrote: “Dear Tiwa Savage, almost a week ago I posted my marriage proposal to you, asking for your hand in marriage as my first and only wife. I believe in monogamy and I don’t want you to be a second or third wife to any man. I also promise to adopt your son.” Festus went on to explain that his intentions were sincere and not influenced by Tiwa’s fame or wealth, emphasizing that he had once been married to a Yoruba woman who passed away in 2019. “For over six years I’ve been searching for true love again. I don’t smoke, drink, or womanize. You’re beautiful enough for me, and I’ll seek no other woman,” he added. He further described marriage to Tiwa as a “test ground” for his Christian lifestyle and urged her to be careful with suitors, adding: “All that glitters isn’t gold. I’m not coming to chop and run; I’m here to chop and remain with you. As a Management Consultant, I’ll be able to manage our successes for our joint good.” Festus concluded his heartfelt note by signing off as “your husband-to-be.” Sources: Stella Dimoko korkus.com

Late President Umaru Shehu Yaradua was the first and only president in history who was honest enough to admit that the election that brought him to power was flawed. To address the glaring flaws and manipulations in the Nigeria’s election, late President Yaradua set up the Justice Uwais Panel on Electoral Reform One of the key and most important recommendations made by the Justice Uwais panel was on the appointment of the INEC chairman The panel recommended that INEC chairman should not be appointed by the sitting president The panel recommended that the position of INEC chairman should be advertised and the best candidate picked after a rigorous selection process. Curiously, former President Jonathan implemented almost all the panel recommendations except the appointment of INEC. President Jonathan who was a very weak president went against Justice Uwais panel’s recommendation and appointed a Professor of Political Science from Bayero University: Professor Jega as INEC chairman Successive presidents have followed President Jonathan’s footsteps to appoint university professors who have spent all their lives in the classrooms with zero or close to nothing knowledge of managing even a local government election as head of INEC to manage a national election Many of these professors also have no ICT professional backgrounds and they are appointed to manage a nationwide election that’s almost 100% ICT based and run. Why do they refuse to implement the most critical recommendations of the Justice W Uwais panel? The presidents both former and present can’t stand an independently selected person to conduct elections. They must appoint their own man that can manipulate the elections for them. |
I know swy Nigeria must dey inside. No thanks to APC and Boko Haram. |

PRESS RELEASE POLICE SHOW OF SHAME IN COURT TODAY ABDUCTING SOWORE AGAIN IN COURT PREMISES IN KUJE SHORTLY AFTER BAIL WAS GRANTED Today, within the hallowed precincts of justice, the courtroom, a scene most shocking and shameful unfolded before our very eyes. After the court had freely and honorably granted bail to human rights defender Omoyele Sowore on liberal terms, a detachment of police officers, led by CSP Iliyasu, OC Anti Vice, State Command CID, invaded the court premises in a display of raw impunity and disdain for the rule of law. They descended violently upon Omoyele Sowore snd those present and, in the full glare of the public, abducted Sowore and whisked him away. In the course of standing up against this brazen illegality, I and others were physically assaulted; I sustained injuries and my bib was blood-stained in the chaos that ensued. The officers, in a most unruly and undisciplined manner, rough-handled Sowore away and whisked him away. Let it be known that Sowore was not taken to prison, for any legal justification. Instead, the police spirited him away to an unknown destination, a clear and direct affront to the authority of the court, a mockery of the rule of law, and a violation of the fundamental rights of a citizen. The judiciary is the last hope of the common man. The magistrate displayed courage despite stiff opposition from the police to frustrate bail. That was what irked them. What we saw after was not law or anything close to legality, its police and executive brigandage. Today marks a dark and painful moment for justice and democracy in Nigeria. Yet, it is also a moment of reckoning, a call to conscience. To our fellow countrymen who once fell for the propaganda of “enforcing court orders, let this incident serve as an awakening. The government and it's enforcers are not after enforcing or obedience to court order but just a schemed propaganda to cajole those cant see through to a sinister end. We call upon the Attorney General of the Federation, the National Human Rights Commission, and indeed all well-meaning Nigerians and lovers of justice to rise in unison and condemn this reckless desecration of our judicial institution. We demand deferrence to the order of court granting bail. Tope Temokun For Omoyele Sowore Writing from the Magistrate court, Kuje. October 24, 2025. Copied |
