Politics › Re: Minimum Wage: Resign If You Can’t Pay, Labour Tackles Governors by Energist: 5:02am On Jun 09, 2024 |
That won't still solve the problem. Let there be a fair model for calculating minimum wages based on the economic realities of the various states. For example, South-South states should have a higher minimum compared to other states except perhaps Lagos. In the north where the cost of living is relatively lower, the minimum wage should follow suit except if the state generates enough IGR to afford a higher figure. All in all, make sure you get a good side hustle if you're a civil servant especially working with the state government. |

The average Nigerian public servant is poorly paid. But doctors are the best paid. There's no profession I know in the civil service that start their career at level 12 except the medical professionals. Graduate engineers start at Level 9. Some argue that other professionals in lucrative government or private organisations earn better. But doctors in such organisations are also paid well. No one discriminates against them. |

The power supply even then wasn't anything good. You can go several days without it. The only thing I think NEPA was better was in terms of pricing and then provision of power infrastructure. NEPA had new transformers and other power equipment, even though they weren't enough. The current Discos seldom install new transformers. Rather, customers buy the equipments and are forced to sign asset transfer to the Discos. To add insult to injury, the customers pay the Disco for installing the transformer. What a country! |

Tuesday morning he proceeded to fill out his form M but guess what the CBN changed the rate overnight to 1500. Using your analysis you should be in favor of the government covering his shortfalls I am assuming. Of course. So far as the form M was approved before the rate went up |

Great gesture. The forex shortfall was no fault of the pilgrims. All pilgrims completely paid the Naira equivalent at least 2 to 3 months ago when the dollar was around 1100 Naira. Why will govt authorities turn around to give them something less? |

Both Sanusi and Aminu share the same ancestor, Abdullahi Bayero. Bayero's eldest son is Sanusi's grandfather. Another son of his, Ado, is the father of Aminu. |

Or is it just a coincidence?
🤔 No, this particular Nasarawa is an area within Kano metropolis. It's the most affluent neighborhood which contains the Govt House, Secretariat etc |
