EXCLUSIVE! Fayemi presents N25bn Budget to Buhari for Ekiti guber election, Says "Ekiti people are poor, they will sell their votes"

In readiness for the July 14 governorship election in Ekiti State, the Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Dr Kayode Fayemi Fayemi has submitted a budget of N25 billion to President Muhammadu Buhari to fund the election.

Fayemi, who is the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), presented the budget to the President through his Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari before the President met with governorship aspirants in Abuja yesterday.

A source that was privy to the development disclosed that Fayemi frankly told the Chief of Staff that “Ekiti people are extremely poor, when they see money, they will vote for me. The moment there is money, we can buy enough votes to win the election.”

Even before he declared his intention to vie for the governorship, Fayemi had allegedly boasted that he had capacity to provide N8 billion from his own pocket to fund the election, while also giving the assurance of N20 billion from the Presidency to buy one vote at not less than N20,000.″

After presenting the N25 billion budget to President Buhari’s Chief of Staff yesterday, a meeting was fixed for Saturday, where how to source the fund will be discussed and finalized.

The source however revealed that four major government institutions are already penciled down for the provision of the fund.

Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai was listed to be contacted to handle the souring of at least, from N10.5 billion from the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) since his person is the Managing Director while the Minster of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi will raise N6 billion from the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA). The remaining N8.5 billion is expected to be raised from the NNPC.

[BREAKING] Gun-running allegation: Dino Melaye granted bail

The trial judge in the gun-running allegation against the Senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye, has granted the bail application in his favour.

Justice Nasir Ajana, who ruled on the bail application before a Lokoja High Court on Wednesday (today) in Lokoja, based his ruling on the conviction as submitted by the defense counsel, Chief Mike Ozekhome (SAN) to the effect that the continued incarceration of Senator Melaye will jeopardise his health condition, which he said was “deteriorating.”

He also said that there was nothing to show that the applicant would jump bail if granted.

Ajana therefore admitted Melaye to bail, with one surety for N10m.

The embattled senator was not in court, as he was still on hospital admission in Abuja.

PoliticsEKITI 2018: 2014 Flashback: People's Might Greater Than Federal Might: FAYEMI by engineerboat(op): 11:57am On May 16, 2018
The Minister of Mine and Steel, Dr. Kayode Fayemi Had boasted that the All Progressives Congress(APC) will deploy all the governmental advantages it has to wrest power in Ekiti from the Peoples Democratic Party come July 2018.

He also threatened that once the PDP was roundly defeated, the governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, would be prosecuted for mismanaging the economy of the state.

But we want to remind Dr. Fayemi about His earlier statements on April 25 2014 said that:

Federal might is always going to be a factor in any election, but I can assure you that the peoples’ might is bigger than federal might. So, we have nothing to fear.

Read more at: https://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/04/ive-done-enough-earn-second-term-fayemi/
Mr Fayemi in 2014, according to your prophesy, the People's might eventually prevail, Fayose won.

So also this year 2018, People's Might is greater than your Federal Might.

PoliticsCJN Condemns Attack On Rivers High Court by engineerboat(op): 9:24pm On May 14, 2018
The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen, has condemned last week Friday’s attack by suspected APC members on a High Court in River State.

The attackers, who blocked the court around 11 a.m that Friday, were believed to be members of a faction of the ruling All progressive Congress (APC), seeking to stop a judge from pronouncing a judgement in a suit filed by an opposing faction of the same party.

According to multiple sources who spoke with PREMIUM TIMES, at least two persons were killed and others injured in the attack.

In the statement signed by Mr Onnoghen’s spokesperson, Awassam Bassey; the CJN said the attack could be visited on other courts, if not checked.

“The Honourable, the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Hon. Mr. Justice Walter Samuel Nkanu Onnoghen, GCON, has been informed of an attack on the Port Harcourt High Court complex on Friday, 11th May, 2018.

“According to the reports, this attack took place as Judges, Magistrates, staff and lawyers reported for duty at the said Rivers State High Court Complex in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital. Judicial and non-Judicial staff were denied access to the Complex as all the gates had been padlocked and the buildings surrounded by hoodlums.

“These hoodlums, who were said to be heavily armed, reportedly inflicted bodily harm to Judicial Officers and other staff of the Judiciary going about their lawful duties and destroyed some properties belonging to the Judiciary.

“This action was aimed at stopping the Court from sitting and delivering a ruling in an intra-party dispute of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in respect of the Local Government congresses of the party in the State,” the statement said.

It added that the action was disturbing.

“This latest act of intimidation of the judiciary and the unwarranted violence against a peaceful institution of an Arm of Government is quite disturbing. More importantly, such show of shame ought not to be encouraged by right thinking members of the Nigerian Public.”

The statement also expressed fears about further attacks as Nigeria approaches the 2019 election year.

“If the enemies of our peace and democracy succeed or get away with what occurred at the High Court in Port-Harcourt, it would be a source of encouragement to them to do same to the Court of Appeal, and ultimately, the Supreme Court of Nigeria, whenever any one of them perceives that a judgment may be delivered against any of them or the interests they represent.

“The Judiciary remains the last hope of man, and our Judges and Judicial Officers are called upon to remain true to their Oath of Office. They must remain focused, resolute, and courageous, regardless of the effort at intimidating them.

“The Nigerian Public is urged to continue to have faith in the Judiciary of the Nation. Any person with a legitimate complaint against another person, organisation or institution is advised to employ the civilised and legal mode of redress as contained and guaranteed by our Constitution. Whoever is dissatisfied with the outcome of decisions of our Courts of Law has the right of appeal as Constitutionally guaranteed. The Judiciary will never fail in its duties.

“Violence, the type visited on the Judiciary of Rivers State is alien to any civilised society and therefore condemnable.”

sorry I am not the chief justice of Nigeria to determine if it is illegal. the constitution is clear if fayose feels he was illegally booted out he can challenge the decision and seek for redress in the competent court of law.e.g rotimi ameachi.
but he chooses to not cause he knows it is a dead on arrival case.

fayose was no we're to be found from 2006 till 2014 .
if he indeed is a grassroot politican he wouldn't have been impeached in the first place.

fayemi did not lose elections to fayose he lost to federal forces led by obanikoro .
now karma is about to serve Him same mealgrin

People keep saying fayemi Owed one month salary.its not the real truth.
This is what happened.
At the end of his tenure. There was a month outstanding allocation to the state which was not released as a result of the pronouncement by the Gov elect.actually most states at that september 2014 had not collected any allocation. From the Fg that was when the recession was in gear 2.

Fayemi was not given the allocation for that month.which was from which he was to pay the salaries.Mind you he left office in october10 or so.
Fortunately the allocation for september 2014 was released in Nov 2014 to the new administration only for it to refuse paying workers for sep 2014.
This is the fact.in the actual sense the 1 month supposed salary is with Oshoko
Who told you.
PoliticsRe: Why Fayemi Will Beat Eleka At The Polls In Ekiti 2018 by engineerboat(m): 3:22pm On May 14, 2018
ArmedRobber:
1) fayemi is a former governor of the state.Don't let anybody deceive you that a one term governor of a state doesn't' have any political base in the state he governed for four years.
as will speak he still has his loyalist not just in grassroots but also in the civil services of ekiti.
he left power with just one month salary owing but today ekiti is owing 7 months salary.

2) fayemi performance as a governor dwarfs fayose achievements in every sectors of the state.

3) fayemi has the backing of grassroots politicians of the states e.g seun Oni, niyi adebayo daramola e.t.c.

4)fayemi has only one term to complete the likes of segun oni and other grassroots politicians will be making a political blunder if they Don't support him cos he only has four years to rule.

(5) fayemi didn't lose election to fayose. he lost to the federal forces that was lead by Minister of defence musiliu obanikoro.
2018 the federal forces is going to be on his side

(6) the likes of amechi, saraki, tinubu, oshomole was barred from entering ekiti prior on the eve of elections to give their candidate moral support.

2018 ,the president will lead the federal forces to ekiti and apc will storm ekiti will the full arsenal.

the likes of tinubu,Buhari, saraki, amosun, ameachi, el rufai, ganduje ,rochas okorocha, oshomole, ambode akeredolu will be present on ground.

it is going to be a tough one but fayemi will definitely come out victorious

@POLITICSNGR
Governor of Kogi state, Yahaya Bello has dared ex-president, Olusegun Obasanjo and his party, ADC to show the Nigerian public their presidential candidate.

While reacting to Obasanjo’s announcement on the transformation of his political movement into a political party, the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Bello said the APC is well prepared to slug it out with the new party in the 2019 general elections.

Bello’s challenge on Obasanjo was made at a stakeholders’ forum organized in Lokoja recently. He said;

"Let us see who they will present to contest against President Muhammadu Buhari, our God-given leader, whom US President Donald Trump, even referred to as Sir."

He added;

"We are going to retire these old and bad politicians in 2019. It is just like the President said, ‘if we don’t kill corruption, corruption will kill Nigeria.’ So also, if we don’t retire these old and bad politicians, good politicians will be sent away."

I have been following comments on this thread since morning and I laugh. How anyone thinks that Fayose's candidate will win in the forthcoming elections beats me hollow. Assuming without conceding that JKF is not popular in the state, has anyone not read his body language and see that he is desperate to return to that seat, and there's nothing more dangerous than a desperate man. Considering that the party Fayose belongs to does not control the Police and Armed Forces anymore, I predict that JKF is about to deal Fayose a bitter dose of his own medicine come this elections and with Fayemi having gathered a great financial war chest from his stint as minister , aligned with the determination of some young turks in the South West APC to defenestrate Asiwaju Tinubu (see what happened in Ondo State as a reference for my point). I hate to be the bearer of bad news but welcome Governor JKF back to Ekiti State come the next election. I'm not a fan of either men but this is just my unbiased opinion from reading the tealeaves.
