The tribunal presided over by Justice Ahmed Badamasi granted the application of the PDP through its counsel, Yusuf Ali, SAN for the ballot papers earlier admitted as exhibits by the tribunal to be recounted. The tribunal also ordered that the recounting of ballot papers used in four local government areas, namely Akoko Edo, Egor, Etsako East and Etsako West, in the September 28 Governorship Election in Edo, be done in the open court. According to the INEC documents the total number of registered Voters in Akoko-Edo was 111,832 while the Votes Cast stood at 39,522. For Egor, the total number of registered voters are 183,135 the total Votes Cast is 49,274. The total number of registered voters in Etsako East Is 68,080, while the total Votes Cast is 29,434. In the same vein, Etsako West has a total of 140,366 registered voters while the total Votes Cast is 41,594. There was however a slight delay before the recounting commenced, as the Counsel to INEC Onyinye Alumonye told the court that the INEC staff who will represent the Commission in the process was not in court. As at press time, the tribunal granted the prayer of Ali (SAN) for an increase in the number of representatives from all parties, who will be split into two groups, to speed up the entire process. Indications are that all the ballot papers for the polling units are being counted at the end of which the total counted for each local government will be recorded by all parties. |

[quote author=TonyeBarcanista post=53521712]By TonyeBarcanista Even in the best of relationships, feelings change. It’s just a normal part of love. It is so normal that psychologists have noticed a near-universal pattern in the way lovers’ attitudes towards one another change. There are basically FIVE distinct stages of love which every relationship and marriage pass through. Though most relationships and marriages end in stage 3, couples that can pass through this 3rd stage will sure enjoy that dream happy-ever-after kind of relationship. Stage 1: Falling In Love Or Romance Stage:Carefulness demands that before going on or starting, know what you want Stage 2: Becoming Partners:As much as every partners will want to like this stage. Every problems noticed should be promptly attended to, cause "owuro la ti san imo gbiģbe" "kekere la tin peka iroko" Stage 3: Disillusionment Or Power Struggle:This arises because they refuses to "peka iroko noticed above" Stage 4: Real Love/Commitment |
Every Marriage relationship goes through all this stages. The onus is laid upon the partners to work out the relationship anf makes it workable |

Minister of Transportation, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, yesterday, said All Progressives Congress, APC, government did not promise to fix Nigeria’s problem within a year and cautioned those lamenting the economic hardship to wait till 2019 for the desired change. Also, the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, cautioned Nigerians against making statements that could cause religious disharmony, warning that “no nation has ever survived religious war.” The ministers spoke in Ilorin, Kwara State, during a North Central town hall meeting for the people of Kogi, Niger and Kwara states by the Federal Government. Amaechi, who was the Director General of the Campaign Organisation of President Muhammadu Buhari during the 2015 elections, said though the Federal Government knows that things are difficult, Nigerians should wait till the end of the four-year mandate given to the administration before they can judge whether the government had performed or not. According to him, “we did not promise you that those challenges will be solved in one year or you would have given us a one-year mandate. But you gave us four years mandate, so wait till the end of four years before you can conclude that we have not done well.” While giving stewardship of his ministry, the minister lamented that the refusal of the National Assembly to approve the government’s borrowing plan from China was drawing the government back, urging the people from the three states to prevail on the National Assembly to approve the loan. According to him, if accessed, the loan would enable the government embark on the rivatalisation of rail projects, which would create more jobs. He said: “Go and talk to your people in the National Assembly. They are the ones holding the Federal Government back from improving on the infrastructure that would provide mass employment for the people by stopping the President’s borrowing plan from China. They are the ones frustrating our efforts.” On his stewardship, the Minister of Health, Professor Issac Adewole, said the Federal Government had secured a loan of $500 million to fund the revival of basic health institutions across the country. He explained that N420 million was disbursed to each state in 2015 to fund the project in their respective states. Under the scheme, which would provide 1,000 basic health centres as already captured in the budget, the minister said a model health centre is being cited in each of the three senatorial districts of the three states. Other ministers who gave accounts of their stewardship were those of Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed; Water, Sulyman Adamu; Mining and Steel (State), Abubakar Bwauari, and Trade and Investment, Ayishat Abubakar. Former Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode on Monday, asked the Federal High Court Abuja, to adjourn his case to allow him explore other options of settlement aside from going to trial. Former Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode on Monday, asked the Federal High Court Abuja, to adjourn his case to allow him explore other options of settlement aside from going to trial. Counsel to Fani-Kayode, Mr Ahmed Raji (SAN), who made the application on his behalf said that since the sum of money involved was only N26 million, he believed that there were other options of settlement. Raji added that moreover, he was new on the case and would need some time to go over the facts of the case to enable him defend his client effectively. “My Lord, I am just coming into the case and so I crave your indulgence to enable me familiarize myself with the case. “Secondly, looking at the facts of the case and the money involved, I believe that there are other options we can explore. “The case involves the sum of N26 million and the law allows you to explore the option of plea bargain and so many other options rather than go through trial,” Raji said. He said that if the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) was amenable to plea bargain, the defence would take the option. The prosecuting counsel, Mr Johnson Ojogbane, said he was not opposing the application. https://www.today.ng/news/nigeria/255712/n26m-scam-fani-kayode-seeks-court-settlement

Mr Femi Adesina, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President has said the period of extension of President Muhammadu Buhari’s vacation in London was not specified because ““there is no vacuum in government’’. Adesina, who stated this in an interview with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) on Sunday night, said the time was not stated so as enable the president to get clean bill of health from his doctors. He said the president has already transmitted power to the Vice-President who had been performing his constitutional duties as acting president. According to Adesina, with the extension of his vacation, President Buhari now has adequate time to rest before he returns home. “”When he was leaving on Jan. 19 we announced that it was a vacation during which he would also do routine medical check-ups. “ ”Now, those check-ups have thrown up things that need to be further looked at and that is why he is asking for this extension of the vacation. “ The time is not stated and that reason is not far to seek because Mr President transmitted power to his vice, who is now the acting President. “ ”So, he does not need to be under that pressure of time again because there is no vacuum in government, there is an acting president. “ ”Therefore, the doctors can now exhaustively look at him and give him a clean bill of health before he returns home,’’ he said. On those spreading dangerous rumours on the president’s health conditions, the presidential aide urged them to desist from such ungodly acts. He charged them to always pray for the good health of the president and have goodwill toward their fellow human beings. “ My message will be what I also said before, goodwill, let us have goodwill towards our president. “”We as human beings must have goodwill towards one another. Any man can be sick; any man can get well; any man can even die, we are mortals. Anybody can die; anybody falls sick can also get well. “ ”Therefore, all those who peddle those evil, mischievous, malicious and malevolent rumours on social media need to have a rethink. Instead of all those evil wishes they should have goodwill towards the president,’’ he added. Adesina in an earlier statement disclosed that President Buhari had written the National Assembly, informing it of his desire to extend his leave in order to complete and receive the results of a series of tests recommended by his doctors. “The President had planned to return to Abuja this evening, but was advised to complete the test cycle before returning. The notice has since been dispatched to the Senate President, and Speaker, House of Representatives. “Mr. President expresses his sincere gratitude to Nigerians for their concern, prayers and kind wishes,” a statement earlier issued by Adesina on Sunday said. Newsmen report that President Muhammadu Buhari left Abuja for the United Kingdom on Jan. 19 on a short leave, which is part of his annual vacation. The President formally handed over mantle of leadership of the country to his Vice-President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo. Read more at: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2017/02/man-can-sick-even-die-adesina/

The National Association of Nigerian Students has said students will go ahead with the planned protest scheduled for Monday to draw government attention to the suffering of the majority of Nigerians despite the withdrawal of the convener of the protest, Tuface From the match. The Deputy Coordinator of NANS in the South West, Mr. Saheed Afolabi, said this while speaking with our correspondent on the telephone on Sunday. ravaging the majority of Nigerians as a result of the economic crisis facing Nigeria. “It is good that Tuface came up with the idea of the peaceful protest but we are going ahead with it even if he decides not to participate in it any longer. There is hunger in the land, it is too much and we the students are the hardest hit by the poor economy. “Tuface’s case can be likened to the case of a bus conductor, who loads a bus and decides not to travel with it. We will go ahead with the planned protest with our without his ( Tuface) participation.” He assured security agents of good conduct on the part of the students, saying their aim was not to cause mayhem but to let those in government be aware of the suffering of the masses. http://punchng.com/nans-vows-go-ahead-protest-despite-tuface-withdrawal/
