BERNIMOORE:Can you imagine. Police they display money for election no mention of who collect what. Anyway we are watching and waiting. |
BERNIMOORE:No mind them jare According to the report, for Etsako West, where the ballot papers of only of wards were recounted, the total made available to the tribunal was 8, 432 whereas on INEC form EC8A, the commission gave a total figure of 17, 138 |
The result of the recounting of ballot papers used for the conduct of the September 28 Edo State governorship election in three local government areas has shown discrepancy in the total number of figures announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and that recorded during the recounting exercise. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, are challenging the declaration by INEC of Godwin Obaseki of the All Progressives Congress (APC) winner of the election and have listed INEC, Obaseki and the APC as first, second and third respondents respectively. In its ruling on February 9, 2017, and subsequent orders, the three-man tribunal headed by Justice Ahmed Badamasi granted the prayers of the PDP and Ize-Iyamu by ordering the recount of ballot papers used for the conduct of the election in Egor, Akoko-Edo, Etsako West and Etsako East local government areas. The recounting exercise, which was held between February 9th and 10th, was, however not concluded before the expiration of the period given to the petitioners to prove their cases, but afforded the petitioners enough time to conclude the recounting exercise in some wards in Egor, Akoko-Edo and Etsako West local government areas. In the report that was signed by the assistant secretary to the tribunal, Buhari Sani, for the secrtary and given to parties in the case, the recounting exercise was concluded in Wards 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 in Etsako West Local Government Area, Wards 1 and 2 in Akoko-Edo Local Government Area and Ward 1 of Egor Local Government Area. According to the report, for Etsako West, where the ballot papers of only of wards were recounted, the total made available to the tribunal was 8, 432 whereas on INEC form EC8A, the commission gave a total figure of 17, 138 In Ward 1 of Akoko-Edo Local Government Area, recounts revealed that more ballot papers were used than the figures recorded on the Form EC8A as recounts showed that 3,206 ballot papers were used as opposed to 3,167 recorded by INEC. In Ward 2 of the local government, recounts showed that 3,849 ballot papers were used, while 4,161 was recorded on the Form EC8A by the INEC. In Ward 1 of Egor Local Government Area, recounts indicated that 3,217 ballot papers were used in the eight units of the ward, while 2,770 ballot papers were recorded as used on the Form EC8A. For Etsako West the difference between the recount and the INEC total for the wards affected by the recounting was 8,706, while the difference was 273 for Akoko-Edo and 447 for Egor. Of particular interest to the tribunal maybe the recounting of the ballot papers used in polling unit one of Ward one in Etsako West where the recounted ballot revealed zero but INEC had recorded 462 on its result sheets. The same story it was in polling unit 3 of Ward two where the recount was zero and INEC scored 315 on its result sheets while in polling units one and two of Ward five the recounts were 360 and 304, but INEC wrote ‘cancelled’, on its result sheets. The recounted original ballot papers which are originally for the four local government areas namely Egor, Akoko-edo, Etsako west and Etsako east were produced by the subpoenaed witness from INEC. Tribunal sources confirmed that there were three counting points for the exercise and featured one local government each and in the order of Etsako West, Akoko-Edo and Egor, leaving Etsako East untouched. It will be recalled that all the counting points could not be concluded recounting before the tribunal ordered its stoppage on account of the fact that the period allowed for the petitioners to prove their case has expired. The tribunal resumes sitting on Thursday with INEC opening its defence of how it conducted the election. http://tribuneonlineng.com/edo-tribunal-recounted-ballot-papers-show-discrepancies-inecs-figure/ |

FULL TEXT OF THE PRESS CONFERENCE ADDRESSED BY EKITI STATE GOVERNOR, MR AYODELE FAYOSE TODAY, FEBRUARY 14, 2017, ON THE SEIZURE OF EKITI STATE FEDERAL ALLOCATION AND PLOT TO FREEZE BANK ACCOUNTS OF MAJOR CONTRACTORS IN THE STATE I called you here today to intimate you about the new plot by the All Progressives Congress (APC) led federal government to cripple our state by rendering it impossible for the government to carry out its statutory financial obligations. It is alarming that while we were almost concluding that the siege on Ekiti and its people by the APC government in Abuja, with full collaboration from leaders of the party in Ekiti State had stopped, we are now being confronted with yet another shenanigan by those who won’t mind to see Ekiti people die of hunger just to achieve their selfish political agenda ahead of the 2018 election. The question is; if they have issues with Fayose politically, must they suffer the innocent government workers? Two weeks ago, some top functionaries of the APC in Ekiti State met in Abuja where it was decided that renew efforts should be made to cripple the State. It was agreed that the federal government must be made to stop all intervention funds to Ekiti State while the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) should be used to cripple the finances of contractors handling government legacy projects. The game plan is that the moment workers do not receive their salary, they will hate me and my party, the PDP and this they believe will translate to votes for them in 2018. This new onslaught against Ekiti State and its people started with the stoppage of the State January allocation and statutory budget support fund. While all states in Nigeria received their full allocation from the federation account last month, the budget support fund was not release to Ekiti State thereby making it impossible for the state to meet its financial obligations, most especially the payment of salaries. Three weeks after Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) meeting, they have refused to tell us why they denied Ekiti State of the statutory allocation, and our letter to the Minister of Finance was ignored. In another drama, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is now harassing major contractors handling Ekiti State Government projects, with a view to making sure that the projects are abandoned just because of 2018 election. Obviously, these APC leaders in Ekiti State and their collaborators in Abuja fear that the completion of our ongoing legacy projects like the Overhead Bridge, Oja Oba Market, High Court Complex, Governor Office, Roads construction, among others, will further endear our party, the PDP to the people who will be positively affected. One wonders why the APC will desire that Ekiti people suffer just because of desperation for power. To prevent these projects from being completed, we have it on good authority that accounts of contractors handling major projects are to be frozen, thus prevent completion of the projects in record time. It is so sad that anyone in his or her right senses will want to prevent workers from being paid and projects from being completed just because of their desperation to wrestle power from me, having failed in all theor previous attempts. Interestingly, this same EFCC that is always in a hurry to harass my government has refused to act on several petitions submitted to it on the wanton looting of the State treasury by the immediate past APC government of Dr Kayode Fayemi. However, notwithstanding this new evil plot against the government and people of Ekiti State, I will remain undaunted, believing strongly that God will again overcome this evil-machination. Definitely, this too shall pass. As much as I believe in the fight against corruption, it must not be political and it must be done within the ambit of the law. The EFCC must be prosecutor and not persecutor. After INEC have the whole time to prepare their defense. Thought their counsel was hailing fire and brimstone to the Petitioners Witness all this time. Thinking it will be huhuru time for them. We are waiting and watching. |
The governorship tribunal resume again today Tuesday 14 february 2017. It was the turn of INEC the 1st Respondent to start their defence, however this could not hold as they are not ready for that. Counsel to INEC Oyinye Amunwonye started by complaining that they where bedevilled with so much challenges. First is that their Senior counsel is not available, Second they complainee about logistical problems of Conveying INEC staff not statooned in Benin, inability to reach out to NYSC members who have all passed out ftom edo state, also that some others who are sent text messages didn't respond. Furthermore, he said in order to defend their case, hes is asking for the court to adjoirn till friday, so that they can havr more time to reach out, interact and prepare their witnesses for an effective defense. Responding the chairman of the tribunal Ahmed Gbadamosi admonished the INEC counsel to have been adequately prepare before hand. The counsel to PDP objects to the 1st repondents applications, while the counsel tonthe 2nd and 3rd respondent's suppport the 1st resppndents application. In the judges ruling he stated that is is statutory for the 1st repondents (INEC) starts today, so it will not be out of place to grant them their application to loss 3days from their 10 days, since its still within their timeframe. He therefore finally adjourned sitting till friday 17th Fedruary, Fedruary 2017. |

The leader of All Progressive Congress (APC), Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu has denied the reports especially the pictures being circulated by the APC media and the presidency claiming that he and Bisi Akande the chairman APC Board of Trustees paid a courtesy visit to the Nigerian ailing President, Muhammadu Buhari in London. Alhaji Tinubu according to Hope For Nigeria was shocked by the visibly photoshopped pictures clarified at his Bourdillon residence in Ikoyi Lagos that he did not travel to the United Kingdom and there was no way he should have seen President Buhari. The APC leader added that he was surprised and aghast to see his pictures alongside of Bisis Akande and Buhari stating that he was at Ibadan on the said day to attend to some personal matters and came back to Lagos the following day only to be surprised with the news all over the media. “I did not travel to London or anywhere outside the country” quoted Tinubu. Tinubu continued by saying that, “What surprised me most was the pictures published and spreading all over the social media showing myself and Akande with Buhari in London. I didn't travel out of the country so the question is where did these pictures emanate from? “The presidential aides are not living up to their expectations in handling information relating to the president’s health, Tinubu said. I see nothing wrong in someone falling sick after all we are all humans and not machines, even machines do breakdown” The presidential aides have left room for rumours and grapevines to thrive regarding the president vacation with conflicting statements and pronouncements. Recently some state governors called for prayers for the president. Also the wife of the president Mrs Aisha Buhari thank all Nigerians for their support and goodwill as reported by Thisday. You will recalled that pictures of Tinubu and Akande visiting Buhari in London was all over the social media. this was to prove to Nigerians that president Buhari is hail and hearty. But Lagos Herald had earlier published the truth about the president health and situation report which non of the presidential aides has come out to deny It was reported that President Buhari is currently at the Intensive Care Unit ( ITU) of Kings College Hospital Denmark Hill, London. According to Hope For Nigeria, the mafia holding President Buhari hostage has ensure that Nigerians including high ranking government officials are not allowed to see the sick Nigerian leader and resorts to sending fake pictures and letters purported to have been written by President Buhari. <READ MORE> - http://www.hopefornigeriaonline.com/breaking-travel-london-see-buhari-ibadan-tinubu/ |
Professor Ango Abdullahi in an interview with Daily Sun, has said that the election of President Muhammadu Buhari is a Northern agenda not a party issue. He said the North never voted for the candidate not the party. He also noted that the Buhari administration has so far disappointed the North who expected more than what it is currently getting from the government. He said ; There are so many people who have this mistaking belief that it was APC that won the election here in the North. The North only voted APC on paper; but APC was formed only 18 months to the elections. There are so many other forces that brought about the election of General Buhari. Yes, we are expecting very much from this government. There is no question about that. But it is true that by most assessments, the North is unhappy with what it is getting out of the Buhari administration. I think it depends on the area. But to be honest I was expecting much more than we are getting. I raised this issue at an earlier interview that Buhari himself as a person has got all that it takes. He is a man of integrity, honesty and experience to be in a position of leadership where he is now, but it takes more than one hand and man head to run a complex organization let alone to run a complex country like Nigeria. http://www.thebreakingpostng.com/politics/the-north-voted-for-buhari-not-apc-but-we-are-disappointed-so-far-ango-abdullahi/ |
