However Akeredolu did not show up and no reasons was given for his absence.

Security men attached to the factional candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), Barrister Jimoh Ibrahim on Monday, allegedly opened fire on the campaign office of Eyitayo Jegede (SAN) along Ijapo Road in Akure, the Ondo State capital.

The sporadic shooting that lasted for over 10 minutes, according to the media aide to Jegede, Mr. Kayode Fasua, led to the injury of no fewer than 10 people.

Fasua alleged that , Ibrahim and his over 30 vehicles convoy stopped at the campaign office, in the afternoon of Monday, shooting sporadically direct at the building.


But a member of Jimoh Ibrahim Campaign Committee, Hon. Demola Ijabiyi denied the allegations.

Ijabiyi said the security men only shot into the air to prevent the convoy of Ibrahim from being attacked by the sympathisers of Jegede.

Meanwhile, the Ahmed Makarfi led People’s Democratic party (PDP) in the state has called on the Federal government, to as a matter of urgency, withdraw the security escorts deployed to Mr.Jimoh Ibrahim following a shooting spree by him and his police escort at the campaign office of Mr Eyitayo Jegede (SAN) .

In a statement issued by the Director of Publicity, Mr Ayo Fadaka , the party said it “note with absolute dismay the disorderly conduct of Jimoh Ibrahim who led a detachment of Police to Eyitayo Jegede’s Campaign Office this morning on a shooting spree”.

The party said Jimoh’s action” is not only criminal but an absolute abuse of an unmerited privilege conferred on him through the deployment of security escorts to him by the Federal Government” and thus declared the action as a” further infringement of the fundamental rights of Mr Eyitayo Jegede whose mandate to fly the flag of the Party, he blatantly stole and also a flagrant invasion of his privacy.”

While raising the alarm over what it described as the “thuggish attitude of this fellow in conjunction with those personnel that accompanied him”, described the most unethical action that a man who aspires to the office of the Governor of Ondo State has ever taken” .

The party said ” The PDP has been provoked beyond measure and as such wish to let the Presidency know that Jimoh Ibrahim has taken a giant leap to compromise the peace of our State.”

The party also demands that since Jimoh has abuse the privilege of security escorts placed at his disposal, “Government as a matter of compulsion must withdraw that privilege from him immediately so that the lives of our citizens are safe and protected from maniacal attack of any man.”

The Governorship Candidate Hopeful of the PDP in the forth coming Gubernitorial Election of Ondo State.

Yesterday while coming back from Abuja made a suprise stop-over at Isua, Oka, Owo on His way to Akure with a warm receptions from the people of the town who troop out to welcome Him.

He is Currently in a strategic meeting with the PDPOndo Stakeholders at the International Event Centre (THE DOME) Akure, on what has been transpired at the Appeal court in Abuja and the way-forward.

At the meeting While addressing the Audience said:

1. We are highly elated with the reception we had from our people while coming from Abuja yesterday. It shows we are steadfast.

2. As long as God lives, we will contest November 26 election and win. This is God's own project.

3. Who is with us is greater than those with them. If it's only two days to election, we will come out victorious.

4. Some people are only trying to interfere with d choice of Ondo people. I can assure you that as God lives, we shall be victorious

5. Our Lord that has been with us will perfect His work. I want you to remain steadfast, God is with us. We are winning.

6. They tried all means to frustrate the court , called the panel of judges names but God defeated them. ------(Eyitayo Jegede)

He encourage the stakeholders and challenge them to go all out and continue with their mobilization, saying their shall be victory come November 26 by the Grace of God
