Politics › Re: Stop Being Unfair, I Never Betrayed Anyone! by engineerboat(m): 4:10pm On Oct 27, 2015 |
TonyeBarcanista: I write this from the depth of my heart to all those that have been making false and baseless remarks about me of recent times. I have to set record straight.
1. I Never Betrayed APC I have to state this on clear terms that I have neither betrayed any party at ANY time. When I left APC for PDP, I never betrayed any APC supporters as I exercised by inalienable right to association. Though my decision as at then may disappoint some of my ex-comrades(which is understandable) but it was NEVER a betrayal. I never took any blood oath with anyone in APC nor sign any MoU never to leave APC. It was clearly a right that I exercised.
2. I Never Betrayed Any Ethnic Group I am 100% Ijaw and has always been irrespective of party affiliation. As an Ijaw and a Niger Deltan, I aired my view and put record straight on issues of some territories in our region. I never at any time cede any of the territories in question to Igbo, Hausa or Yoruba areas. I never abused any ethnic group while expressing my position. I never opposed ANY Biafran aspiration but only expressed the interest and position of our people. I never maligned any person or group in the process.
3. I Never Betrayed PDP I am 100% committed to PDP for the sake of a better society. That I support PDP is politics, but when it comes to tribal, ethnic and regional interests, I have to drop partisanship and address issue from that aspect. When I supported Buhari, I never ceded Ijawland to fulani. That I am supporting Wike is not the same as saying that Ikwerre own Okrika. Same way should my position on ethnic issues be not misinterpreted as anti-PDP. I am not a bastard, I am from a tribe and region. PDP is a party for every Nigerian, it shouldn't be a yardstick for tribal measurement. It is absurd to assume that because I have a position that is unpopular with some fellow pro-PDP means I am anti-PDP. That's nonsense.
4. I Never Promoted Bad Blood Among Regions To say that I'm causing bad blood between SS and SE just because I maintained a position as a SS man is laughable. The same people peddling these accusations have been on threads abusing Ijaws, Edos, and some other ND people. Some even called us drunken fishermen(#ProudlyFisherman). How can these people turn around to accuse me when I never insulted their tribe and region? I dare them to point that out if they insist otherwise. In same vein I never promoted hate against the North or SW. I always try to respect people and their ancestry.
4. I Don't Yield To Blackmails It is very funny that some people won't correct some of their friends for making baseless claims but will always be quick to call me names when I lay facts to bear even without insults. These people expects me to "shut up" for their sake but won't tell their friends same for starting the whole thing. Let me state that I'm not moved but only disappointed that this set of people arrive at such judgement.
I want to appeal to people to ask me question on clarification on any subject. I am not here for fight. I will not betray PDP, neither will I betray my South South people and Nigerians as a whole. You may disagree with my position on issues, you may feel disappointed that I don't align with your views on political or territorial matters. But always remember that I'm not here to spite anybody or group. It is unfair to lay baseless accusation against me.
I appreciate and thank those that understand my true intention.
May God Bless Us All and Nigeria. My brother just like Cheif Ebenzar Obey will sing " Ko sogbon to le da, ko siwa to le, ko sona to le gba, tole fi taye lorun ooo" leave those haters alone abeg, let face the Nigeria issue on ground, those noise are unneccessary distractions, they know what they are doing just to cause distraction and loss of focus. Remember, where they started from when you come back to the fold, the lenght they go then. they are coming back to where the left it then as new election period is coming now, and since they cannot get back at the comment they use to make noise then, what is left for them now is to result to another form blackmail and propaganda. |

Goodboiyy: Have bee following Barcanista post for a while now, And how some people keep calling him names , let me put the record straight.
1. Barcanista never Betrayed Anyone: This is what is trending now on this forum, Barcanista never betrayed you. he never entered any agreement with any group/Tribe regarding Ijaw been part of Your new acclaimed country in exchange for the support you gave to GEJ, people should learn how to separate politics from ethnicity.. What do you Expect ? Should he please You and displease his people (Ijaw) ?
2. Stop Using GEJ as an excuse: We all know that you supported GEJ, But that should not be used to blackmail barcanista, your support for GEJ was not because of the genuine Love you have for SS but because of the Hatred you have for Hausa/Yoruba, So GEJ was the Only Option left, If Osinbajo was to be an Igbo man would you have voted GEJ ?
3. SS will support any Igbo President: If tomorrow an Igbo man contest for the post of Presidency/V.Presidency , Igbo should count on SS because we will give him our 80% vote, but this should not be equated with Our land be taken/Renamed just for the sake of friendship (This is what Tonyebarcanista was saying), SS never entered any agreement with any body regarding our territory been taken into another Country, We are Nigerians and if this country should disintegrate then let everybody go there seperate way, Don't call us Names because we didn't support you.
God Bless Nigeria God Bless You Correct jare, shey na by force always quick to shout betrayer, betrayer, betrayer without thinking on what is on ground |

What about the below:
Alleged N15m Bribe: Yobe Election Tribunal Admits EFCC’s Evidence Against REC
It would be recalled that the tribunal, admitted, as exhibit, another report issued by the Financial and Economic Crimes Commission (EFCC), on the N15 million bribery allegation against the Yobe State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC).
A witness from the EFCC, Mr. Emmanuel Aremo , who tendered the report said he was an investigation officer, who probed the matter.
Two senior personnel of two new generation banks had testified before the tribunal, on the lodgment of N8million and N7million into the accounts on April 8, 2015.
Umar Alkali, the Operations Manager of the Damaturu Branch of one of the banks admitted some of the documents and bank statements of accounts and tellers that the money was paid.
If Buhary will not investigate this allegation of bribery, all his action(s) on election malpractices would be term fraudulent.

Politics › Re: The Era Of "Prosecute Your Own Thief, Leave Mine For Me" by engineerboat(m): 4:35pm On Oct 21, 2015 |
TonyeBarcanista: Nigeria is a very unique country with her way of doing things. We all agree that corruption is one of the biggest clog in the wheel of our progress. We all complain on how elected and appointed politicians and civil servants steal our common wealth. It is a consensus that billions of dollars borrowed on "our behalf" by people on authorities at all levels. Despite all these, we have degenerated into the level of "investigate, arrest and prosecute your own thief but leave mine alone". How did we get this low?
Olusegun Obasanjo Era: "Well Done Sir Bur Prosecute Them All" Before the return of democracy in 1999, corruption was like a norm in Nigeria. It denied Nigerians social amenities and put the masses in abject poverty. The coming of EFCC and ICPC to try corruption, bribery and other economic crimes in 2003 brought a sigh of relief to Nigerians. Nigerians always celebrate whenever a BIG fish is arrested by former EFCC Chairman Mallam Nuhu Ribadu. Among the top shots that fell to EFCC/ICPC hammer are exMinister Fabian Osuji, ex-Senate President Adolphus Wabara, ex-IGP Tafa Balogun, ex-Gov late Diepreye Alamesiegha, several senators etc. In addition, major top-shots like ex-VP Atiku Abubakar, ex-Chairman of NPA Olabode George(who as at that time was the PDP Deputy National Chairman, South), 33 state governors etc were indicted by the EFCC under the Obasanjo administration. Not even the excuse of Alhaji Garba Shehu, the spokesman for Atiku Abubakar's accusation that the old Ota farmer was getting back at Atiku and other 'perceived' enemies because of the failed third term bid could sail through. Neither did Nigerians take any sermon of political 'witch-hunt' as valid defence. We all wanted people to be brought to book.
Though Nigerians commended Obasanjo's fight, the accusation of selective prosecution was prominent in the socio-political space. Specifically, Obasanjo repeatedly shielded Olabode George from prosecution despite the indictment against him since 2003. The song on the lips of Nigerians was "well done sir but prosecute them all"
Umaru Yar'adua Era: "Stop shielding corrupt elite, prosecute them all" When Yar'adua took over office, he was expected to allow the EFCC prosecute the outgoing Vice President Atiku Abubakar and all corrupt governors that were indicted while in office having lost their immunity. Alas, Yar'adua introduced the 'plea bargain' that allows a man that steals billions to bargain and surrender a few millions in exchange. For instance, ex-Edo state Governor Lucky Nosakhare Igbenedion was indicted by Ribadu-led EFCC of looting $24million of Edo state fund, he was convicted by court under plea bargain and was asked to pay a meagre N3.5million. Yar'adua also appointed Michael Aandooaka, the defence counsel to James Ibori, George Akume etc as Attorney-General of the Federation. The administration moved to remove Mallam Nuhu Ribadu from his position as EFCC boss and whittled down the prosecution powers of EFCC, ICPC and CCB. Nigerians wailed and cried that corruption is being rewarded while anti-corruption punished. Yar'adua also nominated and appointed Senator Adamu Aliero, a former governor of Kebbi state and then serving senator as FCT minister. Aliero was earlier indicted by the EFCC for corruption. Our call through out the administration was "Stop shielding corrupt elite, prosecute them all"
Goodluck Jonathan Era: "Stop Institutionalising Corruption" Although, credit to Jonathan that he was keen on separating the Yams from the Goats(according to his famous Goat and Yam theory). He signed the Freedom of Information bill into law, introduced policies that encourage transparency, but he failed to pursue cases against 'Goats' that ate 'yams' before and during his administration, especially his appointees. Those that were indicted in subsidy investigation and those that focused their attention on public resources were given freehand. For instance, Abdulrasheed Maina, was appointed as Chairman of Presidential Task Force on Pension Reform was indicted by the Senate over allegation that he looted N193billion of pensioners money, yet it took consistent wailing from Nigerians before Jonathan bothered to remove him from office. He wasn't prosecuted. Similar case was that of Stella Oduah who was indicted for N260million car saga. Though we have to credit Jonathan's government for indicting Sule Lamido and Murtala Nyako. Under Jonathan, corruption technically became 'Institutionalised'. Nigerians cry became "stop institutionalising corruption"
Muhammadu Buhari Era: "Prosecute Your Own Thief, Leave Mine For Me" Buhari was elected on the platform of change mantra. Apart from the usual "Sai Baba" crew, there are people that thumb-printed for Buhari and APC did so on the premise of fighting corruption. Just two days on taking office, Buhari government withdrew the ongoing corruption case against Timpre Sylva and now rewarded him with party ticket for Bayelsa election. Pa Audu Abubakar only recently promised to return the monies he stole when he was in government. The EFCC has deliberately refused to work on the petitions against ex-Govs Rotimi Amaechi, Raji Fashola etc. In fact, the infamous N78million for 'website' and N128million appropriated just for TWO boreholes by Raji Fashola is being treated with levity. We all know that CONTRACT INFLATION is a crime according to EFCC Act. In fact, one of the charges against Olabode George was contract inflation. Despite his glaring hypocrisy, the President must be credited for the ongoing prosecution of Senator Bukola Saraki and the invitation of some ex-governors by the EFCC. Unlike during the Obasanjo era when people celebrate when someone is arrested for financial crimes, this era people first check the name of who's arrested, his party and then decide whether or not to shout 'Sai Baba' or to cry 'witch hunt'. In fact, APC fans will justify rewarding their corrupt chieftains with federal appointments. Some PDP fans and Chieftains will cry dictatorship and witch-hunt when the axe falls on PDP Chieftains irrespective of the merit of the case. It is now a talk of "prosecute your own thief but leave mine alone".
It is shameful and unpatriotic that people no longer pay heed to the financial crimes of officials. They forget that there is no honor in trying to shield the same people that looted our common wealth from facing their crimes. It is more disappointing that the Buhari-led administration is leading the charge in this new trend of prosecute their thieves but reward our own.
May God Bless Us All And Bless Nigeria You no seem am soooo, People tends to jump to comment without taking a cursory look at what is going on, I believe that prosecution of thief should be complete and total because, "Oju afo ifotan, ija ni da sile" One blind eye man na wahala him dey bring oooh. #Allthief must be prosecuted wheither PDP or APC, that should be the case, not "FORGET ABOUT HIS CORRUPTION (STEALING) but consider his capability and antecedent. Nigeria shall be great. |
