kodded: passingshit how market na ? Weting passingshot wan say, passingshot is speechless now, on this note because he has not explanation for 1. current lingering fuel scarcity 2. current epileptic power outage and supply. I therefore put it to you passingshot, to explain the current situation and your shambolic assumptions below. PassingShot: 4. Serious Undergoing Efforts to Recover Our Stolen Money: FIGHT AGAINST CORRUPTION Before now, the mantra was "stealing is not corruption". Now it is "Stealing Is Now Corruption" and all treasury looters have started feeling the heat.
Apart from efforts being made locally in this regard, it was the other major reason the president was invited to USA. Despite what the wailers will have us believe, PMB himself has recently said that he has received from USA, some documents that will assist Nigeria in tracking and recovering our stolen money from the looters. Read it here please http://www.punchng.com/news/us-gave-buhari-names-of-oil-thieves-source/ .
Similar efforts are being coordinated with UK, Switzerland, France and others. Read here also http://www.punchng.com/news/buhari-traces-looted-funds-to-uk-switzerland-others/
Is it not then an absurdity to read many wailers shouting blue murder whenever we read that EFCC or DSS invites some treasury thieves for questioning? It is absurd because every sane person knows that PMB/VPYO campaigned on the three main cardinal points of ending insurgency, fighting corruption and improving the economy. So, if he fails to go after those who have stolen their future and that of their unborn generations, will the president be deemed successful in his campaign promise?
5. Refineries now Working: I know many including some PMB supporters will be quick to point me to the president statement that he didn't do anything to make the refineries work. That is another sterling quality of the president but wait, I have some pertinent questions for you.
* Did NNPC/GEJ not tell us in Feb 2015 that N99bn was needed by Nigerian engineers to fix the refineries or not as contained here? http://www.punchng.com/business/business-economy/nigerian-engineers-to-repair-refineries-for-n99bn-nnpc/
* Did NNPC and GEJ's team not tell us in March of this year that $550 million was needed to fix the refinery or not? give us as contained here? http://thenationonlineng.net/new/nnpc-to-repair-refineries-with-550m/
* On March 6, 2015 (before the election), did GEJ/NNPC not tell us that refineries will not work before 2016 or not? http://nationalmirroronline.net/new/refineriesll-be-back-on-stream-2016-nnpc/
There is no report anywhere that any of the requested sums was paid by the FG to NNPC, yet the refineries have started working!
The fact remains that, had GEJ won the election, the refineries would not have worked, even in 2016. We traveled that deceitful routes with jonathan many times before.
The fact that PMB is known to be on a mission on corruption; with NNPC the number one priority, is what has made NNPC to quickly put its acts together and bring the refineries on board.
Btw, I already did a comprehensive thread on this here https://www.nairaland.com/2392387/buhari-not-jonathan-responsible-refineries
6. Improved Electricity: Only the bigots will deny the fact that electricity has improved compared to GEJ's era. The miracle we're witnessing here is similar to what is happening with refineries. The Transmission Company of Nigeria has continued to achieve one peak or the other since the coming of PMB. Is it another coincidence? No, it is not.
Through FG's efforts, there have been improvement in gas supply to the generating stations. These generating stations have been there since GEJ's era, how come they couldn't get gas supply despite government granting suppliers various loans? The answer is that the suppliers and some PHCN big wigs connive to elope with the loans while keeping Nigerians in darkness. But with a new Sheriff in town, they dare not try the same nonsense. End of story. https://www.nairaland.com/2487750/again-tcn-records-new-power#36402389
7. Nigeria Image Boosted: I don't think I need to say much here as comments from notable citizens and international figures are a testament to this fact. Even, PDP has been somehow forced to eat the humble pie when they declared that "Buhari is the only clean man in APC". To many of us, this is a huge difference between the two parties. After all, PMB/VPYO are the representatives of the change we fought for.
To attempt to put things into perspective, take a good look at the Nigeria PMB inherited from the Otuoke man.
God Bless Nairaland God Bless Patriotic Nigerians God Bless PMB/VPYO God Bless Nigeria |

TonyeBarcanista: The portfolios assigned to ministers yesterday only confirmed the fears that some of us have that Buhari appears to have a hidden agenda. In case you are not aware, be informed that President Buhari has finally moved ALL the security apparatus to the North, including the Defence and Interior/Police Affairs ministries without a space for anybody from the south. In the FG's cabinet, there are basically THREE portfolio that are responsible for security. The three are; Defence, Interior and Police Affairs. Traditionally, the Defence ministry comes with two positions(a substantive minister and minister of state). If the substantive minister is from the north, the junior minister will always come from the south. The Interior ministry and Police Affairs ministry is also shared between the south and the north at the discretion of the President. In the event that both ministries are merged, then the region that doesn't produce the Defence Minister get the Interior minister. President Olusegun Obasanjo Era During Obasanjo's era, his Defence minister in his first tenure was General TY Danjuma(Taraba/North), his Defence Minister(State) was Mrs Dupe Adelaja. In his second tenure, his Defence Minister was Rabiu Kwankwaso(Kano/North), with Roland Oritsejafor (Delta/South) and later Thomas Ironsi(South) as State Defence minister.
In the Interior Ministry was Sunday Afolabi from Osun state/South(1999-2003).
Obasanjo would later split the Police Affairs Ministry from Interior Ministry. He appointed Southerner Broderick Bozimo(Delta) as Police Affairs Minister(2003-January 2007). He left the Interior Ministry for the North (Muhammed Shatta, Iyorcha Ayu and Muhammed Magaji).
A Northerner (Gen Aliyu Gusau/Zamfara) was his National Security Adviser.
President Musa Yar'adua Era In Yaradua's Tenure, his Defence Minister was Yahale Ahmed(Bauchi/North) and later Dr Shetimma Mustapha(North) with Demola Seriki(Lagos/South) as Minister of State For Defence. His Interior Minister was Major General Godwin Abbe(Edo/South). Yaradua, would later move Abbe to Defence Ministry(2009) while Dr Shetimma Mustafa moved to interior. The Police Affairs Ministry however remained in the North(Dr Lame).
His National security Adviser was Abdulahi Muktar(Kano)
President Ebele Jonathan's Era Under Jonathan, his Defence Ministers Hadiru Bello and Aliyu Gasau were Northerners. To maintain balance, he had Erelu Obada(Osun/South) and Musliu Obanikoro(Lagos/South) as his Minister of State for Defence for Bello and Gusau respectively. His Interior Minister was also from the North(Abba Moro/Benue) but he left Police Affairs Minister in the South; Navy Captain Caleb Olubode(Ekiti) and Jelili Adesanyan.
His NSA were late Andrew Azaz (Bayelsa/Southi) and Sambo Dasuki (Sokoto/North)
President Buhari Moved ALL To North Buhari however FAILED to recognise this balance in sharing of security cabinet portfolios. After merging the Police Affairs with the Interior Ministry, one naturally expect the South to get either the Interior or Defence Ministry. But Buhari pushed both Ministries to the North with Alhaji Dan Ali(Zamfara/North West) and Abdulramman Dambazau(Kano/North West) assigned to Defence and Interior(Police Affairs + Interior) ministries respectively. More troublesome is the fact that there are no positions for Minister of State for both ministries.
As it stands, we have NO Southerner in any of the security decision making cabinet organ under this APC Buhari administion. Let me explain;
The Office of National Security Adviser is in charge of DSS, NIA, DMI etc. It is occupied by Gen Muguno(North East)
The Minister of Defence oversees the Armed Forces(Army, Navy and Airforce). It is occupied by Alhaji Ali(Zamfara/North West)
The Interior minister oversees the Police Force, NSCDC, Prison Service, Immigration, Fire Service ane every other paramilitary services. It is occupied by Abdulrahman Dambazau(Kano/North West)
All three positions are domiciled in the North(2 NW and 1 NE) with no space for the South. Not even Minister of state/"Deputy" was kept for the South.
The action of Buhari-led APC government to marginalise the South from the security scheme of things in Nigeria is the height of unpatriotism, sectionalism, and should be condemned by all lovers of unity and Nigeria.
May God Bless Us All and Bless Nigeria You will see as people begin to attack the Messenger neglecting the message, |

Politics › Re: Taraba Judgement: What Is Good For Taraba State Should Be Good For Benue State by engineerboat(m): 10:22am On Nov 08, 2015 |
TonyeBarcanista: Just yesterday, the Taraba state governorship election petition tribunal that sat in Abuja nullified the election of Governor Ishaku Darius of the PDP in favor of Hajia Aisha Alhassan of APC. The decision was based on the ground that Architect Ishaku Darius was not validly nominated by the PDP in contravention of Sections 78, 85 and 87 of the Electoral Act(EA 2010). Specifically, the tribunal held that the PDP never had legal candidate for the Taraba poll.
If we are to go by the judgement, then it will be fair for the Benue state election tribunal to nullify the election of Governor Samuel Orthom of APC because his nomination contravened S 78(b)(1)(2), 85(1) and 85(2) of the Electoral Act as well.
Governor Orthom's Illegitimate Nomination: According to INEC's timetable for 2015 General election, primary election of candidate was slated for October 2 and December 11, 2014.
The APC Governorship primary election for Benue state was originally slated for December 4/5 2014, but it wasn't held. It was again shifted to December 11, 2014(deadline) but NO primary election was held on the said day. No report that any delegate participated in ANY primary election on that day. The party 'elders' settled for a consensus candidate before the midnight of the day. Even the pro-APC Nations Newspaper reported that;
"Chief Ortom emerged after other governorship aspirants stepped down for him at the end of a close door meeting brokered by the senate minority leader, Senator George Akume, in Makurdi." www.thenationonlineng.net/benue-apc-settles-ortom-governorship-candidate/
In fact, the five other APC aspirants including, Emmanuel Jime, Mike Iordye, Akange Audu, Sen Joseph Waku and Prof Steve Ugbah released a statement on December 12, 2014 to REJECT the arrangement of the so-called party elders in Benue state (see here www.leadership.ng/news/394871/benue-apc-primaries-5-guber-aspirants-reject-ortom).
Further more, INEC was NOT present at the dead of the night to witness the illegitimate arrangement that was held inside somebody's parlour. Let us no forget that Goodluck Jonathan though a PDP consensus candidate, went through formal primaries to fulfill the Electoral Act.
APC Has No Legal Gubernatorial Candidate For Benue state: Going by the above, the arrangement that brought Samuel Orthom as the APC candidate for Benue state governorship election contravenes sections 78(b)(1)(2) and85(1)(2) of the Electoral Act 2010. Section 78 (b) (1)(2) of the Electoral Act states: In the case of nomination to the position of Governorship candidate, a political party shall where they intend to sponsor candidates:
(i) hold special congress in each of the Local Government Areas of the States with delegates voting for each of the aspirants at the congress to be held in designated centres on specified dates.
(ii) the aspirant with the highest number of vote at the end of the voting shall be declared the winner of the primaries of the party and aspirant’s name shall be forwarded to the commission as the candidate of the party, for the particular state.
The arrangement that brought Orthom never met the above condition. Hence, the APC technically has no candidate for Benue state governorship election 2015. There is no record that APC Benue delegates endorsed Samuel Orthom as candidate through voice votes or ballot box. There is also no record that INEC witnessed any Benue APC governorship primary election on or before December 11, 2014 which is in contravento to S85 of the Electoral Act.
The PDP candidate Terhemen Tarzor should have been declared as the legitimate winner of the election by INEC and the Tribunal.
INEC's and Judicial Glaring Hypocrisy: The position of INEC on Taraba and Benue states reeks double standard. While they testified that they never witnessed ANY primary legitimate PDP primary for Taraba state governorship contest, the FAILED to testify same for Benue state. This issue though part of PDP's petition, must be seriously pursued by the PDP at the Court of Appeal to reclaim Benue state to the people.
The Petition tribunal in Benue state unfortunately dismissed the issue on "technical" ground in the rulling on September 21, 2015 in order to keep Orthom in power. This is double standard from the Judiciary. You can't nullify A and Uphold B when they bother on the same matter. I'm optimistic that the Court of Appeal will upturn the verdict.
What is good for Taraba should be good for Benue.!!!
May God Bless Us All and Bless Nigeria Patiently waiting for the HIGHER court of Juridiction ruling and interpretation on this matter, but for now we will continue to shout until justice is done to all this pending cases and then we will finally know the path APC is threading in this tenure. For now Ishiaku, Wike, Emmanuel Udom remians the Governor (APC CHANGErians chill, rejoice not) Patriotic Nigeria, this government and its party is all out on a written script |

“Good morning everyone. Recent developments have necessitated a subtle change in the handling of my communications channel," he tweeted on Friday.
“The exit of my aide @MrFixNigeria from my party means that this account is no longer managed by him – it is a task he performed well.
“I wish him well in both his personal and political future and hope that @tessloconcepts will continue to make sharp suits for me.
“The future of PDP lies with our youths who have what it takes, not only to be at the helms of affairs with us, but also away from it.
“As I take a break from 16 years of almost unbroken service to both State and Country and to apply myself to further education, I’m encouraged that the spirit of Nationalism & Patriotism which I helped ignite in our youths (partisan or non) will never die.
“The mantles of Nationalism and Patriotism to Nigeria must be worn at all times by all of us and especially the youths of our country. I condole with @PrinceEbeano on the recent fire disaster to his business and pray that he will bounce back fast, higher and stronger.
“Kudos to all who support PDP on twitter and all social media platforms – let’s keep our engagement patriotic and decent at all times. I’m always excited to have constructive and engaging conversations about the way forward for our nation and of course Lagos. I therefore look forward to continuous positive interactions with everyone both here on twitter and also on facebook.

Do they ever consider some of these facts: - AFCON are played by our senior players,we have played in 7 AFCON finals, isn't that an achievement by our senior boys? - The last AFCON that we won,80/90% of the players came through from our U-17/U-20/U-23 teams. - Omeruo,Onazi,Mikel,Mba,(from U-17), Echiejile,Efe,Ideye,Musa (from U-20) Only Enyeama,Emenike,Obobona and IK Uche didn't play age grade competitions before playing for SE. - The last but not the list, the greatest player that Nigeria has ever produced(KANU) came through right from U-17, Are these not achievements and benefits from the age grade completions? What about some countries that are yet to win anything for the past 30 years with their senior or junior. There is nothing that can be done to please some people. Go Eaglets, just bring back the trophy, that's all that matters. That goes to show to you the type of people breeding up in this country with a anti-clockwise mindset.
