Appeal Court suspends Oshiomole as APC National chairman

A court of Appeal in Abuja has upheld the suspension of Adams Oshiomole as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

On Tuesday, a 3-man panel led by the President of the court of appeal, Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem announced that that Oshiomole’s appeal to his suspension is ‘Unmeritorious’. The judgement is coming a few hours after Edo state governor, Godwin Obaseki and his deputy, Philip Shuaibu resigned from the party.

POLITICS NIGERIA earlier reported that an FCT high court granted an application filed by some members of the Edo state APC suspending Oshiomole from office on March 4th.

It will be recalled that Obaseki was disqualified from contesting the party’s primaries by a screening committee over discrepancies in his HSC and NYSC certificate.

It is largely believed that his disqualification was influenced by Oshiomole, who is his predecessor in office. Both politicians have been at loggerheads for some time now.
