BREAKING: Second Niger Bridge, Lagos-Ibadan, Abuja-Kaduna Roads can't be completed under Buhari ― Reps

The House of Representatives Committee on Works, on Thursday, declared that with the amount of sleaze involved in the handling of the Second Niger Bridge, the Lagos-Ibadan and the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano road projects, it will be impossible for them to be completed and commissioned by the President Muhammadu Buhari administration.

Besides, the legislators also described Julius Berger plc, as incapable of handling the three projects; they suggested that the road projects be split and shared to other controls to guarantee speedy completion, as they accused the company of submitting doctored documents claiming work done on the projects.

The Chairman of the Committee, Rep Abubakar Kabir (APC-Kano), made the disclosure yesterday at the National Assembly Complex, after receiving the submission of the contractor, Julius Berger on the three projects.

“At the rate at which the slow pace of working is going on, there is no way that President Buhari will commission 2nd Niger Bridge, Lagos-Ibadan Express Way, Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kani road, during his tenure”, Rep. Kabir submitted.

The lawmakers who took turns at the opening of the enquiry to lambaste the construction giant for failing to speed up the projects, even after collecting N200 billion from government, the company was slow in handling the key contracts.

“Despite collecting more than N200 billion, Julius Berger is still yet to do substantial work on the projects”, Kabir said, adding that ” The documents presented (By Julius Berger) at the hearing, are fake”.

The Chairman of the Committee noted that “We are recommending that these projects should be split and awarded to other companies because we don’t think Julius Berger alone, can’t handle them”.

The 2nd Niger Bridge, was awarded for N206,151,693billion, the Kaduna-Abuja Road, was awarded for N155billion, while the 1st section of the Lagos-Ibadan road was awarded for N134billion.

The lawmakers also vowed to prevent any interested party from relooting the Abacha Loot, earmarked for the projects by the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

“The efforts of the Federal Government of Nigeria to secure the Abacha looted money, is well-documented, the government has said the money will be used on these critical projects, we will not allow the money to be relooted through inefficiency and corruption.”

According to him, “We cannot sit by and ignore the plight of Nigerians suffering daily on these roads, we will not allow the efforts of the President to deliver these projects to Nigerians, be in vain.”

The House’ enquiry on the three critical projects, followed a resolution of the House 27th February 2020 mandating its Committee on Works, to investigate the work done on the 2nd Niger Bridge and the two other road projects, awarded under the Presidential Infrastructure Development Fund (PIDF).

We Don’t Want Him APC Ondo state aspirants reject the choice of Yahaya Bello led Primary Committee say they want someone else

FEAR gripped governorship aspirants in the All Progressive Congress in Ondo state as the national leadership of the party unveiled the Primary Election Committee headed by the Kogi state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello.

Aside from this, the aspirants are at a loss as the National Secretariat of the party was yet to officially announce the mode of the primary to be adopted, 72 hours to the election.

The National Secretariat of the party through its deputy national publicity secretary, Yekini Nabena on Thursday had instead announced the committee members to conduct the next week Monday governorship primary election.

Vanguard gathered that aspirants of the party who belong to the Unity Group of the party have expressed deep concern over the choice of Yahaya Bello as the chairman of the election committee.

The eleven aspirants of the party had for the last one week expressed their displeasure over the indirect mode of primary and have even petitioned the Governor Mai Mala Buni-led Caretaker/Extra-ordinary National Convention Planning Committee kicking against the adoption of indirect primary for the next Monday election

They have also organised a protest in the state capital insisting that they will boycott the primary if indirect mode of primary was adopted.

Vanguard findings indicated that immediately the committee members were announced, the political camp of the other aspirants outside Akeredolu were thrown into confusion as a close ally of the governor was named its chairman.

Speaking with newsmen in confidence, two of the aspirants said the election had been rigged for Akeredolu even before the teal contest on Monday.

One of them said that ” the choice of Bello as head of the panel was not good for those who are opposed to the return of Governor Akeredolu.

According to him, “the development is a major set back for him and others.

He, however, said the “the leadership of the Unity Forum would meet before Sunday to harmonise their interests.

This is a clear answer to the question of manipulation that has been perpetrated by the caretaker committee at the national level. We all know what they have planned but it is most unfortunate.

“Everyone knows how close both Akeredolu and Yahaya Bello are. Akeredolu was his lawyer during the period of the Governor’s travail and we all know what Yahaya Bello and his team came to do here in 2016.

“So it is very clear where they are heading but it is frustrating that they will take us this path after all assurances. Painfully, it does appear the national Caretaker Committee is still doing the bidding of the former chairman.

“We have credible evidence that this Committee had been put in place since the June by the former chairman and this committee didn’t change it at all. It then means that even the issue of the mode will go same way because Oshiomhole had already submitted that before he left.

“We cannot run away from this reality because it is already too late. The leadership of the Unity Forum is likely to meet before Sunday to ensure we prune down our numbers to a manageable level where one will be strong enough to face the battle,” he said.

Contacted, Rotimi Ogunleye, the media aide to one of the aspirants, Chief Olusola Oke said they have not seen the list of the election committee and would not want to comment on what was read on the social media.

Meanwhile, Governor Akeredolu yesterday met with delegates in the central senatorial district of the state.

Akeredolu was accompanied by the Minister of State for Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Donald Tayo Alasoadura , the immediate past President of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) Dr. Dayo Faduyile and other leaders of the party in the state to the six local government areas in the central senatorial district.

He sought the support and votes of the delegates in the primary election and assured them of more dividends of democracy and of good governance.

Court orders EFCC to return Saraki’s houses


The Federal High Court in Lagos on Thursday reversed its order forfeiting to the Federal Government two houses in Ilorin belonging to a former Senate President, Bukola Saraki.

The court, in a judgment by Justice Rilwan Aikawa, released the houses back to Saraki, while delivering judgment on an application by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, seeking to permanently forfeit the houses to the Federal Government.

The EFCC had in December last year secured a court order for the interim forfeiture of the houses – Plots No. 10 and No. 11 Abdulkadir Road, GRA, Ilorin, Kwara State – after telling the court that they were acquired with proceeds of unlawful activities allegedly perpetrated by Saraki while he was Kwara State Governor between 2003 and 2011.

But attempts by the EFCC to convert the temporary forfeiture order to a permanent forfeiture order was vehemently resisted by Saraki, leading eventually to the discharge of the temporary forfeiture order on Thursday by Justice Aikawa.

The judge said he found no sufficient basis in the EFCC application and he could not “find my way through” to grant the permanent forfeiture order.

In its application, the EFCC had told the court how it received and investigated “a damning intelligence report, showing monumental fraud perpetrated in the treasury of the Kwara State Government between 2003 and 2011,” when Saraki was the governor of the state.

An operative of the EFCC, Olamide Sadiq said, “Whilst investigation was ongoing several fraudulent transactions were discovered.

“I know for a fact and verily believe that our investigation has revealed the following mind-boggling findings, among others:


“That between 2003 and 2011, Dr Olubukola Abubakar Saraki was the Executive Governor of Kwara State.

“That whilst he held the aforementioned position, the common pattern was that after payment of monthly allocation by the Federal Government to the Kwara State Government, a cumulative sum of not less than N100m will be deposited into the Kwara Government House account.

“That upon the payment of the said N100m, same will, in turn, be withdrawn in cash by one Mr Afeez Yusuf from the Kwara State Government House, Ilorin’s account in bits and brought to the Government House.”

The Court therefore ordered the Economic and financial crimes commission to return the former senate President’s houses.

Justice Rilwan Aikawa, who released the houses to Saraki, said he was not satisfied with the claims of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) as to the origin of the properties.

The judge said he found insufficient basis in the EFCC application and he could not “find my way through” to grant the permanent forfeiture order.

Last December, Aikawa granted an order for the interim forfeiture of the houses – Plots No. 10 and No. 11 Abdulkadir Road, GRA, Ilorin, Kwara State – following the EFCC’s ex-parte application.

The anti-graft agency had claimed Saraki acquired the properties with proceeds of “monumental fraud perpetrated in the treasury of the Kwara State Government between 2003 and 2011,” when he was Governor.

“…Whilst he (Saraki) held the aforementioned position, the common pattern was that after payment of monthly allocation by the Federal Government to the Kwara State Government, a cumulative sum of not less than N100m will be deposited into the Kwara Government House account.

But the former lawmaker resisted the application and contented among others that the EFCC’s lawsuit was malicious.

Saraki’s counsel, Kehinde Ogunwumiju (SAN), also described the EFCC suit as an abuse of court process and an attempt to scandalise him.

He argued it was a ploy by the EFCC to review the July 6, 2018 decision of the Supreme Court “discharging the applicant from culpability arising from the same money and houses which are the subject matter of this action.”

Ondo APC delegates reject rogues status

Some delegates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State have said they are ready to show some of the governorship aspirants that they are ‘truly rogues’ at the July 20 governorship primary election.

The delegates, who declared war on the aspirants for calling them rogues and untrusted party people, said many of the aspirants were not in the APC when its structure was formed.


Some aspirants, who kicked against the use of indirect mode of primaries for the Ondo APC primary, said they could trust the party delegates if the indirect mode was finally adopted.

They described the party delegates as ‘rogues’, who were ready to milk them dry.

But some of the delegates, in a statement issued in Akure and signed by Yemi Akinwande (Central), Muyiwa Olakunle (North) and Ayenuro James (South), said they were ready to show the aspirants that they were ‘truly rogues’.

They said some aspirants could still be swayed but for the unguarded statements from the aspirants.

“Their statement on us really shows the kind of leaders these aspirants will be if they are finally elected as the candidate of our great party. We take exception to their name calling habit, just as we are battle ready to show them that we are ‘rogues’.

“Our party is for all comers. Many of them were not in the party when we emerged as delegates. We will not allow them to come into our house and undermine our integrity.

“In 2016, Olusola Oke defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to APC. He was not with us when we were forming the structure of the party. Yet, he participated in the primary election. Although he lost, he had delegates who voted for him. They weren’t rogues then? They didn’t milk him dry then? Did he not camp delegates at different hotels and give them money?”

Alleged Fraud: EFCC Witness, Sani Dauda, Denies Giving Shehu Sani $25,000 As Bribe.

Dauda, who testified on a two-count charge bordering on alleged bribery against Shehu Sani on Tuesday in Abuja, told the court that he personally took the money to the anti-graft agency because he was forced by the commission.

Chairman of ASD Motors, Sani Dauda, who is also a witness for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, has told the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja that he did not give $25,000 as bribe to Senator Shehu Sani to give the Chief Justice of Nigeria and EFCC Chairman.


Dauda, who testified on a two-count charge bordering on alleged bribery against Shehu Sani on Tuesday in Abuja, told the court that he personally took the money to the anti-graft agency because he was forced by the commission.

He said he told the commission that Sani had returned his money to him but the investigators insisted that he (Dauda) must bring the money.

The prosecution witness added that nobody was there when Sani collected and returned the money.

When asked if he was aware that offering bribes was an offence in the country, the witness admitted that he was aware but insisted that he did not give the money to him as a bribe.

He said, "When I went to EFCC, they said that I should bring the money but I said no, that it was my money and Sani had returned my money. But EFCC forced me to bring the $25,000.

"EFCC did not recover that money from Shehu Sani, I took it there by myself."

He added that nobody was there as a witness when he gave out the money to Sani and when he returned the money but insisted that people only saw him with brown envelope.

Meanwhile the defence counsel, Abdullahi Ibrahim, sought the permission of the court to tender a document containing a proforma invoice of $17,500 with a bank account of ASD Motors for the purchase of a Peugeot 508.

The witness also confirmed the documents and signature as his own when he was confronted with the evidence.

The court therefore admitted the documents as exhibit.

There was a little drama when the prosecution counsel, Abba Mohammed, attempted to interject the defence counsel during the cross examination but was overruled by the presiding judge, Justice Iyang Ekwo.

Mohammed also made efforts to put words into the witness’ mouth in the course of the proceedings but was cautioned by the court.

A new interpreter (Memuna Abdullahi Bulama) was also brought to court following the disagreement that ensued between the witness and interpreter on Monday.

The judge therefore adjourned the case until Wednesday, July 8, for continuation of trial.

Sani is standing trial for alleged name-dropping and obtaining a total sum of $25,000 by trick from Dauda to save him from a criminal investigation by the EFCC.

Saraki knocks APC for linking him with Hushpuppi


A former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has described as irresponsible and cheap politics, a statement credited to the All Progressives Congress, which tried to link him with a cyber-crime suspect, Ramon Abbas aka Hushpuppi, who was recently arrested in the United Arab Emirates and extradited to the United States.

This is contained in a statement titled, “Cyber Criminals: APC ‘s Statement Irresponsible, Says Saraki,” issued on Saturday by the media aide to the ex-Senate President, Yusuph Olaniyonu.


The APC’s statement, signed by its Deputy Publicity Secretary, Yekini Nabena, had demanded the probe of some Peoples Democratic Party leaders, including Saraki, over their alleged romance with Abbas.

But Saraki in his statement explained that he had no form of association with the said suspect, otherwise known as Hushpuppi and neither did he know him in any way.

It read, “The statement credited to the APC, the ruling party in our country, is one of the ways by which our anti-graft agencies are weakened and why the fight against corruption in the country is often viewed with suspicion by the international community.


“This is because when these cyber-crime suspects were operating freely and openly displaying wealth, the APC saw nothing bad in their activities.

“Also, the party at that time did not deem it necessary to call on the anti-graft agencies to investigate their activities.

“Also, since the arrest of those cybercrime suspects and the subsequent damage to the image and the economy of Nigeria as well as the crisis it created for Nigerians engaged in lawful businesses across the world, the ruling party had been muted (sic).

“The only time the APC deemed it necessary to make a statement was when it thought it should play dirty, cheap and irresponsible politics.

“Dr. Saraki was the only political leader who has publicly made a statement through an Op-Ed article published in the Daily Trust newspaper of July 1, 2020 titled ‘Cyber Criminals: Confronting The Few Who Dent Many.’

“At this point, we call on the APC leadership to rein in the so-called Yekini Nabena and compel him to desist from making and circulating such malicious, odious and offensive claims.”

Nobody argue against this your submission but supreme court went further to explain that The spirit of the law forbids anyone to contest for nomination under two or more parties in same election or even started the process of being nominated by procuring the nomination form.

It is the 1st respondent’s contention that the judgment is a judgment in rem and is therefore binding on all parties. That is the instant case, the 2nd appellant also nominated the 1st appellant as its candidate for the same election with the effect that two candidates were projected for the 2nd appellant in the same election.

I think APC should find something better to do if they want to win edo election not running from.pillar to post on frivolity.

If APC want to be nice they can simply exclude him as candidate in the primary election. That will take care of any followup court charge.

If they want to play mischief, they will include him on the list and in fact pay couple of people to vote for him. This act will establish that Obaseki contested election under APC while also a candidate under PDP at same time. Do you get it?

Former Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Ayodele Fayose has said that the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in the State was not interested in making any gain from the ongoing political feud between Governor Kayode Fayemi and Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, Senator Babafemi Ojudu.

Ojudu, who is having a running battle with the State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, over the control of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State had reportedly said on a radio station on Saturday that; "If I die and they put PDP flag on my coffin I will wake up, tear it and go back to sleep."

Responding, Fayose who spoke through his Media Aide, Lere Olayinka, likened the ruling APC to a "left hand used to clean asshole," saying; "Ojudu has no hand at all. He should not even be referred to as politician."

The former governor described Senator Ojudu as a political opportunist, who is always fighting for his own selfish gains, saying; "He fought against Niyi Adebayo, myself, Segun Oni and he is fighting Fayemi now. Who will please him in Ekiti?"

He disclosed that Ojudu was the one who sew the dress that he used for his inauguration as governor in 2003, adding that "the moment he realised that he won't be able to control my government then, he went into full-time blackmail, using his TheNews magazine and PM News."

Speaking further, the former governor said; "Ojudu was the arrowhead of the people who went to the likes of Baba Afe Babalola to lie against me then.

"He is political opportunist, a senator by accident, who is always striving to destroy any government in which he can't have his way.

"Therefore, he can continue with his usual voyage of political blackmail, that is his business and that of his Coronavirus infected APC party.

"As for us in the PDP, we are not interested in making any gain from the reckless political life of a man who does nothing other than to destroy the good works of others."

BREAKING! Ajimobi Actually Died Last Week From Coronavirus, His Death Was Covered, Kemi Olunloyo Clarifies (Video)

Abiola Ajimobi’s death was not announced immediately he died due to political reasons. Kemi Olunloyo who is a relative to the dead former Oyo State governor took to her Twitter and Youtube accounts to clarify these.


Investigative journalist Fisayo Soyombo had earlier reported that the last governor was dead. The announcement brought him a lot of backlashes also from Kemi who went to the immediate relatives to confirm the development.

Fisayo insisted that Ajimobi was actually in a vegetative state and nothing again can be done for his condition. He also said that the doctors have given up on his health condition.

The announcement was only made a day before yesterday and Nigerians knew something was up politically. This much Kemi Olunloyo can now confirm to us in a series of tweets and a video on her Youtube channel.

It was my own father His Excellency VOS Olunloyo Ajimobi’s cousin that briefed me in a phone call that he indeed died a week ago due to complications of #COVID19. My dad mention Brain death and multiple organ failure. He was moved to an Ibadan morgue by @followlasg#RIPAjimobi

His death was a sad development for we Oyo state indigenes as he served us 8 years. Ajimobi will be buried on a live TV state funeral tomorrow Sunday 6/28/20. I did a 12 minute detailed video of this announcement.
