APC peopled by hypocrites, Atiku chides ruling party over Cameroonian citizenship claim A few weeks after the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, urged the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal to dismiss his suit challenging the declaration of President Muhammadu Buhari as winner of the February 23 election, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has described the party as home to hypocrites who speak from both sides of the mouth. Alhaji Atiku Abubakar The former Vice President flayed chieftains of the APC, arguing that rather than providing evidence to support Buhari’s supposed victory at the poll; they are busy chasing trivialities to hoodwink innocent Nigerians. In a chat with our correspondent on Thursday, spokesman of the Atiku Presidential Campaign Council, Kassim Afegbua tasked the APC and its leaders to take a trip down memory lane to recall how they once described Atiku in superlative terms only to turn around to question his nationality because he challenged the outcome of the elections. He said: “The APC is just a bunch of very hypocritical characters who are chasing shadow instead of substance, in an election they massively rigged to profit themselves. Rather than present their defence, they are busy running from pillar to post, diverting attention from the real issues concerning the election. "At first, they said Atiku Abubakar was not a Nigerian. Again, they said we hacked the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC server. Later when they heard INEC disowned hacking, they now said no results existed in the server. They have been vacillating from one ridiculous theme to another, without addressing the critical issues of electoral fraud in defence of their dubious victory.” He continued: “When Atiku Abubakar was donating money to them in the APC, they decorated him with golden ornaments; when he was providing logistics, they were all swarming around him, calling him the great Waziri. “In fact, you need to go back and read all the eloquent tributes that were poured on him as a great Nigerian, but as soon as he opted to confront the APC in the 2019 elections, they started using the same mouths to denigrate him. “Those who preached integrity suddenly joined the hypocritical chorus, sheer double standards and a character profiling that exposes the dubiety of those APC chieftains. “Suddenly they remembered that Atiku is no longer a Nigerian, a former Vice President at that, a business tycoon whose productivity is not in doubt. A man who has impacted positively on thousands of Nigerians by way of employment. “But we will not be distracted by their doublespeak. Nigerians know that Atiku Abubakar won the election and even the APC knows that in the hearts of Nigerians, they didn’t win the election, but we will shock them with further proofs at the tribunal.” He took a swipe at the state of affairs in the nation, saying, “Just imagine the level of killings, kidnappings and banditry across the country. Even, the president’s home state of Katsina has been invaded by bandits and kidnappers. “That has been the level of rot and insecurity, and you think Nigerians truly voted for such a decadent system under leadership that jets out of the country each time we are in serious trouble? No, it is not possible. Nigerians are very wise and very informed citizens. They could not have voted for such leadership that has impoverished them and plunged them into hunger and poverty, more hardship and deprivations in the past four years.” Also speaking, Phrank Shaibu, also a spokesman to the former Vice President said those now questioning Atiku’s nationality are men lacking in honour who have no sense of shame. He said: “Let me a place on record that Atiku’s case at the tribunal represents the moral imperative in a polity struggling to retrieve its conscience from the depravity of men who have no honour because they have no shame. “We are proud to stand beside the good people of Nigeria in their struggle to assert the legitimacy of their mandate and the dignity of their votes. “Atiku has used facts to prove that he won the election while the APC and Buhari are shouting that Atiku is not a Nigerian. “One would have thought that the APC and it’s a candidate will be releasing new and or powerful evidence, to prove at the ongoing election petition tribunal that they clearly won the election without rigging. “We are encouraged by the presence of the several fearless men and women of the bench in our present-day judiciary. We know that, sooner than later, those honourable and noble dispensers of justice in our present-day judiciary shall deliver a judgment that will be untainted by lucre and uncowed by the threat of immoral power.” https://www.vanguardngr.com/2019/05/apc-peopled-by-hypocrites-atiku-chides-ruling-party-over-cameroonian-citizenship-claim-2/ |

The governor-elect of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde on Wednesday warned the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state against twisting his interview with newsmen in Abuja on the N30,000 minimum wage implementation. In a statement issued by his spokesman, Prince Dotun Oyelade Thursday and made available to newsmen in Ibadan, Makinde maintained that it “will be futile for the opposition to attempt to twist the implications and meaning of the interview I granted in Abuja as it will amount to selective understanding.” The governor-elect stressed that what he said was that states, as independent federating units should have been allowed to determine the minimum wages of their individual states. He emphasised that as regards Oyo State, “a committee will begin discussions with the leadership of the NLC from the first week in June 2019 to determine the extent to which government can implement not only the minimum wage, but indeed provide buffers for the workers to live decently.” Makinde reiterated his promise that his administration will be workers friendly on assumption of office on May 29, 2019. https://www.blueprint.ng/minimum-wage-dont-twist-my-comments-makinde-warns-apc/ |

JUST IN: Another recession around the corner, says Yari Abdul Aziz Yari, chairman of Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), has warned incoming governors to be prepared for another cycle of recession. Speaking at the opening the ceremony of an induction programme for newly-elected and returning governors in Abuja, Yari who is the governor of Zamfara, said there is a possibility of a recession by the mid-2020 till third quarter of 2021. In August 2016, Nigeria entered its first recession in more than two decades. The gross domestic product had contracted by 3.06 per cent in the first quarter and shrunk by 0.36 per cent in the second quarter. Yari said the outgoing governors have agreed that borrowing is not a good means of solving economic problems. He urged the incoming governors to multiply revenue generation base so as to “change the course of doing government business for the betterment of the people”. The NGF chair told the governors and incoming ones that it will not be smooth ride as they begin a new administration. “On our part, we made a lot of achievements in infrastructural development and provision of social services because we enjoyed a relatively high oil price of about $100 to $114 per barrel between 2001 and the middle of 2014,” he said. “However, by the mid-2014, the price of crude oil, which is sadly the main driving force of government’s expenditure, dropped to $75 per barrel. It, therefore, became very difficult for many states to even pay salaries of their workers. “This scenario is a wake-up call for all of you to come amply prepared to face these kinds of challenges especially since we are expecting the possibility of another cycle of recession by mid-2020 and which may last up to third quarter of 2021. “Your good spirit of stewardship will make you contain the situation should there be one. Also, as members of the National Economic Council, you must work hand in hand to boost the economy in tandem with the global best practices. “Experience, they say, is the best teacher. Ours has been a challenging experience of managing state economies that are totally dependency on accruals from the federation account rather than exploring viable alternatives to run the economy. “For most of the states, internally generated revenue (IGR) are nothing to write home about. You must, therefore, look inward by boosting your revenue generation base and also utilize them effectively for execution of projects that would touch the lives of your people. You must not forget the high expectations of our people on us; now that the democracy is maturing day in day out the challenges of governance and service delivery are more demanding.” He also urged the incoming governors to strengthen tax laws and encourage Nigerians to pay their taxes. “It is unfortunate that our people have a very negative attitude to payment of taxes in full, including corporate agencies,” he said. “My take on this is that, as a country with over 200 million people, our individual and collective contributions in ensuring prompt payment of taxes can help the government achieve all its objectives. For us to achieve these responsibilities, we have to strengthen our tax laws and to make them very effective in our task of building a better Nigeria. “If the necessary measures are put in place to provide a working system, I am certain that at the end of the day, we are going to succeed in tackling unemployment, reducing poverty, ensuring food security and disease control as well as building a nation with a robust economy.” In his remarks, Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo reminded the returning and incoming governors that the nation still battles poverty, malnutrition, illiteracy, out-of-school children etc. He challenged states to to boost their IGR and value added tax (VAT) in respective states in order to address the numerous issues. He also said the national executive council would begin to look at more ways to effectively fund security in the country. https://www.google.com.ng/amp/s/www.vanguardngr.com/2019/04/there-will-be-another-recession-by-mid-2020-till-2021-ngf-warns/amp/

INEC is replacing servers across states to conceal rigging - PDP The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has accused the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, of replacing all the servers at its headquarters in Abuja and all its offices in the 36 states of the federation in a bid to obliterate the “actual result” of the February 23 presidential election. The PDP, in a statement today by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, said the alleged act was completely reprehensible and further exposed the culpability of INEC in the manipulation and rigging of the 2019 presidential election. The party however, said it would remain strong, be at alert and work relentlessly to reclaim what it termed its “stolen mandate.” “The PDP has been well briefed on how the INEC leadership and officials of the Buhari Presidency became jittery and resorted to the desperate measure, after they realized that the servers have information of Atiku Abubakar’s victory at the election. “Our party also has details of how the INEC leadership and the Presidency agents procured and detailed computer experts to the commission’s offices to switch the servers, mutilate vital information in the system and attempt to erase all trails of transmitted results to the main server. “Moreover, our party has been informed about how the INEC leadership, several weeks after the election, used some compromised officials of the commission to manipulate voter registers in some states by ticking names of individuals who did not participate in the Presidential election, as having voted. This is with the view to using such to cover the fictitious results it wrote for the APC. “What INEC and the Buhari Presidency do not understand is that computer software and applications leave traces, signatures as well as footmark. Forensic investigation of the system will reveal the real votes transmitted from the polling centers, which show Atiku Abubakar as the winner of the election. “The PDP therefore, insists on forensic examination of all relevant documents and equipment used for the presidential election,” the party said. Carlyboi:The case had already been closed. Because EFCC lack evidence |
garfield1:You will not stop to amaze me with this your submission. In a tribunal case. The petitiobal can bring up all available ground to support his case. It's then left for Defendant to counter that. So I will advise you to stop APC attitude of being the Judge and prosecutor at the same time. If that is your mindset. I will simply tell you, you have failed already |
I will dwell on ground 4 and 5 of the petition 4) That Buhari at the time was not qualified to contest in the election; and 5) That the affidavit submitted by Buhari to INEC was a false affidavit. Simply the petition didn’t say that Buhari needs WAEC certificate to contest, it simply says that Buhari was not qualified to contest on the basis of the documents he submitted, which had NOT A SINGLE CERTIFICATE. If perhaps Buhari submitted his Primary School Certificate or even a Certificate of Furniture Making, that could have make sense because under section 318 as amended Primary school certificate is very compulßory, but did Buhari submit any, NO. The point is that what Buhari submitted was an affidavit which dating is contentious. Candidates for Presidential office in Nigeria are mandated to fill form CF001 and swear an oath that the information filled into the form is true - which Buhari did and swore to on October 8, 2018 - and attached to it his CV and another affidavit dated 24th November 2014. In that outdated affidavit from 2014, Buhari claimed that his certificates and other documents filled into form CF001 are with the Secretary of the Military Board. This claim was denied on record by Brig. Gen. Olajide Laleye in January 2015 - the video will be shown in court. Furthermore, the schools Buhari claimed in the form CF001 to have attended simply did not exist as at the time he claimed in the same form to have attended them. Again, the petition promises to call up records from the National Archive to disprove the information Buhari filled. The outdated affidavit Buhari submitted actually said: “ALL MY ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION DOCUMENTS AS FILLED IN MY PRESIDENTIAL FORM APC/001/2015 ARE CURRENTLY WITH THE SECRETARY MILITARY BOARD AS AT THE TIME OF THIS AFFIDAVIT”. The problems here: Not only is the affidavit clearly outdated, it was simply duplicated and still carries the reference number of Buhari’s 2015 nomination forms, not the 2019 nomination forms. It also tells a lie that had been debunked as far back as January of 2015. For his secondary school qualification in Paragraph C, Column 2 and on Page 3 of Buhari’s CF001 form as submitted to INEC, Buhari wrote “WASC”. The problem here is that as at 1961 when Buhari claimed to have obtained it, there was no qualification known as WASC available. This will provide direct opportunity for the Appeal court to once and for all decide on this case. Previous attempt to make Buhari defend this certificate issue had be punctured by Buhari henchmen laying siege on the issue with those concern |
Good morning Coming late to the party |
