Health / Re: My Horrible Experience With Heat Yesterday Night by engreddy(m): 9:00pm On Jan 18, 2019
chocolateme:
Greetings to anyone reading this, please pardon my grammatical errors as I bare my heart in this write up. We live in a down floor flat in a three storeyed building and as you know how most compounds in Surulere is without space, ours is surrounded by other tall buildings so to get fresh air especially at night is zero possible.
The state Government has not been forthcoming with pipe borne water these days despite knowing how important water is to human life, the power supply company are making it harder too, you go to bed at night, you won't sleep well due excess heat, you won't see water to at least bath throughout the night to keep cool till morning.
This has been going on in our area in Surulere around Itire/Ishaga. Last night, I thought I was going to die oh God!! We have generator set but the engine is very faulty and very expensive to repair besides, we can't be spending money on fuel on daily basis coupled with the fact that there are other expenses at home to run.
Last night, I was awake till 3am dot, I kept fanning myself and sweating profusely, at a point, I felt I was loosing my breath, I stood up, laid down, sat down, I did everything I could to feel OK but to no avail, my hand was aching me too.
I slept off for about 12minutes only to suddenly jerk up from bed and feel sweat running down my face and body like a cup of water was poured on me hmm.. The mattress was soaked at different sections and I couldn't lie down on it again. The one that scared me most was that I observed that fluid came up into my mouth from my stomach and I rushed to go and spill it out, dehydration too, I kept drinking water and trying to stay alive.
By exactly 3am dot, they brought the light, I wasn't feeling happy because there was no morale for excitement anymore but I finally managed to sleep off, i woke up again as they took it by past 4 again till now. I sleep by 3 or 4 almost every night and I am feeling frustrated. I felt I should share it, I am tired, God please help me, I am always scared once the night approaches on daily basis.. The Government should help the masses with light and water for healthy living.

You need to get a rechargeable fan. It will help a lot.

Election is already here, people's minds are already made up, just like yours. Let both camps tell us what they plan to do better and how to go about it, maybe that myt make some changes in the minds of intelligent Nigerians , smere campaign won't work at this time, it's too late. Hehehe at this point, the truth is that all these videos, audios, pictures won't change anything.

Just the way even if there is an audio leak of Buhari saying Walahi i am not pytin kwarafshun, even tinubu, amaechi, all of us are kwaraft will still vote for him without thinking twice... thats the same way someone who has made up their mind to vote Atiku will not relent because of this video or any other material that seems to discredit Atiku

For many, this election is not about competence or credibility. Its mostly about tribalism, selfish interest, regional hatred etc..

Many are dreaming about 2023, some are even hoping sth could even happen to bubu before the end of his tenure and then their brother takes over.

Some out of hatred, want bubu out, some want their brother to be number 2 citizen.

Some know the govt of the day is incompetent, they don't care about Atiku being whatever APC are saying he is, they just want to prove that they have the power to vote out a failed government...

Well, at the end of the matter, I'll take PMB over Atiku any day, anytime. He may not be competent in economic matters (we knew that), but he has people he should be and who are trying their best.

Besides, Atiku may be good in business. But he has that inclination to be selfish and corrupt and I cannot imagine him as the president where he answers to no one. The obj supporting him today will start writing long letters tomorrow (which wouldn't change a thing).

There is corruption in every country and every govt, but at least, let it not be openly practiced. Let there be some fear among people that if you cannot explain your source of wealth, you will be asked to returned. But Atiku is no option for me

Now let's do a proper analysis of this video.
When he said that, there was a general laughter in CHANNELS audience...knowing how Channels TV's political inclinations are perceived.
I expected condemnation instead, akin to what VP Osinbajo received when he kept droning on about PDP 16 years instead of sticking to the debate undecided
There is a reason this video was kept at 10 secs. It's left for well meaning Nigerians to find out.
Could it be that he must have referred to the entire citizenry as his friends at some point during the programme? And someone is selling us a 10 secs video with the act of misleading?

MODIFIED: I found the full video.
I've got to say whatever propaganda these people are selling, they are damned evil.

For those determined not to be misled, here it is: https://www.channelstv.com/2019/01/16/im-not-going-to-enrich-members-of-my-family-but-my-friends-atiku/

A counter thread is advised. Nigerians should not let themselves be misled by dirty politics of these desperadoes in power. His statement was as clean as they come. But selfish elements cut just 10 secs out of the full video.

Was it selfish to keep Amaechi's tape at few seconds? Did you bother to look for the full uncut version of the tape?
Politics / Re: Video : I Am Going To Enrich My Friends-Atiku by engreddy(m): 6:23am On Jan 17, 2019
CalmNCollected:
The question is who are the friends of Atiku? All of us are, now he's addressing a business community, this was laying emphasis on how entrepreneurs would enjoy a favorable atmosphere. Watching the video to where he concluded the statement would make you grasp the point he's trying to make.

Also, unlike buhari who enriched his family members who comes to Abuja to beg for 2k naira in the past, Atiku won't be doing that but would make everyone who he's leading and every business owner to be wealthy.

That's the emphasis here, but some misfits are making a mole out of it, that's very pathetic and unfortunate of them grin

Like you were making a mole out of distorted Amaechi tape or misquoted Buhari's speech?

Politics / Re: Amaechitape : My Conversation With A Friend by engreddy(m): 8:01am On Jan 16, 2019
Dejikohen:
A friend of mine placed a phone call through to me in the wee hours of the 6th of this month in the still quite young year. When I saw the call the first thought that passed through my mind was "I hope the President is alright? This friend only calls when something is wrong in the villa." This morning however, my friend sounded relaxed and we had our routine conversation on our respective plans for the year, the likely impact of the forthcoming elections on the nation and Africa as a continent. I told her we stand at a very significant threshold in the history of the nation. Political education and citizen awareness is at an all time high, eventhough I am still bothered by the low rate of PVC collection. She was excited about the prospect of getting married this year and landing a new job as a senior special assistant to perhaps the most powerful minister in the present legislature.

Suddenly she went mute and in a low but worrisome voice she asked: "Deji, have you listened to the audio? Of course I knew she was referring to the 'Amaechi-gate' revelations and I said, Yes. I asked to know why she sounded worried since I knew that the minister was not her boss. She replied: "Deji, tell me what you think of the situation, and is there an end in sight?

I replied by telling her what I do think, some of which I have decided to pen down for posterity sake. Other points of our discussions are not meant for more than four ears.

Upon listening to the audio, the first impression of every Nigerian will be - this is Amaechi's voice and he was revealing the reality known by every citizen of this great nation, while the APC, Ameachi's supporters and journalist will ask questions like how we are sure the minister's voice was not somehow dubbed in order to implicate him, we can also only wonder how a politician of his status and standing be that careless about such public expression of a delicate opinion (as a politician, not as a patriot). Some groups believe strongly that the audio was doctored and that was obviously the work of PDP and his enemies.

The first thing my friend and her APC colleagues need to be aware of is that this audio will in no way affect the outcome of the 2019 elections. This is an un-united Nigeria where the parameters for voting at elections are far from conventional. However, the audio would have been more of a determinant in the 2019 elections if it was the voice of the President or the Vice-president.

For me none of the above arguments matter. Moreover, I am concerned with the political future of the minister and the thought of Mr President and the Kaduna Mafia. What most Nigerians fail to realise is President Muhammadu Buhari is (not 'was') a General. Forget democracy, agbada and the babariga politics, the man and his political 'tribe' (Kaduna Mafia) will ensure that nothing can change it, not even being the President of Nigeria. One item sacrosanct in the political constitution of men like the President is humility and the opposite is betrayal; a General demands absolute loyalty from his foot soldiers and lieutenants. Appearing to be anything otherwise is an invitation to termination. Let us not give ourselves to the illusion of thinking that PMB is dull and cannot think or read like the audio said; to be a General means you have become skilled in the art of strategy and leading something as tactically delicate and demanding as leading a coup. Edward Luttwark showed us that there is a skilled residue with the grand master.

In the president's camp the strategy is clear as crystal, the aim now is winning the election and no General goes to war with a divided house. So the minister is a post-election matter, to be dealt with after victory at the polls. However, the president's personal mafia (General Dambabazu, Abba Kyari, Issa Funtuai to name a few) will be tasked with putting the minister at arms length to reduce his influence and further damage he might do in the General's camp, as his loyalty cannot be ascertained anymore. As we saw with the inguaration of the Presidential campaign committee, the minister will just be the Director-General in name with no influence or authority. The show will be run by the Asiwaju. Furthermore, the minister's access will be limited, after all Akpabio can wield more influence and bring in more votes in Akwa-Ibom, compared to Amaechi in Rivers.

After the election, the president and his mafia will take one of the ministries from him, possibly Aviation and after some time, say a maximum of nine months, there will be cabinet reshuffle in masking a payback for those that supported the President's first and second term victory and Amaechi will be skillfully kicked out with the promise some form of juice appointment. The minister's good standing with appointments will start falling like a pack of cards like the NIMASA guy except they read the hand writing on the wall and sell their loyalty to the highest bidder as common with our politics. The masterstroke will then be to start prosecuting the minister for corruption. He will be belligrently forced out in the name of fighting corruption and house cleaning.

For Rt, Hon Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, no matter how much composure he displays on television and other media platforms, we know he his jittery. Now Mr minister is not the time to prove loyalty as that will be termed desperation. It is time to show solidarity, meanwhile Nigeria has taught us that nothing lasts forever and no politician can be written off. Omisore is an obvious case study. Another man in need of the minister's political experience, presenting him with opportunities will surely arise and then he will have the liberty of showing his boss where his heart belongs.

Lastly to Mr Amaechi: Do not ever mention this issue if your boss does not speak or show any sign of intending to have any conversation concerning this matter, let the sleeping dog lie.

Thank you my friend.

God bless you and may He bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Reno that I know right from time is petty any way and I keep saying it that PDP don't know how to play opposition may be its because they dont have anything tangible to offer.
An audio that doesn't reflect the context of Amaechis remark, is that one audio evidence?
The context really matters to me; what o heard Amaechi reflecting in that audio is that, buhari does listen to all these nonsense people like reno say about which should be the good thing to do as a dutiful person / leader.
So how can 'eran-o' present that as evidence that Amaechi said buhari doesn't listen. Disgraceful.
I'm planning to throw away my vote to one of the unpopular presidential candidates before but if PDP continues this way, I might be forced to add one more vote to the auto-rigged votes of the ruling party.

Did this report come from the military or government? If you read it, can you notice how disjointed and incoherent the report is? Besides, we're are the videos of people who fled to IDP camps? Where are the pictures? At least, they had been claiming this for about 2 weeks now but no video or pictures of people who fled this communities.

Also, did you noticed the number of soldiers who lost their lives in the Meleti war is 20? As against more than 40 reported by other news agencies? At some point, some even reported more 100?

My opinion is, this report is made up. Nothing substantial in it to boost its claim. No video or picture with time stamp.

That's a big fat line. You cannot build such a rail line with $181m. Using $1 to 364nara conversion, $181m is about 65.8b naira, which is impossible for a project of that magnitude.
