Joshua has revealed the British-Nigerian boxing
champion wants to fight Tyson Fury next, after
watching Fury sensationally defeat Deontay
Wilder in 7 round knock out on Sunday morning
at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas.
It was the second time Fury and Wilder were
fighting, after getting a draw in the first clash in
December 2018, and with the win Fury now has
the WBC heavyweight belt while still retaining the
Lineal and Ring magazine heavyweight
championship belt.


Fury's win now means Britain has all the belts in
the boxing heavyweight division and Hearn has
revealed Joshua wants a unification bout against
Fury, a match that if agreed will determine the
true king of the heavyweight division.
Speaking on the Weekend Sports Breakfast show
on Sunday morning, Joshua’s promoter said he
will go all out to set up a monster all-British
clash next.

“I’ve already spoken to AJ and he wants to go
into this fight next,” Matchroom supremo Hearn
declared.

“We have to make this fight happen. We will
never, ever get the chance for two Brits to fight
for an undisputed heavyweight world
championship.

“I promise you we will do everything we can to
make this fight. It has to happen.”
Wilder has the option to take up a third fight with
Fury this summer, but Hearn hopes the American
does not do so after he was well and truly
destroyed by Fury before his team threw in the
towel in the seventh round.

“I don’t think anyone wants to see a third fight
because it was that conclusive but we will see if
he exercises that clause,” continued Hearn.
“I probably expect Wilder to do that – I don’t see
where else he has to go.

“But our mandatory [IBF] challenger, Kubrat
Pulev, is also promoted by Bob Arum, like Tyson
Fury, so there is a very easy manoeuvre there if
Wilder doesn’t accept the rematch to go straight
into this undisputed fight in the summer. That is
what we have to push for initially.
“If Wilder comes back and says ‘no, I’m having
my rematch’ then that is due for July or August,
AND it doesn’t really matter because we fight
Pulev at Spurs in June and this fight happens in
November/December. But our preference is to go
straight into it because if we went straight into it,
it would be undisputed.

“We will never get this opportunity in this sport
to do this again with two Brits.
“I’ve already spoken to AJ – he wants to go
straight into this fight next. He loves the Tyson
fight, he has has zero fear of fighting Tyson Fury.
“He has been through everything already and he
wants to be undisputed and this is the chance
for our sport to have one of those legacy
moments that we will never get the opportunity
to have again.”

“I heard out of his camp he was going to be
aggressive and go for it and I thought it was
absolute madness and it ended up being genius
from him and his team,” he said.

The Philippines is preparing to evacuate
thousands of Filipinos working in the
Middle East as regional tensions rise
following the killing of a top Iranian
commander by the U. S.
President Rodrigo Duterte’s spokesman
Salvador Panelo on Tuesday said this in
Manila.


About 2 . 3 million people from the
Philippines are working in the Middle
East as domestic helpers , construction
workers , engineers , and nurses.
Duterte has ordered the armed forces
to prepare air and naval assets for the
evacuation of Filipinos in Iraq , Iran ,
and nearby Arab countries, Panelo said.

Saying he was deeply worried about
the prospect of a “ protracted war ” ,
Duterte told reporters he sent a special
envoy to Tehran and Baghdad to get
assurances that Filipinos would be
provided safe passage in case of
evacuation.
“ We have so many Filipinos working
mainly in the Middle East . I am
nervous. Iran seems to be hell- bent on
retaliation, which I think, will come ,”
Duterte said in a speech on Monday .
There are close to 7 , 000 Filipinos
working and living in Iraq and more
than 1 ,000 in Iran , according to
government data.


Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana,
who heads a newly created committee
to prepare the evacuation , said the
government is readying aircraft to ferry
Filipinos in Iraq and Iran who wish to
come home or be evacuated to safer
areas.
“ We can send transportation to fetch
them ,” Lorenza said, adding that hiring
a cruise ship was among the things the
government was considering to safely
evacuate those who would wish to be
repatriated .

The US administration has denied a visa to allow Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif to attend a UN Security Council meeting in New York on Thursday, a US official said.

'The United States will get the decisive, definite answer for its arrogance at the time and place when it will feel the most pain,' Mr Zarif said in a speech on regional developments that was broadcast on state television.

Mr Zarif also said today that he had been barred from the meeting.

As the host of the UN headquarters, the US should allow foreign delegates to attend such events.

'They fear that someone comes to the US and reveals realities,' Zarif said.

The acting Chairman of the Economic and
Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim
Magu has disclosed that the mothers of
suspected internet fraudsters now have an
association.

The anti-graft agency Chairman who disclosed
this at EFCC stakeholders conference on crusade
against cybercrime fraudsters in Lagos, said such
mothers always justify the activities of their
children by stating that they are fending for their
families abandoned by deadbeat and
irresponsible fathers. He added that EFCC will
work towards rehabilitating arrested young
suspects.

Magu also disclosed that the Lagos Office of the
agency has made 300 cybercrime-related arrests
since January and have also secured 200
convictions.
