Beautiful sisters and (brothers?), please i need your advise. I am in the US and was planning on starting an iIVF cycle next month. Last year Nov, I a had an ultrasound that showed a 17mm cyst on my right ovary. Went back yesterday for another ultrasound, and the cyst is now bigger at 22mm. I am waiting to know what the ivf clinic will say but they will most likely not allow me start. My question now is I can I make this cyst go away? I have heard they go away on their own and was hoping for that but obviously, I id not get so lucky. (I am in the US between, don't know if that is relevant but just in case).

Thanks in advance!

If you don’t mind, can you kindly share the reason for the rejection so we all can learn and be guided. Thank you in anticipation!
Sure, the visa officer said he was not convinced i performed enough of the duties listed for my NOC.

Thanks!

Please house, I am looking for some guidance.

My first application was denied and I got ITA again and trying to fill out the second application
There is a session title "Immigration history and citizenships" and 2 out of the 5 questions have me confused.
1. Has EngrSarah applied to Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada before: I answered Yes
2. Has EngrSarah applied for Permanent Residence (PR) before: I answered Yes

Here are the questions confusing me:
3. Please provide the Permanent Residence (PR) file number: I believe this should be the file number, which starts with an "E" of my rejected application, right?
4. If EngrSarah has a Unique Client Identifier (UCI) please enter it below: I believe this should be the UCI of my rejected application, right?

Thanks in advance!

In the spirit of second guessing everything, I suggest you get a new one. Nigerian PCC is one of the easiest to get in the whole world. Remember the document itself has VALID FOR 6 MONTHS boldly written on it. You wouldn't want your new application to be thrown out at R10. I would err on the side of caution if I were you.

Thank you.

Hello good people of NL,

I need your help please. I got ITA yesterday and trying to get my ducks in a row. I posted a couple of weeks ago that my 9-month old PR application was refused because my reference letter did not match the NOC job duties and lead statement closely enough. I have since gotten another letter which I believe is a close match (of course without being 100% match to what they listed). With my first refusal, I am now paranoid and second-guessing everything.

Could somebody please be kind enough to help me take a look at my new reference letter and compare it to the NOC? I would really appreciate it.

Secondly, I would like to know if I can re-use the Nigerian police report I got last year. I have not been to Nigeria since I got the report so I expect it should still be valid. Tried looking for this info on IRCC but did not find it. Please point me in the right direction.

Thank you!

One of the most efficient ways I've found to process a Nigerian Passport in the U.S. is through the local Nigerian Association (or local Nigerian tribal association) in your state. I don't know what state you're resident in, but in my state, the Nigerian Association brings members of the consulate from either NY or DC to a central city in the state to process passports every year. The officials of the Nigerian Association have direct contacts/access and can help you make inquiries.
Thanks, I was going to do that but they only come here like once a year and I could not wait for that. Anyways, I finally found a way around and I should get my passport today.

Good morning mamas , hope we are all doing well. Please I have a question bothering my heart so so much and it’s giving me serious sleepless nights. I am 30 years old and currently in the USA doing my masters , i had my first child through ivf In Nigeria. I still have some embryos at the clinic I did my ivf in Nigeria. But am thinking whether to start a fresh ivf cycle here in the USA because my Nigeria passport has expired and it’s going to take months to renew another passport also with this corona virus pandemic I dnt know when the airport would be opened . When I did the calculation coming back and doing it in the USA it’s almost same price because of the flight tickets and accommodation in Nigeria , I wouldn’t want to stay with family. So they Dnt know much information about my plans. Since they were not aware of my first child. It was btw me n hubby. The drugs in the USA are covered by insurance So I only pay for the procedure alone
I am really confused whether to do it in Nigeria since I have frozen embryos. Or start a fresh cycle in the USA
But what happens to the embryos in naija.
Please house I would appreciate a reply in other for me to decide properly
Thanks mamas
If your drugs are covered by insurance, that is great, go for it in the US. What insurance do you have though? It's great it covers ivf drugs here!

You have nothing to worry about if you have really make the necessary arrangements to get your passport mail to you. You would get your passport in the address box you provided. You may check with the address provided to them. Besides, you know how things are at this time, delay of whatsoever should be expected. Shalom
It is a question of when and at least be able to get an update. I am in a foreign country, literally can't do A LOT of things without it. I don't even know if my passport has been processed or not. They just cannot be reached at all. If you know anyone there (or any other Nigerian embassy in the US), I will appreciate a connection. Thanks.

Hello fellow Nairalanders,

I am looking for some help. I am in the US and applied for a renewal of my passport at the Nigerian Embassy in Washington DC here in the US. I applied on March 3 and it was supposed to be mailed to me on June 3rd but till now it has not been mailed and I have been unable to get in touch with the embassy to even get an update on the passport, which I need URGENTLY. Please does anyone know anyone that works there? I will appreciate help on this. Thanks.

That’s why most people travel to Naija to do it. Though some Naija hospitals have started policy of not more that two as well. Did they say except you’re above 35yrs? Yet they hardly accept IVF for people over 35.
Exactly, the irony right? My doctor is actually a Nigeria but the quote from is clinic is killing, I think he agrees to transfer 2.

Thanks goldie, really do appreciate would send the message across . She already called the hospital in Nigeria and they told her she still has 6 frozen left and they wouldn’t know if it’s good or bad until it’s ready for use so they would thaw them or so. But she’s afraid if the hospital just want to collect money from her. Whether she should do it In Australia. But her clinic in Australia told her they can only transfer only one strong embryo after the fresh ivf. To avoid multiple birth. That’s their clinic policy
Same policy here in the US, so annoying...How will somebody pay $20k and only transfer one. I am currently pushing for more than one at my clinic but they said "except you are above 35 and/or have bad egg quality, you will only get 1 transferred" Rubbish, my money, my body.

You can be in the pool with a month-validity passport and can do so post ITA but you just have to do a new one and update them or do it and wait for IRCC to ask you for it.

Try to be back in the pool with that 479. I believe it is well calculated. And recheck all other documents for validity, conformity and stuff.

The issue now is when will a FSW draw be?
Thanks! I'd probably just wait for my new passport, should get it first week in June. As for when FSW draw will be, well who knows? I will enter the pool and be hopeful on a draw as well as re-opening of my old application.

House, please question. I recently got refused for my pr application but yesterday i submitted updated reference letter and that stuff and a letter requesting reconsideration. Obviously, that is a long shot so I am trying to jump back in the pool since my CRS is still quite ok at 479. Now, my current passport expires in July 2020. I already went to get the processing started but my question is to get in the pool, can I use a passport with less than 6 months to expiration or should i just wait for the new passport. Trying not to waste time since I spent exactly 9 months post AOR on the other application. Thanks!

Reapplying again? Diving into the pool and waiting during these uncertain times? That’s not an option. You can google similar situations. I think I might have read where people appealed and their applications were reinstated. Just do your research and make sure your explanation is extremely convincing. You will sail through

I am trying to appeal o, just not going the legal route of court appeal. I am getting an updated reference letter from my employer and writing a letter of explanation to appeal. I am really praying for grace.

It showed 100% complete at the 6 months mark. Then I ordered gcms notes which I got 2 weeks ago and the ONLY review required was on statutory question (Have you been refused visa) which I answered yes to and explained. The notes clearly stated that the duties in the reference I submitted matches the lead statement and duties for the NOC. So imagine my surprise today. My VO is Montreal and they are really slow, many August and July even May AOR have still not gotten so it was not too strange, although frustrating, waiting 9 months.

Where is your VO?

You have two options: 1 - you could request a new reference letter (check NOC description to ensure the duties listed on the reference letter matches NOC as much as possible), submit this along with a letter of explanation. 2. you could withdraw your application and submit again with new reference letter.

I would suggest you try the first option depending on your VO, I know this option works.

I know someone who also did the second option (same reason for rejection) and got PPR 6 months later.
Thanks. My VO was Hamilton or Montreal, not very sure because they transferred my application. I am currently trying to get a new reference letter.

Please house....HELP!!! I just got a refusal letter for my express entry application.
The reason given was that the points in my reference letter does not match my NOC.

Can I appeal please - I am thinking of getting a new reference letter and a letter from my employer saying the old list of duties was not exhaustive (and it truly wasn't).

Just can't imagine reapplying again!

Your experienced thoughts really appreciated!

Dear Freethought, we understand your dilemma and can feel your pain. We have encountered a number of clients at Bridge Clinic in Nigeria who has faced situations similar to yours. Many people here have recommended medical advice and procedures as a solution to your challenge and we are here to tell you that that is the best step to take next. PGT (Preimplantation Genetic Testing) formerly known as PGD or PGS can help to identify the genotype of embryos that are created during the process of IVF, before transferring them to the womb. This means that couples with the AS genotype in the male and female can have children without worrying about having Sickle Cell babies. This is highly recommended as it increases the chances of having a healthy baby. If you would like to know more about this procedure, you may click here https://www.thebridgeclinic.com/patient-care/services/preimplantation-genetic-testing-pgt . We wish you the very best and hope that you are able to find a solution that allays your fears really soon.

What is the cost of pgd at Bridge Clinic please? Trying to calculate the cost..need it because we are both AS

Thanks so much. Its really not easy for me to take the decision of having the child of a man I do not know grow in me.
Very true, and it will be even more difficult for your husband because at least it will be "your own child". But in this life, we have to take whatever comes our way and get stronger. Avoid telling any family member and of course, he would legally own the child even though not biologically. God has given science to us so that we don't die without children. The importance of a child is to have someone that will take care of you in old age and see you as a a parent. I know it is definitely easier said than done (I am here struggling with my own issues too) but hey, who are we to question God? Just try to understand that as tough as the donor sperm situation is for you, it is tougher for your husband. So try to reassure him and make it seem like a no-issue. Baby dust to you and may God grant your desires.

My dear, major issue I'm seeing from your post is that of morphology. Have you discussed with the doctor about how to improve it? With zero normal forms it's hard to get good result. As for AS, you already know IVF can cover that by selecting best cells after fertilization so that aside. Just try some supplements and check if there are any habits he has that could have been affecting his swimmers. Since one of the houses is already down, it may take longer to get result, but remember nothing is impossible to God. I always tell people to do the one you can, and allow God do His.
If after trying and there's no much progress on count, you can discuss with dh on possibility of using donor sperm. I've heard so much about high cost of IVF in USA plus age limit of 37. So these are things you can consider before starting treatment. Some people prefer to travel to other countries for better and even cheaper result.
Discuss with your dh and ask God to direct you to take the right decision. Fertility dust to you dear.
Amen! Thank you ma

@ EngrSarah

Will it be possible doing it here in Nigeria. There are lots of good hospitals in Abuja and Lagos even Warri. Remember 60% of couples conceive on the first trial. Some may need to try again. Come down. Freeze some embryos. Regarding the semen, I know we had some crazy bad results . really bad but with good drugs, treating infection, eating right, exercise, prayers and good rest everything fell in line. Read backward. There was this drugs we were placed on FHPRO. suggest it to your Dr. But also build up the semen before any trial.

It's just a phase. Be positive and don't give up
