They become apprentice as early in the lives because they want to make money. While the women go to school so that they can catch the spareparts dealer as ATM husband. I have seen an igbo lady doctor marrying a spareparts dealer who is illiterate but stinkingly rich. Thats the trend in Igboland. Go to their universities, you will see classrooms full of females, all the men are learning business so that they can get rich quick.

I put aside all my bias, suspended all my prejudices and kept my predisposition and partisanship at bay and listened to the speech Bola Ahmed Tinubu gave at the Inauguration of his campaign.

I wanted to have a fair analysis and a circumspect judgment of the expression of his thoughts as the campaigns commenced hoping he will put forth some strong points before the Nigerian people.

I watched the entire YouTube video for about 25 mins and after I did, I sat down in the solitude of my mind and interrogated some thoughts that flashed through.

I wanted to understand fairly what it was that some of my friends felt were the strong advantages/arguments/points of leadership that Tinubu possessed that he was going to deploy if he was elected President.

I imagined for a moment what some folks may see in him that I don't see or that I didn't see as I watched him talk on his D-Day.

As much as I tried to vaccinate my mind and immunize my feelings as I watched him speak, I felt deeply embarrassed when he finished.

Not embarrassed at Tinubu!
Not embarrassed at all he said and the points he tried to make!
Not embarrassed at those in attendance especially the ladies who were overtly excited about nothing!

But embarrassed that I have some "friends" who I consider as intellectuals who actually think that this is what we need now as a country to move forward and make progress in this 21st century.

While I respect their choices or perhaps pretend to, I'm just bemused that these fine people are very proud about something that should ordinarily irritate them.
How the APC chose Tinubu over Osibanjo is a mystery of gigantic proportion, a mystery that nobody will be able to assimilate till Christ comes.

Well! I have given these my "friends" some latitude in the quarters of my heart.
Perhaps they support him because he's their tribes man!
Perhaps they support him because he shares same religion with them.
Perhaps they support him because of their loyalty to their political parties.
Perhaps they support because they are paid to.

All the above reasons are valid and I can't grudge them for these.

But if they support him because of any ounce of intellectualism or any ounce of captainship or any ounce of measuring ones ability to birth some form of hope for a dying nation or birth enthusiasm for a hopeless workforce or birth the spirit of industry for a dying population, it will amount to sheer insanity and I say this with great respect.

Bola Tinubu's speech was nothing to write home about. It was as empty just as it was laughable. So tey, he had to commend the beauty of all the women and had them recite after him the assurance that they were great. Only God knows what he was seeing as he stood on the podium.
With the passage of time, I will forget I ever watched the video. God help me!
