Now, you know that people are defecting to the Labour Party, that's why you qualified the statement in the body of your post. You then wrote, "Even in southeast we never hear of any notable politicians defecting to or supporting Labour Party and Obi". What is your definition of "notable politicians".


There are many variations of this theme (which has gone viral in the past few months), but it is not really true. I believe that it is a ploy to make it seem as if nobody is supporting Peter Obi, because it is quite easy to mention people that have defected to the Labour Party in order to support Peter Obi.

In addition to the people listed above, I can also include:

Dr Doyin Okupe: was a House of Representatives candidate of the NPN in 1983. He was the national publicity secretary of the NRC in the early 1990s. He was a media assistant to Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan. He was an Ogun State governorship aspirant on the platform of the PDP. In fact, he was a presidential aspirant on the platform of the PDP until a few months ago when he defected to the Labour Party and became the director general of Peter Obi's campaign organisation.


Victor Umeh was the former national chairman of APGA. He also defected to the Labour Party. He is also a former senator.

Professor Pat Utomi is also a member of the Labour Party and in fact, he is a member of Peter Obi's campaign team.

Ezenwa Francis Onyewuchi, a current senator from Imo State, defected to the Labour Party from the PDP.

There have been members of state houses of assembly and other politicians that have defected to the Labour Party.

You have struggled to produce the names of few featherweights as defectors. I am even surprised you made attempts at all. Your fellow sojourners believed there are no defectors because Peter Obi no dey give shishi. These defectors you mentioned, if they were not given shishi, what was there motivation? If they believed Obi would win, why aren’t notable politicians joining the bandwagon? There’s no way you will argue your way out of this. Peter Obi and LP are bad market, like the leprous fingers of a leper. That’s the main reason for avoiding LP. Because every politician wants to be in a winning party, not party of fantasy and hooliganism that has no hope of winning election.

The truth is that all the candidates each have their own merits. What you can look at and say this person was good at this. But what I've noticed from most Tinubu supporters, even my relatives that support him, is that their support is more along sentimental lines.

The only sentiment we have about Tinubu is the track record of achievements. Neither Obi nor Atiku have such records. Other than that, nothing else. Only a stupid person would support his tribesman or fellow church goer when we know that this will not bring more money to pocket and will not create more jobs or stop banditry. Nobody feels happy to see his relatives being kidnapped and killed because his tribesmen are in power. Of what use is that?

Before you were borne, we were there when Tinubu was a very young governor. Tinubu made his money from working with international companies. Obi made his money from selling drugs because he was from a poor home. Obi is the real age cheat because we saw his class group photograph which was dated and his recent utterances in Rivers state indicate Obi is at least 8 years older than his declared age. Obi falsified his degree and NYSC certificates. Many of these you cannot know because you are fed with lies from media that is allied with Obi. This Obi is a snake under the grass, very crooked and knows how to hide his mess. But some of us are wiser than you and smarter than you.

This is the question on the minds of many people and myself. Even in southeast we never hear of any notable politicians defecting to or supporting Labour Party and Obi.
