I plan to take the grant only.


My income for 2024 is 0.


My income for 2025 is 0.


My course starts Jan 2026, and the program is applied for in Nov 2025, meaning I will be applying for the OSAP in 2025 towards '2026 start of programme'


However, I am positively sure I will get a job in 2026.


My course, though full time, I am more than confidence I can juggle my job and the course because its a purely online pre-recorded course. I can always go to work and do my course in the evening after I'm back from work.


The issue is this, if I file my tax for 2026 in 2027, wouldn't OSAP convert my grant to loan based on the fact that

Since I would obviously have an income in 2026, wouldn't that trigger the OSAP guys to come after me in 2027 stating that I already have an income -even though i started getting the income way after my school started - and as such I was not meant to be taking OSAP or I should have reached out to them so they could have stopped subsequent OSAP payment.

You are comparing 2 very different cars here. Rav4 is a 2.5L 4 cylinder engine while Acura mdx is a 3.5L 6 cylinder engine so the difference in power output will be large.

In my opinion, if it's about snow, both can work. To be on the safest side with the rav4, you can go for XLE AWD instead of FWD. Your AWD plus winter tires is perfectly fine for heavy snow except probably in rare cases of unusual snow storm. In those cases, only the F150s and the likes survive.

Acura mdx is also good. My cousin drives the car for 4 years now and I haven't heard any complains from him.

A 5yo car isn't that old and one doesn't expect the electricals to start collapsing especially if it's a dependable car.

The RAV always has a prenium cos it's known to be reliable. However it has too many trims and the entry ones are quite basic. Heated seats and steering wheels are nice. Wouldn't be using a daily driver without these. I wonder what other perks the Acura has over the RAV.

From what you said, I'd be going for the Acura. Always like comfortable cars and granted, I'm not a fan of the RAV. Alternatively for peace of mind, since the Acura is cheaper, why not go for the 2022 model?

(1) thinking of buying used 2020 rav4 or used 2020 acura mdx. I would have loved the rav4 but its a bit too basic and its horsepower is 203 which may not be powerful to pull through heavy snow, but i know toyotas are very reliable.
And as for the mdx, its a more powerful car and the horsepower is 290 it can pull through snow i guess. It has so many functions like heated seat, heated steering and so much others. But i am skeptical because a car like this having too much funtion and very low price might be prone to eletrical issues.
Although i plan to use winter tires in winter anyways. Which one of the two is a better option?


(2) asides copart, fbmarket place, is there a reliable auction yard one can go to to pick up used, reliable certified cars. I know most places u need a dealer license or some sort of license for this, i will sort that out, but where in ontario can one find such reliable auction yard that categorises cars into good, fair and bad so you know exactly what you are getting into.

And get ita thru the secondary?
My friend works in tech but those health part time.

Now tech is his primary noc.
But most his point can only secure the health draws.

1) are winter tyres a necessity, i mean are they worth it, would they pass thru 80% of snowy conditions?
Also, is it wise to put it on all seasons or you have to change it to normal tyres when its summer. Interchanging as the season comes and go seems stressful too me, i’d rather just leave it on irrespective of the season. But i wanna hear you guys opinion.


2) also, whats the best place to get a used reliable car, i checked autotrader and fb market and their prices are so so high. Is copart a good alternative?


3) trying to buy a 2015 suv and most of the mileage i am seeing is mindblowing. Why are most cars in canada having so much mileage? Is it because the country is big or what. I am mostly seeing = or > 150k km.

They do not state it on the profile. But if you call ircc the agents can tell u which of the three stages under background check you have passed. Be it infor sharing, criminality or i cant remember the name of the last one.

You are right to try to look at things from the ECO’s point of view. But in this case, the ECO has clearly misrepresented what was submitted on the application form. Unemployed is different from Retired — and the difference is not a small one. Retired implies pension income, which the Poster said they submitted evidence of. That’s a home tie right there. They also submitted evidence of rental income. Another home tie.

A lack of dependents in Nigeria is not a criteria to have your visa refused. I have no dependents — not married, no kids, no elderly parent that needs me — and yet, my visas have never been refused. Applied for my mother, who also has no dependents, and she too received her visa.

A lot of these ECOs are beyond incompetent, to say the least. Read some refusal letters and you’ll see fantastic errors, from grammatical blunders to downright misstating of facts. We should never take their words as gospel.

I cannot guarantee that the Home Office will backtrack and grant the visa, but I believe a complaint is in order in this case.

Not sure the name is accompanied minor. But there is a service in qatar where you pay the airline to assign a staff for ur kid, infact, you have to pay adult ticket for your kid, furthermore, you have to pay return ticket for the staff back to the takeoff country. So is this not extra payments? 😂

Incorrect . You dont buy adult ticket. U buy the usual child ticket and fill a paper form at the front desk or contact customer care via webforms/telephone etc to book it. Child will have a dedicated staff to them at al tiems and at all steps of the way. No delays. At the final destination will be helped to clear customs etc & get luggage and handed over to the receiver tht was filled initially. The service does not carry any extra cost. One just needs to confirm with the airline their age limits. Ciao.

I'm not sure a minor can travel alone. In those days, a minor must travel with an adult - the adult's passport number would be endorsed on the minors UK visa. I'm not sure how it works these days as my children are now adults. Perharps others can help.
