iomoge2: @enque on baby falling down Chia we suffered o Ma babe fell from d bed twice. Once from me and another from hubby. Then i carried her one day and doozed off and she fell... this was early early sef like 12wèks
Well d one dat broke d camels back was when we were sleeping at night. I just heard her screaming. I looked and saw her on d floor... haaaa. Madam wont sleep on her bed and she can turn 4 africa. I spend my nights hald awake keeping her in place but that night... i didnt know what happened.
When we woke up.. we just jejely put our bed on d floor and carried the wood out. Cant shout. Her own bed too is open. She is climbing mistress now so she climbs into hers from ours.... then she has learnt how to come down from d bed herself... leg first.
I thought i will die tjose days she fell but what i thank God for was that she was always screaming after falling... God forbid she feel hard and kept quiet.
Dont beat yourself. Just try 4 ways to make everything easy for her. This movt time is something else. We have emptied the tins on d floor.... now everything is up up. Its only her toy thats on d floor now. Even cables and extention boxea r hanging... cos u won't say u will hold her always and not alloe her to explore.
Ps I couldn't sè ur post where u complained but i saw other mamas comments. thanks dear. We have resorted to removing the bed frame and dropping the mattress on the floor |

AlphaHandMaiden: I am fine thanks. Hope you are doing good yourself.
I dont think there is. But think there is a reccommended amount. If you check the can of aptamil or other milk, they usually give an amount, but i think this is based on the vitamin contents in each milk fred so that the baby can reach the recommended daily allowance.
The thing is once they have started solids, they usually get fuller so there is no great apertite for milk. Especially immediately after a meal.
Once you have established 3 solid meals a day, you can use the milk to supplement as "snack" at other times inbetween meals. She may take it better then.
Just save your money and extend the life of your formular. give her the small quantity that she will finish. If she needs more, you can always make a bit to top up. thanks ma |

AlphaHandMaiden: I do not think there is anything wrong with your meal plan. Just make sure she gets loads of water and fibres in her diet. Her body will adjust
My issue with pap-pi meals are they contain no fibres whatsoever, so they are not great for digestion and the bowels, because the fibres are strained off and only the starch is retained.
So keep giving her a good mix of different foods and give her water whilst she is eating. After every few spoons, give a few sips of water.
Or you can always make sure you feed solid first and then give a small bottle of milk. This is what i did between 6 and 10 months. After i feed my baby solid, i will give a small bottle ( 200ml) of milk as final course. The milk was also made with bit less formular for the amount of water. And that worked for us, never had constipation issues.
You can also add some prune puree to her diet, however i would say do not feed her the entire pouch in one go. Spread it out over 2 -3 days... it will help her poop. AlphaMAMA, how body? so i'd like to ask..... Is there a minimum quantity of milk a baby who has started solids should take daily? I noticed my DD is no more interested in only milk feeds (she hardly finshes 150ml of formula except she is very very hungry unlike b4), but when u mix milk with her cereals she takes it well. Should I just add more milk to her cereals and reduce the number of plain formula feeds? |

Akorkor,
Su.gah has answered ur question.
My dd's stool is darker and smellier now that she had started solids. I just try to avoid constipation by giving water.
Ur schedule is fine. Ur doing nothing wrong
So I'm thinking... U can reduce the banana to 1ce a week, except ur daughter drinks water well. |

So I just dissolve it into water straight then put on fire to cook directly by stirring it directly and add crayfish or fish when it's almost done. I am thinking to start veggie beans from 7 months.@ambient. You can used any of the method from me or enque. It will surely work Ambient & Akorkor, hope u guys store it in the fridge once U open? ambient: Plz I just bought this product and am still at loss on how to go about preparing it.do I mix all together or what help abeg For Nuttymeal and mixagrain, Boil a little water, Dissolve 1 and half tablespoon of any of the 2 (either Nuttymeal or mixagrain) in cold water (like u do when making semo). While the water is boiling, I add small coconut oil or olive oil and little crayfish to it. When it's boiled, I pour in the dissolved mixture and stir to avoid lumps. Cover and cook for another 5 mins. Serve with baby milk or breastmilk. I like to make it a bit thick so that by the time I add milk, it doesn't end up so watery cos I mix the milk in water b4 adding to the food. For veggie beans, I haven't tried it yet. Wanna start when she is 8 months. |

olubankemi: @Enque, it is well. I think kids falling is highly inevitable. While they are trying to get their balance, falling off is part of it! However, we can only try to keep an eye on them and take them away from where is perceived dangerous. My girl too fall this night and me sef I almost cried, hubby blamed and shouted but what can I do? Am sorry to baby and am sorry to hubby was all I could say even if he no need sorry, no be him sha fall.
As for stress, it's part of life, the earlier you know my sister, but managing it makes the better difference! Am alone now with my twins, I discovered even when my cousin's daughter was with me, she was a lot of stress than an assistant. I do my things smartly and cutely without anybody messing things up and that makes me feel cool.
For the tommy, I don't know cos my tommy is as flat as ever. It just shappen up on its own.

i feed my son with friso gold but it's always watery so i use feeding bottle instead. i think the trick to avoiding watery cereal is adding water gradually, watching the consistency as you mix. |

Akorkor: Seriously, this issue of a creche made me come out. I went to check my DD at creche today and unfortunately she vomited twice, first time was when i was about carrying her, she vomited her banana puree, the second time i wanted to feed her breast milk, i noticed she dint want to suck; thank God i didn't put nipple in her mouth, she just vomited "Big time" the second time the sweet potato puree i told them to give her. From just two days i started creche with my baby, i noticed her tummy is always full, its like they love packing food for their Tommy.
This morning, her teacher was telling me i should be putting more food for her after i put Banana puree for fruit, sweet potato mixed with crayfish and 12 ounce breast milk with formula oooo. She said i may be adding Tom Brown and i was like (Seriously for a six month baby?) She doesn't eat much like that now. I have never seen my baby vomiting so much like these. Am so worried? @enque, feddy27. For the vomitting, maybe they just finished feeding her not long before you carried her. Also do they burp her when she finishes her food? 2 things triggers my dd's vomitting....if she doesn't sit up or rest after eating, and if you try to carry her immediately after eating. So we leave her sitting for like 20-30 mins after meal before anyone tries to carry her. You know what quantity of food your baby eats on a good day, so pack what you are sure that she can finish. She just started solids na, so take it easy...one day at a time. All that food plus tom brown again?? Haba na! I think its a bit much...except maybe she won't eat dinner when u guys get home. how long does she stay at the creche?? |

Health › Re: NEW BORN BABIES! Are U A New Mum? Then Lets Discuss Babies Here!!!!! by enque(f): 11:30am On Jul 13, 2017 |
hunniesuzie: Mamas good morning oh, I don't understand my baby's creche anymore and I'm thinking of changing it. Normally I pack his food like this: 90mls of formula already prepared and kept in the warmer, 150mls expressed breast milk in a cooler bag (usually still partly frozen), then 3 portions of formula for 180ml feeds. Usually I breastfeed him well from 5:30, leave home by 6 and drop him around 6:15, he's half asleep or sleeping by then...he usually takes the formula when he wakes up around 7:30. Then 1 of the 180 ml formula around 9/10, then breastmilk around 12/1, the remaining formula around 3/4 and then 6-ish. The last formula is an extra in case I'm late cos I typically pick him up around 5:30
In the first few weeks when I pick him, the woman will say he finished all the food, including the last formula. She rinses his bottles. I told her to not bother with rinsing but she still does it. I have never picked him after 6pm before so there was no logical reason for him to finish the last food. Anytime he stays home with my mum or when I'm home, we maintain the same schedule and he doesn't drink that last bottle. Only when he goes to creche. I decided not to fuss because apart from that he is fine and seems well taken care of
Fast forward to today, While I was measuring the formula, the tin I had finished and I didn't have another at home. So I was only able to prep the 90mls, breastmilk and one 180ml bottle. Ideally this should take him till noon. So I asked Mumsi to pls help buy formula when shops open and take it to the creche. Next thing headteacher calls me at 8:30 to say there's no food for my boy and he will soon be hungry. I was confused so I told mumsi to go there. On getting there they claimed he had finished 90mls of formula, 150mls of breastmilk and almost finished 180mls of formula between 6:15 and 9am (she saw the rinsed bottles). 3 hours for God's sake...how? She sha dropped the formula and left
Now I'm confused, my baby simply does not eat like that. Are they discarding the food? Is she force feeding him? Do I change his creche? Should I just ignore it since he's fine and growing well? Which kain thing be this? 420mls in 3 hours?? oluwa ooo! |

Florena: Hello mamas.
For those battling with cold right now, this is what work for me....
Close all windows, no Ac, no fan, let the house be as warm as possible. Bath baby with warm water, massage mentholatum on baby's chest, nose, neck, back, and rib sides. Let baby be completely covered (i.e cap, socks sweater) so that their body can absorb the menthol. You can back them immediately after bath. And please bath every other day (2days) but always apply menthol.
You can also do steam inhalation but my baby hates this. He will be screaming as if the steam will kill him
Iomoge2 recipe (melted shea butter and salt) gives instant relief when the cough starts.
Finally be patient, you might cry a little but don't worry it's just the weather, cold is everywhere, except it is associated with high temperature consult your doctor. ds only coughs in the morning and it was very bad, he will be crying while coughing. We are free now sha.
We will be 8months in 3days Your son is tall o please explain the bolded statement. You don't bath everyday? |
