@ akorkor,

U meant August secrets mixagrain?

For the mixagrain and Nuttymeal, I make it from home,
put in small food flask and I feed her in the morning at the creche b4 I leave to my office or we take it at nights for dinner
I prefer the texture when it when it is warm and fresh from the pot.
That's how we like it grin

Please I have a question? If I put a formula in baby food can I still give her anytime? . For example, after cooking Tom brown or mixa grain and I mixed it with formula and you know that formula can be used within one hour, please can I still give her the mix grain? Enque, Fedd,..y27,jazzja...zz(how's Ilan?) liftedh...ands,dexte...rush(thanks for the mention) how's you and LO?
For any Meal that has to mixed with formula, I put the food separately and the milk separately so her nanny can mix when she is ready to eat. I don't like mixing immediately so it doesn't sour or get spoilt.

U re rushing your child like he is in competition with someone, he is growing at his own pace unless you have other reasons to be worried at 7,,months but again, what do I know.
It's your child.
She is a first time mum and its normal for her to worry cos she doesn't have the experience u have.
At least she came on here to ask valid questions n express herself which is what I believe this forum is all about.

@ roseval, my dd is 7 months too.
I started doing all the stuff i typed previously when I noticed that if i keep something within her line of sight, she will be trying to lunge forward as if she wants to go and take it. Also when I lie her on her tommy, she raises her head well as if she wants to move.
Then I knew it was time to start encouraging her.
My lil sis bought her a pack of colourful rattles, and that's what I use when we r playing. The color and sound of the rattles excites her so she tries to crawl n get it herself.

pls o don't be discouraged if he doesn't respond, with time he'll get the hang of it.

Crawling, standing and walking are not very easy milestones to achieve, so it may take a while for them to get there

p.s - I'm a first time mum too, so my methods are subject to scrutiny by other experienced mamas grin grin wink

Cc lifte..dhand, Twogre..atnations, olu..bankemi, reald..entist jazzy..jazz, feddy..27 nd other sabi mama's
Does he 'lunge' forward like he wants to move??
Here's what u can try - put him in a sitting position and then put his favourite toy(s) a little bit far from him but where his eyes can see. Then start calling his attention to it..
Watch out for his reaction...he may most likely make an attempt to lunge forward and get it...
Pls do this on a big bed cos he may fall face flat while trying, so he doesn't get injured.

Take it easy mama, Na slow n steady with practice, he'll get there soon.

Mamas in the house, when I am rested, I will share my experience over this weekend. Never suppress you or your partner's gut instinct. It can make a difference for your baby. I had a similar experience like Iomoge2. I thank God that mine has ended in praise.
Will be waiting for the story smiley

Hello all
Graphic novels are exploding in popularity, and there's good reason behind this phenomenon.

This sometimes misunderstood type of book is a full-length story told in paneled, sequential, graphic format - different from book-length collections of comic strips or wordless picture books.

Graphic novels are great for "reluctant readers" and kids just learning to read. They're generally fast paced, and the word-to-picture correlation provides an easy way to expand children's vocabularies. Perhaps more importantly, graphic novels tend to be more engaging than other "early reader" books. Another plus: the number of titles is expanding rapidly every year, so there's something for every child's interests. Last, but not least, graphic novels positively impact children’s visual literacy skills, which are more essential than ever in the digital age.

Comic and cartoons are hard to distinguish from graphical books

@ enque, I don't think a little diluted orange juice once in a while is bad.
Concerning the water issue, my children don't like sippy cups. They either use straw cups or normal adult cups. You can actually try giving her water from your cup or try these disposable cups that make noise. She may like it. Hope this helps.
thanks ma

AlphaHandMaiden:
you sef think the matter...

If they give you coke bottle and then when you drink instead of coke it is water... imagine your disappointment. it is probably the same for her.

Change the mode of giving her the water, rather than use a fedding bottle, why not try a sippy cup with a very different tip the usual bottle, straw ( as mama Zaynie suggested, or just a normal cup.

she is too young for ribena in my own opinion. besides do not start what you cannot continue or finish. the day there is no ribena... that means baby will not drink water. or if you start on the assumption that they do not like water now you will continue giving them drinks which are unhealthy. at this age the drink options should be milk and Water ONLY

plus it is not good for their tender teeth. tooth decay in children from using bottles to such sweet or acid drinks is a real issue.... google bottle caries to gross yourself out.
Thanks
