Jarus: I play in about 5 pitches on that axis.
On a related note, NNPC has one of the best teams in oil and gas industry games. Probably because they have the most staff in oil industry.
I represented my then company in table tennis in oil and gas industry games in 2012. I was beaten black and blue by a guy from Addax.
NNPC usually win in football and table tennis. They have very good football and table tennis players. They used to have one left-handed Hausa man that used to win Gold medal in table tennis - very good. Their football team walloped my former company 7-0 or something like that in football few years ago.
My present company doesn't participate in oil & gas industry games. If I join NNPC, I will join their football team, but I know I wont make their 3rd 11 sef. They have very good football players. Does NNPC have Taekwando club? |

Aidelomo: The more new theories are postulated, the more arguments will flow..NB nobody here has an idea what the GHR divisions' criteria is for the final selection, hence the need to avoid blind confrontations...Islamic studies will be employed, CRS education will be employed,Engineers will be employed, geologists will be employed E.C.T. whether you argue or make a case if your course of study is technical or non-technical won't make any difference...its the final list that matters..keep being hopeful that's all.....BTW first time poster here, but have monitored this thread from page 1..nice day all God bless..... And no theory pushed you to comment until now? You must possess a superhuman power Nice submission by the way. |

BenFlash: This sarcasm is totally off point as I wasn't taking a dig at chemistry or physics.
Your beef with my comments is just like a nurse picking an offense at a Doctor who said he was trained to do all what the nurse is doing plus more. It may sound like pride but it is the truth. So don't take it personal as it just an objective statement of fact from an unbiased 'non-doctor' Who is trained to do all what a chemist is doing please?. Let me quickly check something |

BenFlash: Its like you have not been reading my comments. This is your ego speaking. There is a reason why it is called engineering, you may design the process but the engineer converts the design to an actual plant with complete automation where necessary. Won't you prove your point without disturbing my ego ? What's your take by the way. Chemistry is technical or not? And don't tell me that Chemistry is strictly analytical else I will tell you that Engineering is strictly mechanical or strictly civil or strictly electrical or strictly ......(complete the rest) |

BenFlash: It is termed technical quite alright but at the same time, technical has 'levels' based on whether the course curriculum involves some vocational trainings. The test tubes or distillation columns etc. being utilised by a chemist to work must first be designed and constructed by a chemical engineer What's been used to construct the test-tubes ? Oh wait!. You didn't know an industrial chemist also designs processes?? |

Jarus: Arguable. Industrial chemistry is technical to refinery (midstream), for example, non-technical to downstream and semi-technical exploration and production (upstream).
All engineering courses and fields like geology, geophysics are undisputably technical to oil and gas industry.
Courses like Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry are also technical, but less so. I will say they are in-between.
Economics, Accounting, IT (except may be Computer Engineering), environmental courses, Law are all support functions. But interestingly, a typical upstream or downstream oil company may need more accountants than chemists. Finance department is usually one of the biggest non-technical departments. A 100-staff company may have up to 15 accountants.
Strictly my view based on experience and observations, not a textbook classification. Wow. Thanks for the elaborate explanation |

larride: You do not set the rules of engagement on this thread.
This place is not NNPC official handle or website. Everything being shared here is third party information which is open to a lot of distortion.
Lastly, common sense should tell you this is not your church WhatsApp group or your work place WhatsApp group where everyone fake “maturity”. Silence doesn’t equate maturity neither do cracking jokes makes you less matured.
If you don’t like what a Nairalander post, the best thing to do is ignore n move on.That’s what matured people do, they don’t start whining like a lady on her period. Eweleeee!!! This K. O Brother where is your chill na? In short. Local man is not doing again |

BenFlash: Chemical Engineering is technical but chemistry is not. It is more or less strictly analytical (for lack of a more holistic term) Is this your answer absolute or merely what you think? What's your course of study? |

Jarus: Your friend's response aligns with what we have always told people here but some choose to believe some theories.
By the way, technical roles are engineering, Geology and related fields.
Those of us non-technical are the support functions (Finance, HR, IT etc). Nothing new actually, oil industry is a technical industry (not a service industry like banks), they will always need more technical guys. Where does Industrial Chemistry fall, texhnical too? |

jaiye4love: Which means that its likely that there is already a grouping among applicants and this is to say those that collected compensation are one category and the other group without compensation are second category. If they start sharing APL, I'm sure one group has the APL,Moreover the APL sharing is taking place in another recruitment stage and can't be combined with compensation activities which is part of the interview stage. I'm afraid those without compensation has the APLs to themselves Have you been paid? Just wantu check something |

fumfum23: I posted this earlier. I had to edit because I realised I wasn't fully anon on my profile and I'm trying to protect my privacy. I hope my profile photo has deleted o. LMAO.
Here's what I wrote earlier.
"Alright. Lemme talk my own.
Nothing significant that has not been heard already.
I spoke to someone (one of my rich toasters huhu) who USED TO work with NNPC he rose through the ranks before leaving for a private oil company.
Same information. He said he spoke to someone who WORKS IN THE GMDs office (high up) about me (I went for the interview) the guy said its ABOVE HIM. I only called him to confirm if my name was on the list but he said he can't see anything it's very confidential. He said I should pray because my state is competitive. Imagine someone working in the GMDs office saying its above him.
Other things he said: - It's apparently 80% merit 20% politics. - He spoke to the guy after the Salah break and he told him to expect the letter end of this month. - They're taking people more from "technical" roles. I'm not sure what that really means. I studied Social Science so I'm not among. - I didn't ask about TF and APL because he won't know and I'll just look stupid asking about una nairaland theories.
It's nothing I haven't heard here a thousand times. Please don't ask for my state o. Ya girl is trying to stay anon.
Disclaimer: THIS PERSON IS NOT CURRENTLY WORKING WITH NNPC. He's an old head relying on others for information to". Thanks for the update, you have done well Have you received alert? Just checking something |

You can start from short distance boat cruises in Dubai Creeks.
With as low as N150k, you can ride in a yacht in Dubai. You don't need to work in NNPC to achieve that sef. Where else can one work to achieve that Pure and Industrial Chemist, Entry level |
