Guy....it's clear you do not understand how government works....."Government contracts have mobilization fees and all"not in this industry ...the contractors mobilize and as the contract progresses there are what you call milestones, for every milestone you achieve you raise an invoice and submit,if you are lucky;you get paid within a month,if you aren't then you are on your own, mind you most contracts are up to 5 milestones which you must complete before you are paid, there is always a clause to prove you can finance your contracts for minimum 6 months- 1year before you can come claim any dime, that is where your milestones kick in. i know this cos it is part of what i do...drafting strategy memo and bid evaluation.... Where you dey since |

Aidelomo: Good morning folks...hope you all slept well... this is no theory, but pure fact..i have been graciously favored to be working as a contract staff in one of the SBUs,which makes me interact daily with staffs of different sets.while the theories have lasted, the groups' been lively but let me throw some input from what i've gathered so far. 1. some staffs working now were paid T-fare, some weren't as confirmed from one just now cos i'm in the office..he specifically said him and some colleagues discussed it recently and while he got, some said they didn't get but they are all working now in the NNPC for over 15 years. 2.one other staff said their set wasn't paid at all, perhaps he wasn't paid 3. some panelists came from this particular SBU cos i can attest that i know over 10-20 of them that left from here with 3 of my bosses among..it will interest you to know i had 2 of them on my panel with one being the chairman sef who recognized me when he saw me back at the office when i couldn't even recognize him,and the other one who was transferred back to Towers from this SBU in GHR dept. 4.they say everyone will be paid, but i know the Nigerian factor will come to play... 5.Most of them claim they don't have any idea of what is going on,i have tried to draw info from the top ogas even the one that recognized me him being a manager but to no avail, they all keep saying we have passed the recommendation...i heard immediately after the end of the days interview recommendations are sent..so keep your fingers crossed and to those who think not getting alert is akin to automatic employment, calm down and hope..because there is no correlation at all these payments are contracted and the contractors source for their monies to pay before they are reimbursed hence you are seeing peoples name and not NNPC directly making the payments..at least that's what happens where i work.. like i said yesterday i have followed this thread from the beginning but refrained from commenting because all theories were baseless but interesting to read tho.. pls...i'm not here to brag about anything, but just to add my text to calm some nerves that some "non-alertees"as they call themselves are trying raise....good-day all..have a hopeful Wednesday... Very good. Don't mind all these theorists them Have you been paid? Nothing serious, just want to check sth |

Uricas: DanXplore Let me start by saying that Chemical engineering is actually a subset of Chemistry and your thinking of me is errorneous - I believe every course is unique.
My point of discussion is about why a chemical engineer can work in the Lab. Any other thing you want to bring up will cause unnecessary arguement. And please, stop telling me all I did was "scratch" chemistry - you didn't do it, I did it. So save your "scratch". All you did is scratch chemistry Mr. Man |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Apply For 2019 NNPC Graduate Trainee And Experience Hire by Enrypech: 9:25pm On Aug 20, 2019 |
DanXplore: I doubt you truely understood what you posted earlier. That you scratched the surface of organic, inorganic and physical chemistry does not mean you did majority of chemistry. A very spurious conclusion to say the least. By you logic, another chemical engineering graduate could claim that he did most of the physics courses because he did electricity & magnetism, properties of matter and practicals in physics. Same could be said for maths. How far did you go in your physical or organic chemistry? Did you study and experiment in detail the reaction steps and pathways in synthesis of organic compouds like the chemistry guys? Were you taught in detail and with experimentation the various theories in the field of molecular interactions (i.e. bond destruction and formations)? If you really did up to 50% of dedicated chemistry modules in professional detail in addition to transport phenomena and the likes, then you should have been awarded a double honours in Chemistry & Analytic Sciences and Chemical Engineering. On the contrary, what you were taught in the school of chemical engineering was cherry picked to give you and overall understanding of how to design your equipment.
Don't get it twisted. Chemical Engineers did chemistry but to think you did 'most' of what is in the core chemistry modules either stems from poor understanding of what chemistry really is or just plain mischief. I think it is necessary I also state that Chemical Engineers and Chemists are unque professionals. None is superior to the other but you appear to think that chemistry is a subset of Chemical Engineering. Thank you Boss |

Playzer: Most of my lecturers (professors and doctors) back then were consultants with either NNPC or some other O&G coys. They were mostly pure and applied chemist with vast knowledge in refinery processes, environmental and analytical techniques required in the O&G sectors.
Someone mentioned chemical engineering students borrowing our core courses; to my knowledge aside chemistry of petroleum process (year2) and the usual general chemistry done in the first year, we didn’t share any other course in common. It was rather the other way round, especially in year 3 where industrial chemistry students must offer some courses in chem eng such as unit operations etc. The only thing we had in common was going to NNPC housing complex for sports.
When we visited the Refinery(Warri) for practicals or other laboratories in town, every department has the section they visited; I didn’t see any chem eng taking our place or trying to supervise or give us instructions on what to do because our activities were totally different.
All what I have said won’t change the names already on the list but for my fellow chemist seeking answers, when we get there we should spend money in developing our careers as that is the sure way you end up big.
Proudly FUPRITE Thank you bro, I held my peace and didn't want to engage him further when I recalled that back in school, These "engine" boys always felt they were the ones in school while others were unfortunate. There is always this pride in their tone. "magine him saying that "chemical Engineers are trained to do everything Chemists do" If I knew he was this "myopically smart". I would have stopped quoting him long time ago |
