chizzypresh: @Enskynelson Good afternoon, please can i get a guide on how to go about the business plan?? GST302 and DES303 Please *What's DES303?* DES303 is a course on Community Development. In simple terms, it teaches you how to identify problems in a community and work together to solve them in a way that improves people's lives. What is a community? A community is simply a group of people living in the same area or people who have something in common. Examples include a village, a school, a market, an orphanage, a church, or even a group of people with disabilities. What is community development? Community development means improving people's lives by identifying their needs and working together to solve their problems. It is not just about giving out money or gifts; it is about creating lasting solutions that benefit the community. What will you learn in DES303? You will learn how to: • Identify problems in a community. • Understand the causes of those problems. • Plan a project that addresses the problems. • Work effectively as a team. • Carry out a community development project. • Evaluate whether your project made a positive impact. Why are we visiting a community? The practical aspect of DES303 requires students to carry out a Community Development Project. This means choosing a community or organization, identifying a need, and carrying out an activity that will positively impact the people there. Examples of community development projects include: • Visiting an orphanage to donate food items or educational materials. • Organizing a health awareness campaign. • Cleaning a public environment. • Donating books to a school. • Teaching students about career opportunities. • Planting trees. • Empowering people with useful skills. What does the lecturer expect from you? Your lecturer expects you to: • Participate actively in planning the project. • Work together • Contribute financially • Attend the visitation. • Take pictures and videos as evidence. • Help prepare the final report of the project. How will you be graded? Your DES303 grade depends on the successful upload of the three required documents: • Proposal – Your project plan. • Logbook – A record of your activities and participation. • Report – A summary of the completed project and its impact. |

Buzzgal: Yes. The p-value ≤ 0.05 decision rule is for inferential analysis. I was referring to the decision rule for mean (descriptive analysis). For 4 scale Likert Mean ≥ 2.50 → Agree/Accepted Mean < 2.50 → Disagree/Rejected You can however contact your supervisor if you need to for confirm for your subject-specific rule. |

Buzzgal: Hello Ensky,
Can I verify from you the decision rule NOUN uses to interprete data? I don't know if my question is clear enough? For research, I think you meant. If p-value ≤ 0.05: reject the null hypothesis (H₀). If p-value > 0.05: do not reject the null hypothesis. If there are any specific ones, pls list. |

chizzypresh: It's not just the GST courses that are showing but all courses from 100level to the current 300l 2nd semester and then this current semester's own Should i go ahead to register current one without picking any gst from 100level or 200level U still didn't get all the info. If you are a 300L DE student, only NOU/GST107 is the lower level GST course compulsory for you. See here https://deags.nou.edu.ng/gst-courses-and-descriptions/The portal need to be modified so that you dont even get to see those lower level courses not meant for you at all. |

chizzypresh: entered with HND Someone said i am supposed to register all GST courses from 100level till 200level The issue is at the point of harvesting names. All eyes is mostly on those with high TCE forgetting some persons didn't enter from 100L The system need to be modified in such a way that for those that enters from 200 or 300L, the lower level courses shouldn't be showing in your portal at all except for the one you are due and this should also not show up in the support site. The lower level courses showing as pending courses takes a standing complaint to the department and follow up for them to act fast. Lower level GSTs are not compulsory for DE students except NOU/GST107 which is compulsory irrespective of your mode of entry. From the bold, if you notice you are due and not seeing your name, you have to send complaints via the support site and follow up. |

chizzypresh: @ Enskynelson Good morning, I have been concerned as I saw someone here complaining about not being able to graduate due to some pending Gst course which they didn't register from 100level to 200level as Direct entry students who started from 300level Like this now,I don't know if it is compulsory to register the gst courses as some of my course mates registered some of the gst courses last semester and wrote the exam unlike me this is holding me back from registering as i am currently in 300level 2nd semester Specify your entry level, also specify the GST courses. |

Htown64: After requesting for my transcript, I just discovered I was given pass on all my courses and failed me in two. Please what can I do to correct this? Are you saying it is not correct? Note that pass include A,B,C,D or E (for UG students) or A,B,C (for PG students). Fail are the courses you had a carryover. The transcripts that contains your actual grade is no sent directly to student but to schools. That is how NOUN operates. That one contains all your grades (A,B,C,D,E,F) as the case may be. |

Vercy: Hi Enskynelson and everyone. I received provisional admission to study PGD in IT. The admission letter says to go for physical clearance with a list of items including “Evidence of NYSC participation (ID card), completion, exemption, or exclusion”. My issue is that I don’t have this because I’m waiting for the NYSC portal to open so I can register.
Will I be allowed to go for clearance without this proof of NYSC? Or do I have to register for NYSC before I can go for clearance? Thanks in advance.
My university has already sent my transcript to NOUN by email. Proceed to your selected study centre. Before now, that has never been compulsory. Kindly explain if they request for it. Just go with evidence of application for the transcripts. |

I am a new student; found out the Business Center guy that helped me register and create the email was using the email to send out shady emails, so I deleted the emails and changed the password, but now I can’t access the email again 😔 OK. Go to https://support.nou.edu.ng/ OPEN a new ticket... EMAIL AND COURSE MATERIAL Category and STUDENT EMAIL ISSUE OR NO STUDENT EMAIL subcategory (depending on the issue u are having), write your complaint and send. If you do that during working hours, it will be attended to in less than 48hrs. Make sure you add your phone number and possibly, a recovery email when the issue is treated. |
