Something in this country tells us that we can just “do something” about what has been done without facing the full consequences of our actions.

Now those who were shouting “boycott Ibom Air,” abeg, can we use the strength to also boycott dangote fuel? I want to see something.
So, because people cannot boycott Dangote fuel, they should fold their hands? There should be different strategies to getting attention of some of their companies. Same strategy doesn't work for all. We all pray for a better Nigeria where people should be held accountable for any of the actions.

But is there a deadline for the physical screening? I saw somewhere that next semester will commence on 1st September, can I still do my physical screening in that first week of September assuming I couldn't do it before then?
The semester just started. There won't be a new semester until December 2025 or January 2026. The earlier you do your physical screening the earlier the better so you can do registration and focus on your personal studies.

Good Morning Enskynelson. I noticed that the balance money in my Noun ewallet increased from 5, 250 naira to 20,250 naira. I believe this is as a result of the system glitch some few days back. This has been upto six days now and the money in the wallet is yet to be reversed. What do you advice that we do?
If you are yet to register, pay your regular fees leaving the extra money IF you won't have money to clear a future negative balance. However, if you know anytime a negative comes you can afford to clear it, add money to it and do your registration. Whenever the negative comes up, you pay up and clear it.

Please house, any idea of how long it takes to receive a refund as per your rented convocation gown , IT stipends and a refund of wallet balance. @Enskynelson please shead more lights on these?
1. The other year, it didn't take this long before students started receiving refund for their rented gown. I haven't heard of anyone who has been refunded yet

2. IT/SiWES payment is supposed to be made by the ITF and it's clearly for some programmes. Even those that are in the categories, I have NEVRR heard anyone said s/he was paid this money for years now. I think this complaint should be made to the management for more clarification.

3. Wallet refund... The guidelines is that you apply to the Bursary through your study centre director. Make sure to attach evidence for ALL payments inckudent transfer receipts and bank tellers. After that, you wait for them to process. On this too, my students are often discouraged and I personally haven't heard of anyone who applied for a refund before even knowing the outcome.

Please I still want to ask; since the Noun site is currently down, can I apply online now to my former school for them to start processing my transcript inorder to send it to Noun school of postgraduate studies, considering that the process takes like two weeks or so, hopefully by then the site will be fully back?
What you need to present at your study centre to get cleared is evidence of application for the transcripts. That is what is required. You can present the receipt of payment or Remita payment receipt as the case may be.
Christianity EtcRe: "I Have Decided To Follow Jesus"? by Enskynelson(m): 12:09pm On Aug 06, 2025
jesusjnr2020:
You keep using the context card to justify the use of a wrong word to describe God or His love and mercies towards .

You've now even added the word "spoil" which is also not in God's character to make matters worse, so you could as well use corrupt, pollute, bribe, rape,.molest, assault, lust, defraud, steal, lie, abuse etc, to also describe God, since you think it's all the about contextual meaning and the wrong word cannot be used in that regard.

But if you can't, it then clearly disproves your attempt to keep using the other part of the song (even if scripturally accurate) to justify the use of the wrong word (not in the character of God) to describe God in the song.

Moreover point of correction, this isn't about giving the song a different meaning, but using the wrong word to describe God's love, mercies, compassion etc., towards His children.
Sorry, I have to disagree with you on this. In case you don't know, I have been following you here for more than a year because of your posts but on this, I disagree.

Why did you refuse to answer some of the questions?
If spoil and pamper can never be used for God in a sentence, what make you feel comfortable with extravagant and reckless of all words to describe anything about God?

This is not about the Bible like I have been saying. The understanding of the song is about grammar sir and on this, you are not getting it right.
Christianity EtcRe: "I Have Decided To Follow Jesus"? by Enskynelson(m): 11:32pm On Aug 05, 2025
jesusjnr2020:
Where you're getting it wrong is that you're confusing the love of men with that of God.

It's men that pamper those they love not God.

The Bible says God chastens those He loves never pamper.

Even Jesus who God Himself called "my BELOVED Son in whom I'm well pleased" wasn't pampered by God but immediately led into the wilderness to fast dry for forty days, to prove the difference between the love of God and that of men. Therefore the idea of using pamper in the context of God's love is outright erroneous.

You can use mercy, grace, compassion, etc but never pampering because it's not in the character of God.

Moreover the Bible implies that those who pamper their children hate them, so it's wrong and unscriptural to use that to describe God's love, mercy or grace towards His children.
All these are contextual meanings. Yes, God chastises those He love but what kind of love would you describe one who loves you just so much? The pamper you saw there means to spoil one with so much love. The other part of the song clarifies this but you keep giving the song a different meanig just because of your own personal understanding of the word "pamper" outside the context of this song. I know you know and understand the Bible but understanding this song doesn't only require the knowledge of the Bible but also proper knowledge of songwriting and use of language and I think that is where the problem is.

To you, "Daddy wey the pamper" is saying God that doesn't discipline his children even if they disobey Him and do anything they wish against His will... But let me ask you a question, does the rest part of the song align with this your perceived meaning?

The song is an expression of God's reckless love and extravagant love towards the writer... They expressed how God love them in excess throughout the song, some of which are found in these lines:

"Your goodness and mercy dey follow me up
Like say I be new convert"

"Na you dey pamper
Na you dey love
Na you dey set Compass without maths set
Na u dey pamper
Na u dey love"

"This life nor go make sense
This life nor go make sense without you honestl"

I want you to tell me from the song, the lines that support the meaning you are referring to here? You just lifted the word "pamper" without looking at how it was used and for the reason it was used. That cannot breed the interpretation of a writer's true intention.

If you are sure of what you wrote, apply for remark. Staff at your Study Centre may discourage you but I think if a student is sure, he should go ahead because, remarking is another way of quality control. It's not to discredit the school as some people think but it can help assure the University of her academic standards. If given the opportunity to make suggestion, I think after every making and recording exercise, the University can even do this on her own, randomly picking and remarking some scripts. In so doing, they will be sure they are doing the right thing.
Christianity EtcRe: "I Have Decided To Follow Jesus"? by Enskynelson(m): 8:11pm On Aug 05, 2025
jesusjnr2020:
You're missing the whole point.

This isn't about the body of the song, but the word 'pamper" being used in the same sentence with God, because it doesn't align with the character of God according to the scriptures.

You may need to look up the meaning and synonyms of the word in the dictionary to understand that it isn't synonymous with mercy, compassion, love etc and vice versa.

So the fact remains that "pamper" is the wrong word to depict God in any context because God doesn't do pamper regardless of how it is being dressed.

It's just like trying to justifying the use of lust to depict God in the title of a song because it speaks about God's love for us. It will never work because lust in not in the character of God.

I hope you get the point now.

God bless.
Words are explained in contexts.
Let me ask you this question:
Is it wrong to say "God is pampering me with His love?" This song is about God's love and mercy. "God is spoiling me with too much love" that is the same as pampering and I see nothing wrong in the way it is used here.

To correct you on the use of word without context you cannot pick a word from a sentence without looking at where it's being used. For instance, is "extravagant" a good thing? But haven't you heard of "extravagant love" or "reckless" as in "reckless love of God"?

God pampers all his children with so much love and care. This I stand to say is correct, and that is what the song is talking about

Hello Nairalanders, please I need clarification.

I’m trying to apply for the MSc in Agriculture (Crop Science) at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN). I’ve already made the application payment, but while filling the form, I discovered that no Master’s degree programmes are showing under the Faculty of Agriculture.

Each time I select the department, it says:
“There are no programmes in the selected category (Master Degree) in this department. Check other departments, possibly in other faculties.”

I’ve checked other faculties, and their postgraduate programmes are visible.

Is it that the Faculty of Agriculture is not accepting applications at the moment?
Is it that NOUN doesn't offer MSc in Agriculture even when it's listed on its accredited courses?
Could this be a system error?
Has anyone experienced this?
How can I get my application fee refunded if there's no way out?

Please, I’ll appreciate any helpful information
There is no M.Sc in the Faculty right now.
You should have tried to find that out before making payment.

What does "daddy wey dey pamper" mean in the contest of the song? I think you interpreted that phrase without considering where it was used. You lifted it and just talked about the "pamper"! Here is the song lyrics:

Even when I fall your hand
You still dey hold my hand
Lover of my soul, You nor dey break my heart
I'll sing about your mercy
I'll sing about your grace
Na u dey burst my brain
Every night and day
Daddy wey dey pamper
Daddy wey Dey bless
Forever you're my father
Na u dey give me rest
When I look around
I see your faithfulness
I'll bow down on my knees
Cos na u wey be the best

Daddy wey dey pamper in this context means God that doesn't abandon us in spite of our flaws, weaknesses and imperfections. It means God, my Father, who constantly shows me tender love, mercy, and undeserved care.

If the above is not true of the nature of God let me know the area or nature expressed there that contradicts the nature of God.

You are so right. Whenever I sing that song, I had to take out some parts of the lyrics and add in my own cos I like the tune. How can I say, daddy wey dey pamper 'I say something else. I don't say burst my brain? What is that? What does that mean, he bursts my brain night and day. And Christians and pastors sing it, and they don't see it? Sometimes I feel so lonely.

I reluctantly went for a praise program yesterday evening and everyone was dancing crazy, vibing, videoing themselves, entertaining one another, a few lifted up their chairs, took off their wigs, while a popular praise gospel singer "entertained". I tried to concentrate on God, but at some point it was hard cos the lyrics were mostly about self. Oh! It's sad. A congregation of about a thousand people. I feel unhappy sometimes when I see these things.
I quite agree with you that many songs and many gatherings these days are just like Christian entertainment... Let us entertain ourselves in a godly way. The spiritual benefits of such gatherings have been reduced to the barest minimum.

However, I disagree with you about that particular song. You are getting it wrong in my opinion. What I understand that the song is saying is this: God, my Father, the one who constantly shows tender love, mercy, and undeserved care. The one who loves us in spite our weaknesses, flaws and imperfections. With this understanding, I don't know how you feel the lyrics is not correct? I am sure what made u misunderstood the artiste is the word PAMPER. But try and understand the word in the context of the song. Read everything that surrounds that word. The song does not in anyway imply we should be sinning while the grace abounds... It is only an expression of God's unconditional love towards us.
Christianity EtcRe: "I Have Decided To Follow Jesus"? by Enskynelson(m): 6:43pm On Aug 04, 2025
jesusjnr2020:
That's how another "gospel" singer would wake up and sing a song about a "daddy wey dey pamper", yet the song will be trending in churches and among Christians, despite the fact that it doesn't align with the scriptures which teaches us that he that pampers his child hates the child, and that God doesn't pamper but chastens those He loves. Proverbs 13:24, Revelation 3:9, Hebrews 12:6.

The god who pampers his children is not the God of the Bible, but the devil (the god of the world) because he hates them and doesn't want them to change or repent so they'd end up in hell with him.

Therefore beware of the "daddy wey dey pamper"

God bless.
